Ok so the other day i turned my phone on and it went straight into the bootloader and the volume and power buttons arent responding. When i try to connect to adb it doesnt recognize that the phone is connected. I know i have adb set up right cause i can connaect my HD2 to it and it connects fine. I searched on here but couldnt find an answer and i dont wanna do anything that could make the situation worse. Does anyone know what i should do or is there a thread somewhere that would help me? Thanks
Anyone? I also have it rooted with eng-hboot and s-off and have been on CM7 for a while. I dont think its a prob with the wrong drivers either cause i have htc sync installed . I did try PDAnet but it fails at the last step and says something about failed to handshake.

Are you s-off or s-on? If it's s-off try putting an ruu as a pc10img.zip on your sdcard and flashing it through bootloader.
if that dont work......
Try removing your SD card, then see if you can get to recovery through the BL.
if that dont work......
You need adb. I'm not saying it will work but its worth a shot. If you don't know adb there is a guide in the dev section.
If you can get adb connected to your device after you adb shell into phone you can run "adb reboot recovery".
If you have the fastboot binary, type this in your computer's Terminal:
fastboot reboot

I'm having the same darn issue...I tried the fastboot connect command "reboot recovery"and it does the reboot but comes right back to the boot loader screen no options to scroll and select anything...phone was fine until it froze and couldnt do no reboot power down or anything had no choice to pull the battery...theirs gotta be a work around on this...
im also having a problem, my phone has broken volume buttons, i can get to recovery but after that i dont know what to do since theres no volume buttons. i want to refllash cm7 but how?

Nothing, I can boot in the rom I have but its not connecting to Sprint nor can I connect to my wifi. Any chance I can get it back?

I just have to point out that this should be in the Q&A section, as nothing is developed.....
Is anything lighting up? What happened to it to get this way? Have you done a battery pull yet? Do you have a jig?
Edit: If you can boot into the rom, download a terminal.apk and type "su", the type "reboot recovery" that should boot you into recovery....
If you cant get a signal to use data to download, use wifi

You guys are right, I've been around long enough to have known better. can anyone move it to Q & A?
When i boot my phone and try to install the zip gives me this error that i will show bellow...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature

Sorry if its stupid but first with this phone and using android system.
if u are new why trying to install this theme. what u need is to go to the section with q/a. the phone is telling u that it and you are not prepared for this theme. and to give u an advice - read about rooting and cwm.

It's not a stupid question. Maybe creating a thread isn't the way to go since you could have asked the question in the thread where you got the theme.

I got an uge error now, i think i lost my phone.

What have you done to your phone prior to trying to install this theme? What rom are you using? And don't worry, it's pretty tough to brick this phone.

I was asking the moderators to take this thread over to the Q&A section of XDA.
Isn't the Illusion rom already ICS themed? Anyway, you had that rom so you must have CWM recovery. Turn off the phone (or take the battery out) and go into recovery (Volume up + Home + Power button and let go of Power when you see the Samsung logo). Hopefully you have a backup which you can simply restore. If not, wipe data, wipe cache partition and dalvik, and flash the Illusion rom.

Can't what. You don't have CWM? If so, then go here and download Odin and use it to flash any of the official firmwares you choose. The thread has a helpful guide if needed.

Any...doesn't matter. But ideally you want the latest which is XWKK5. Then download this kernel from Chainfire to root the phone and re-install CWM. Flash CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.tar (from the attached zip) as PDA in ODIN, without repartition.

Curious? Have you installed Samsung usb drivers in your pc?
EDIT: Let me get this straight, you put your phone in 'download' mode and connected the phone to the pc using the usb cable and the computer is saying usb device not recognized?
Yes to use phone on computer he install them automatic. Now its stuck on the begging on the phone cant even enter to nothing... the phone dont go forward

Who's he? Anyway, reinstall Samsung usb drivers and reboot pc and try again.

Frankly I don't care that you have lost everything. Apps are replaceable and yes, you will have to spend much of your time reinstalling them, change settings etc. But the main task now is get back your phone to at least working order. Have you even tried to reflash the original firmware by using Odin and going into 'download' mode?

maybe i did something wrong or i should have had something else already installed but after i did the upgrade evrything works but download mode. i wanted to flash a pure android ics rom and i cant get into download mode to do that. the phone will charge fine so i can only come to the conclusion that the phone isnt being recognized by the computer so that it can go into download mode. i have tried different methods to get into it and nothing works. i also tried reinstalling the drivers over and over and nothing.
i wanted to know if anyone is having this problem and has found a solution to it or does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?
i also wanted to know if there was some way to flash or downgrade without connecting to computer?

turn off the phone and hold down both vol up and down then plug the usb this will put the phone on DL mode

Hello all, I've made a bit of a balls up and appear to have deleted the bootloader on my G3 (D855) when I tried to install TWRP. Every time I start the phone or try to get in to the bootloader I end up on the TWRP screen. I have ADB access but I have no idea where to start to recover from this. I think I may installed twrp-2.8.0.0_d855-signed.img instead over the bootloader. Is that even possible?
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Actually, its not what I thought. I've managed to get in to the original bootloader. So the question is why is it taking me to TWRP screen all the time?

if u flashed it via flashify maybe u chose kernel.img instead of recovery
I think you're right, but how do I get do I fix it? I've manged to reflash a ROM and it says it worked but I always end up at the TWRP screen after a reboot.

I've been trying the the last 2 days to sort this out but have come against a stone wall. I've tried on 3 PCs and I cannot get the phone connected via USB (other than with ADB or MTP). To clarify my situation (as my initial post is probably incorrect)....I have manged to "replaced" the Android OS with a TWRP. Every time I start the phone I end up on the TWRP screen. I can boot in to the stock recovery. I have the correct KDZ file and Flash Tool but can't connect to the phone to re-flash.
Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.
What does it say on the PC when you plug it in?
Is it picked up in Device Manager?
Can you get in download mode?
Yep, its picked up as "G3" but with no drivers. I've downloaded and installed the LG unified drivers without any luck. From other pots I think I should be seeing it as "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port"?

Now I know what download mode is! And yes, I'm in download mode now. The drivers have loaded!! Going to try a reflash now.
Thank you everybody who helped, the phone is working again! Clearly what I thought I knew does not match what I actually knew!!
