Im running the latest fresh rom. Im using the plantronics backbeat 903's. I cant get it to control the music app or any other music app besides double twist. If i press pause it pauses the headphones but not the music on the phone and I cant change songs. I read that people are able to use headphones to change songs on pandora and last.fm but I cant. Does anyone have any insight into this problem? Ive already tried unpairing and repairing. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
anyone????
Kernel? Hardware version? Have you tried uninstalling DoubleTwist? I've only gotten A2DP to control the Android/Sense Music app (Pandora, andLess, and RockPlayer haven't worked).

I was looking forward to using the ICS stock music player, but for some reason the latest google music player does not work well with my bluetooth stereo. I cannot pause music via the controls, i can only play. It also does not support avrcp 1.3/1.4, which is strange since google music from the market DID on my droid x.
I have tried getting poweramp, but i have had my phone restart 3 times since installing it and have now uninstalled it.
I tried downloading winamp, but with the bluetooth controls enabled in the app, the stock music player overrides it and and it seems like winamp needs to be updated for ICS.
Playerpro's settings do not work in ICS and I cannot even get to the menu to enable music controls.
Does anyone have a solution for this? It is strange, as I thought google would have sorted this out by now.
I use playerpro, works fine for me, has did since I got the phone.

I love PowerAmp, still the best music player in my opinion.
I get my Nexus tomorrow. Is there anyone else having problems with it? I've really been counting on Poweramp working.
No problems here. PowerAMP is amazing.
I have Mortplayer on my GN.
so it looks like it might not be poweramp. it could by a bug. If you look here at post 3, http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12773-random-shutoffs/ you will see a guy links to 3 threads that talk about restarts happening when some type of sound is happening..
so it might be a bug in ICS
Mortplayer works great with ogg files over Bluetooth in stereo. I've been using Mortplayer all the way back to the Windoes Mobile days. It's lite and funcctional.
PowerAmp!!
Custom rom and been through several kernels, Power Amp has been great since I first loaded it on the stock phone.

So been using PowerAMP for music, which has been great. I only have one issue currently. I have bluetooth headphones connected, manually launch PowerAMP, audio works great, however if I hit "Skip" on the headset the default music player starts to play and PowerAMP pauses. Even if PowerAMP is in the foreground this happens.
In PowerAMP I saw an option to allow you to control with the headset controls, which I have enabled, and saw an option to up the priority of PowerAMPs headset controls so it would override other apps( theoretically anyways ). However it still launches the default music app.
I haven't seen any options in the default music app that allows you to change the bluetooth setting, and I have PowerAMP as the default app for music.
Am I missing anything here? Anyone else have this issue or is it just me? Couldn't find anything Googling around.
+1 for making a reference to a video game from the 90's! I loved Mortal Kombat!
Not that I have any suggestions, but what ROM are you running? I'm currently on Caulkin's E4GT EL29 ROM, using PowerAmp and a bluetooth headset but I'm not having any problems with the default music player...

I was on that same ROM Caulkins, and still had this problem. Last night I flashed Blazer 3.8 and then restored apps and system data with Titanium( System data restoring may have re-caused this issue, not sure, didn't test before the restore ) and I'm -still- having this problem. Annoying as hell, lol.
never had such problem, except once... and at which time I used Titanium Backup to delete the stock music app. problem solved, stock music sucks anyways.
If you dont want to fully delete the file you could always freeze the stock music app.

Same: Rooted; used SystemAppRemover to yank stock music app. Should be universal solve for any ROM. However, yes there are many other apps to remove stock apps

This. I also have poweramp and have not ran into this issue. Now, I did have to remove the stock player from my EVO for the same reason but this situation has never happened on my E4GT currently on this same ROM.
Have you tried to change the defaults? There is a program on the market called Default App Manager that would allow you to change all 'associations' to poweramp.
Note: Back when I had the EVO, I found myself being unable to launch poweramp when I clicked on a music file from a file manager, the phone would display a 'not valid file' error even though I was able to play the file fine using poweramp's library. The only way to fix it was to restore the stock player and then any file that was 'tapped' would launch properly using the stock player.

our problems are sort of similar. i use a wired headset that has inline controls. when i press the play/pause button, it launches dialer... the skip buttons dont work. manual says it works like a champ for iphone (idk, havent tested) i have the same settings on in poweramp. maybe its just poweramp?
Hi there. First off I'm wondering if anyone else sees this as a problem. I have Bluetooth stereo headphones with A2DP (pause/play, next, previous buttons). When I leave my house I tend to grab my headphones, throw them around my head and switch them on. Unless a music player (like the stock Google one) is already running in the background, pressing play on the headphones doesn't do anything until I actually open a music player app. This is rather frustrating especially if I've got gloves on already or if I've thrown my Note II into my pack.
Is there anything I can do to basically make sure that a music player is already running or will start up on and A2DP connection and/or A2DP button press? I've searched for music player apps that simply stay backgrounded but haven't found anything that actually works. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you tried poweramp music app? Its always work for me when I push play button on my lg bluetooth headset. I don't use stock music app.
Hi!, I had a serious nerve racking problem with Samsung Galaxy W since I flashed it with another official stock ROM in which I got much more languages including the french one. But the problem is that when the earphone is plugged in to listen to my music, it starts switching the soundtrack I am playing to another one that I wasn't playing, it even stops playing :'( . And it's the same **** everytime I want to play my music from the default music player or the one installed like Poweramp. So please help me to fix this!. Even when I wanna listen to my FM radio it shuts down by itself and I could hear some weird beeps from my earphone. The Autostarts apps won't solve at all my problem! :'(
[Q] My phone plays and stops music by itself when the earphone is plugged in, but once removed from it everything works fine! :'(

I am not sure about the default music player, but poweramp has a feature like the one you described. When you plug in the headphone, it resumes playing. (An autostart musicplayer feature). Check the settings under poweramp player and hopefully you will see that option somewhere. I am not using poweramp so I can't tell you where exactly that option would be.
The other issues you desribe, I don't know. It may have something to do with the conflict between poweramp and FM radio... Maybe. I am not sure. See what happens when you disable the option I described above.
The stock rom don't have a FM radio app, so use Spirit FM, search the apk and download it.
And this problem happens with me too, but only sometimes. When I'm using a Bluetooth headset, no problems, but when I use a normal earphone, some lags occur.

Okay thanks for your help but now the problem is solved after disabling the "media button pressed" event's from the pre installed music player and many other apps running on your Android's system. It requires root access to be allowed "Autostarts.apk". Anybody else having the issue could use this app to fix it!
