Lock all buttons except power button ? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I have recently upgraded frm wm 6.1 HTC Tytn II to HTC Touch Pro 2 6.5
I like the new phone but I do not like 6.5 operating system.
The biggest thing that annoys me is that my my 6.1 had "key lock" in settings.
This allowed me to turn on the device by pressing a button other than the power button. I can't do this in 6.5. I dont even have the option. I have to press the power button everytime to wake up the phone. Can someone out there please help me!!! Is there a fix for this somewhere in the registry? If not,
i might consider going back to my solid and more stable kaiser.
Look forward to hearing from you

I think that this program will do the trick. It will let you remap all your hardware keys to the action that you want.

"Lock" shortcut not working in WM6.1?

I've noticed since installing Kavana's 6.1 ROM (great ROM, btw), that I can no longer use my red disconnect button as a shortcut to lock my phone.
In the past, I would just depress the red disconnect button for a few seconds and it would lock the phone, now I can only do this by hitting the left side power button to bring up the quick menu to do this.
Is there a way to get the shortcut back?
Thank you,
Tim
Locking Dash
I have always held down the z key to lock my phone. This works for me in WM6.1
Thank you, never tried that method, the key is smaller than the red disconnect button, but it'll do. - Tim
Strange. It works for me by default and I am using this ROM:
RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080320_WWE.exe
(apparently this is the same as the 080318 ROM, but with the defaults that he said were turned off actually turned off).
Strange it's working for me now as well.... but yesterday depressing the key would do nothing. Being a Windows OS I should have known I'd need to reboot. ;-)
False Alarm

when in doubt.... Reboot!!!!!!!
Is there an auto key lock function or application available for WM 6.1?

Remapping buttons but can't get to Windows

Can anyone help?
I've been given an HTC P3300 as a taxi driver which runs GPRS taxi software by Cordic along with TomTom Navigator. It's a great system but I'd like to be able to get into Windows and remap the buttons, especially the power button. The software seems to have hidden Pocket Windows and locked all the buttons. The most annoying 'feature' is that accidentally touching the power button shuts down the PDA, whereas on other HTCs it stays in standby and requires a long push and asks for confirmation to shut down.
Can anyone suggest a way of getting to Windows Mobile (OS 3.13 mean anything?) and remapping the buttons, or at least forcing a confirmation for pressing power.
Also, TomTom won't save any preferences. I'll try another site for advice on this but again if anyone knows of this issue and a solution please let me know.
Cheers,
Colin

Volume Keys in WM 6.5.1

When I was using 6.5 ROMs the Volume keys would be disabled if the device is locked but with 6.5.1 the are not. So every time I put it on vibrate it eventually comes out of vibrate when the buttons get pressed in my pocket or in my holster. Does anyone know of any registry keys to edit to disabled them when the phone is locked. Locked meaning when I hold the End Key down for a few seconds to lock the device. Thanks in advance.
I tried this which I found in the Touch Pro forum:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"DisableVolumeKeyDuringLock"=dword:1
It failed. And I agree, that is a frustrating aspect of new 6.5.1 roms. That and so many of them have that lame old WM5 volume graphic installed on them.

Key Lock in WM 6.5?

I'm talking about the keylock where if I press any certain key it will wake the device. AKA unlock/lock keys when device is off.
I know I had a Touch Diamond 6.5 ROM with that option in it. Whether/how it was added I don't know. Is there a cab with that option to bring back to 6.5?
Thanks.
Maybe this would help, you know that pressing the home/end call button for 1 second or so lock's the phone? But for unlock you have to slide.
That is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about how the keys are locked when the device is off. Whereas I can not turn on the device by pressing a button other than the power button. On 6.1 there is a keylock option. Not on 6.5, however I have seen it on some ROMS...
Anyone?
You can turn on the device (when it is completely off) by pressing on any button other than On/Off button?
I'm looking for this too. It was on my Kaiser 6.5 software but not on my Touch Pro 2. Different threads have said you can do it with HKCU/ControlPanel/Keybd/DefaultKeyLock = 0, then soft reset but that didn't seem to do anything for me.
The answer is... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\OEM\KEYBD "KeyLock" = 0 (default is 1) then soft reset. Works like a charm.

Any simple cab to remap PTT to do what Vibra Switch used to do?

I want to toggle between Vibrate and Ring+Vibrate with the PTT button.
If you're talking about the PTT button them my guess is that you have a Tilt2 -- and if that's the case then all you need to do is press and hold the far right hardware button on the front ("hang up"): this will switch between the ring you have set (presumably vibrate+ring) and vibrate.
Now you've got the PTT button free to map to something else useful. For mapping I would suggest the Rhodium Keyboard Controller (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240).
Yes. I do have the ATT Tilt Two.
I'm running the stock rom. I used Crud Scraper to remove the bloat. When I press and hold the end call, it locks the phone. I have no need for that function because when the screen is off on the Tilt 2, the keys lock, unlike on the Tilt 1. I had to use S2U2 on my old Tilt.
Look for the setting
I think it is start>settings>Personal>Long End Key to change the behavior of the 'hold end key'.
The link provided by pistou will do what you need with the PTT button.
I decided to use the PTT button to turn on the Comm Manager.
I copied it from the windows directory to the start menu, so that it shows up under the button options. Now I can disconnect data more easily for added battery life. Thanks for all your help.
