So this was working great, but the past few days I no longer see where Google has grabbed my location on the search page. Running a search on something as simple as "sushi" no longer brings up restaurants near my location.
Anyone else having this problem? I'm wondering if Google has taken the feature offline for a bit for some reason...as it just suddenly vanished.
By the way, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google Gears, but to no avail.
Mine is confirmed still working
Well that's not good news for me... Has anyone else encountered this issue? I've tried clearing the cache/cookies, etc...nothing seems to work.
Thats weird, mine is still working fine as of now.
I also noticed that the my location feature on the google mobile site is no longer there. Now it shows US voter registration info. I hope it goes back soon. Monday the 6th is the last day here in AZ that one can register so hopefully the google geeks put it back how it was. My location in google maps was way off also while driving yesterday.

Hey Guys,
Google Now has been crashing recently. Specifically, when Google play launches a google search, it crashes. For instance, when I ask a question by voice, I hear Google Now answer the question partially, but before the Google search results below load, the app crashes.
Is anyone else having this problem? Do you possibly know how I can fix it?
<Deleted>
Just noticed this myself on my Nexus 7, but works OK on GNex both running trinity kernel..
same issue
I'm having this problem as well with my Nexus 7. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. it's just so frustrating. I tried to download the offline language pack but still didnt work. Like u said no other post online available for this solution yet. Wondering if many people get this.
However one thing did happen, my nexus 7 ran out of batt and turned off by itself. I then plugged it into a power source and turned it on. I run an app and suddenly some blur screen like the TV tuned out came on and all i can hear is some buzzing sound. then i plugged off the power and i charged it again and everything was alright apart from the Google Now thing!!!!!
when the batt ran out, all the memories seems to be wiped out... such as time and date.. seems strange when they built such high tech stuff and they do not have memories to keep track of time and date?!
i really hope this gets resolved soon
Working fine here, GSM.

i think i may have solved the.problem... what i did was i.went to the settings in google now.and.untick the search option under google chrome which searched bookmarks and history. after that google now is working fine and no more Crashes... im not sure whats causing the problem with chrome
sometimes chrome seems to be acting weird.. i get blurry screens and the page doesnt load. i had to restart and it would be fine again...
have u tried to clear the data of google search?

The application crashes even when I try to access the settings menu...
Any other way to solve? I already have cleared the cache/data.
Thanks.

hey, try clearing the data/cache in chrome. and sign in again. then try loading google search again. I'm assuming it's the problem with chrome rather than google search itself.

Hi!
Thanks for reply.
Anyway I "fixed" the problem with Google Now by changing my phone from yakju to takju
Thanks.
Regards.
Anyone figure out how to get it working over ATT?
I thought it was good to go, but after turning on NFC and downloading the app, it says not compatible.
Which is weird since its an unlocked phone.
Do you need to turn on NFC while downloading? Did you try downloading with NFC off?
Maybe either the frequency or software might not be compatible.
Sent from my ST26a using xda app-developers app

Someone with an Xperia Z was able to get it to work. Maybe you could test yourself and report back.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203482
Is anyone else having an issue with NFC. Mine wont switch on. When i tick the box, it automatically unticks. I did copy down a load of app data so maybe i copied over a system one automatically. Any ideas?
Edit: Uninstalled the re-installed Google Wallet. Went in to apps -> NFC service. Cleared all the data and stopped the service. Rebooted the phone and it worked fine. Chose Google Wallet as wallet provider, turned the screen off, then turned it back on and now i'm back to the same problem.

Fantastic. Thanks very much.
Edit: Worked perfectly. Now i'm hoping someone creates a flashable fix for Google Wallet. I dont like manually fiddling with prop files.

Me too, followed the instructions on the Z forum @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40897879#post40897879
The only thing was I left the build.prop with the Galaxy Nexus settings .. changing them back to the Xperia entries broke Wallet after a reboot.

why u can't change it back??! I can change back to sony without problem
there is one thing after install wallet don't update from market.
No idea, each time I revert back to the Sony build.prop after a reboot I get the Google Wallet message "Your device is not supported". When I use the Nexus build.prop is works fine. Odd that I'm getting this error.
strange!! I am c6506 tmobile
So, by all the posts here, Google Wallet does not work without some hackery? I find that interesting, considering it seems that the phone intentionally supported it. I'd love to know who dropped the ball here, Sony or Google. I would love to have Google Wallet working on my ZL, but I refuse to root my phone and alter the build.prop to get it there.
It's definitely Google's fault here. They update Google Wallet every so often with new handset support. Maybe in the next update...maybe.

I kind of figured that would be the case. I hope Google decides to support the ZL as having a non-carrier branded phone (and thus choices like Google Wallet) was half of the allure of the ZL for me.
Hi everyone, I noticed the location history in Google map is off since the last update.
I can't figure out how to get it on again. Any help?

Yes. China version but it was working until last week.
My china version never worked with location history ever since I got the phone no matter what I did. Was surprised yours worked initially.
Works perfectly for me. I use Earth and Maps Go as well. All are working.

Did you install any other Google services apps to make the location history work? There's no Google Location Service on mine when I check which apps used location which I think enables the location history.
I just tried this and it worked for me (surprisingly): https://www.reddit.com/r/UniversalP...utorial_enable_rcs_on_any_carrierdevice_with/
I am on T-Mobile USA.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing. I tried it, and it worked as well! I am on t-mobile USA too.
For what its worth, I forgot to turn off wifi during the setup, and my OTP pattern would still be blank after I selected it... But I still went to my home screen and opened up messenger and an option came to enable it.
Nice!
I tried and was unsuccessful. I have Straightalk.
Don't forget You need to be on Messages Beta before starting the process.
The steps I followed were from the top comment on the reddit post. The top comment guy simplified the instructions, I recommend following those.
I woke up and it's all over the web now though. I'm sure there might be some more clearer instructions.
I had this working as well for a couple days. This afternoon it seems to have disappeared though. The only thing that I can think of that I did to lose it was change one of the options under chat features. I changed the "resend via sms/mms" option to "ask" or something like that. When I got home from work I noticed that the chat features option shows the "chat features unavailable for this device" screen.
I was going bonkers as to why I could get so close but it end up just not working.... Then to read closer that NO Dual SIM devices are supported right now.
After Google Play updated Messages Beta and Activity launcher, RCS no longer works. Update came in last night 10/31.
Edit:
After uninstalling latest update and reinstalled Messages 5.2.051 (Pegasus_RC05_xxhdpi.phone) (arm64-v8a) (400-480dpi) (Android 5.0+) everything is up and working again. If anyone needs help with the steps I took to fix let me know.

Try and uninstall activity lunchers update as well and reinstall the old one. Clear data on both messages and activity and restart phone and try all steps again.

It doesn't support dual Sims if you have 2 installed. It works perfectly if only one SIM is installed. I can't speak if you have 2 installed as I only have one.
