Replacements for Sense Apps - Desire General

CyanogenMod 6 is really cool, but I know a lot of people won't want to use it because of the Sense apps.
Share your alternatives here!
I'll start with one to get going.
Replacements:
HTC Dialer > Dialer One (Free)

LauncherPro plus, has some Sense'ish widgets.

[Q] HTC Weather provider

I have installed a non-Sense ROM (Cyanogen 7) and I am having problems with the weather updates.
My question is, what website was the provider in the HTC Desire Stock Sense ROM?
Thank you!
accuweather.
I'm running LeeDroid with the stock apps. When you tell me where I can find the host I could help you.

After flashing to CM7, I had some issues with some market weather apps. I use WF & Clock widget (free version) No problems since install.
There is a news and weather app which you could use by default.

I am a little addicted to sense-like weather applications and I was looking for something more configurable, especially on the weather providers. But I guess since there is no unified standard for that... it's a lot of work to have support for a group of them.

Apex luancher, Nova Launcher & Sense Widget won't get along

Why do Sense widgets didn't appear when I use Nova or Apex launcher??
does it need root access?
Explaination please..

Stock widgets will not be available if you use any other Launcher.
Thats true across all phone and all launchers.

Yes, but is there any way to circumvent this? I love the sense Music widgets....
Nope... not as far as I know...
Even if u liked, say, Go Launcher widgers, u cudnt get them on ur Sense launcher.
Hopefully, some1 will find a way around this someday!

idk. no one has confirm that. I think you should wait for someone to confirm it.
You can't add Sense Widgets on another launcher. They are based on the Sense Launcher and they are coming along with them. Root does bring nothing.

You can root no matter what software version do you have. And after you do, you can easily uninstall programs that are stock and you don't use (I personally don't use soundhound so I deleted. Maps also). And I too had that software version. I have it now also, but I have root and the rom is becoming modded now (I've added stuff, deleted stuff etc.).
And for htc widgets on another launcher, only if HTC give their OK for this matter, only then we can import/export those widgets onto another launcher, but I doubt this will be achieved in the near future. The good thing is that, HTC has now opened their sources for Sense, so rom developers can easily make roms with sense.

I downloaded it on my Flyer and transfered it to my One X via Titanium Backup. It's a really nice launcher on the tablet, but it sucks ram and battery on my One X. So I set up Apex to look like Chameleon.
Could anybody tell me how to install this on the htc one x

v1.0.8 is the latest as we speak
Works on cm 10.1 ROM. Nice job.
Any chance of using them as additional notification LEDs since the actual one is a little too stealthy

It'd be much better as a widget that cycled through the 4 settings (imho)

Fantastic mod and app! Just what I was looking for!
As the developer of that app, I just wanted to chime in here. First of all, it was very cool to find this thread! I'm glad to hear that it was working for some of you. Second, I've done some work to make this app work correctly on the HTC One. If you'd like to try the latest beta version, please see the newly-created thread in the HTC One forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2402153. I'd really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Any change you could make it a cyclic 1x1 widget please? I can always find a spot on a homescreen for something this useful but rarely bother searching for an app.
Cheers.

Thanks for the idea. I've got an issue for this on the Google code page, and so should be implemented some day. I agree that it would be useful too.
