Great job developers! amazing that this phone has a newer build than my Galaxy S7

I came to view the GNex forum because I just bought five of the things on eBay and wanted to know my options, was expecting Lollipop but holy cow did I get a friendly greeting of Marshmallow!! It is cool that this phone has been alive for this long.
Samsung's 2016 flagship can't get past MMB29M for the time being but this phone can!!
Great job everyone, can't wait until N is officially released and I see N on the Galaxy Nexus before the S7!

Unlegacy-Android has a 7.1.0 ROM out now (and specifically for all - yes; I said ALL - versions of our beloved GNex) - I've been running it since the week after Thanksgiving (replacing CM13 - which had replaced JB). The oldest Android phone in the house (this was originally mom's GNex - and she bought it pre-owned from Amazon; she now has a Samsung J3 purchased from the local VZW store; said J3 is ALSO still on Marshmallow). Therefore, the oldest smartphone trails only the Google Pixel/XL of all of VZW's current OR former carrier-specific phones; so much for logic.

Zui 4.0

I've just read about the upcoming new version of the zui: it'll come to the z2 too, this summer. Has anyone read about this?

Yeah. I've also heard 3.7 is coming next month but no proof (just on tweet on twitter).
4.0 is official however.

Talk of the ZUI 4.0 isn't new. If you may notice in that thread, 4.0 is planned and being developed since over 6-8 months. However, official confirmation is just starting to arrive from different news sources.
For Ex. https://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/ne...-specifications-features-release-date-1910439 here, Motorola P30 Note is getting ZUI based ROM and slated for launch soon in India.
So ZUI 4.0 is well on track but no official announcement yet on Z2 Plus update availability for 4.0. However as per @SteelBodyX sources do confirm Z2 Plus is a potential candidate for 4.0

a51 port?

Hi devs, i was wondering whether it would be possible to port the A51 rom to our A50 devices, so we can get Android 10 and one ui 2.0 a little earlier. I think most of the specs are similar between the two devices.

Many packages still need to be modified. Not worth the hassle.
A50 is expected to get Android 10 ( One UI 2.0 ) soon.
Samsung is already rolling out Android 10 for M20/M30 reportedly in India and other regions ( phase 1 ).
The previous time-line of A50 getting Android 10 in 2020 quarter has been dumped.
A50 users can expect Android 10 as we slide on to the next year in a month.

Good to hear. As far as I read the A50 will only get Android 10 in may.. do you have any sources that I could read about this change in update scheme (not that I don't trust you :highfive: )

I don't rely on reading sources.
I used to work at Samsung as a developer, I've inmates over there.
A51 will be out soon with Android 10 while flagship devices Note and S series have already started receiving Android 10 from yesterday.

Sorry buddy, but I don't understand what you mean by q2 / q3

2. Quarter or 3rd quarter of 2021

I dont see the point of updates if the phone is working optimally as such.
I am still on Android 9 with one UI 1.1, rooted and moded to my liking.
With stagnant development and not much interest in A70, I will keep this phone as such as along as possible

When will we be getting it, and which version of ONE UI will support it?

we will probably get it with One UI 4.1.1 when the new Foldables come out.

I have read that we're looking at the back half of this year for the fold and flip 4...

Google announced that the fold 3 will be getting 12L features soon

No. One UI 4.1 started rolling out today. You can get the update with March security patch at any moment

I never got the February security patch.

Once Google releases it, Samsung will have to engineer it for the foldables. So you're still looking at a few months at least for that. We probably won't see it till later this year.

SOT, but got my one ui 4.1 from VZW today.

whats new in this 4.1 update for us, i cant find any video for it

Reports that I have seen in passing state that Sammy may not have 12.1 ready for us foldable people until late Q2 to early Q4.
