Is it possible to watch hulu on the evo? If so could you inform me how.....thanks

Nope, Hulu blocks mobile platforms directly. I just tried with my rooted Fresh ROM. No go.
Actually if you're running a 2.2 ROM you can install a hacked flash that allows for hulu access. I do this currently on the cm6 ROM. Check out this thread for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688054

Could you not just change your user agent?
If Hulu ran on my laptop the way it runs on the phone, then i would say it is crap. But i think we need to remember that this is a service that is actively blocked by Hulu. To get it on the phone you have to use a hacked flash apk, then change the user agent and basically trick the browser into thinking you're on your phone instead of the computer.
It's choppy, but its also trying to run more data than the phone was meant to handle, i think. If we had a data stream from Hulu that was desgned specifically for our phones, then i'm sure we'd have better performance.
This is most defenitely NOT my area of expertise, but just an observation.

Not for "watch instantly". All you can do is modify your queue. Might as well go straight to their website for that.
no, but there is an app called "playon" that allows you to stream netflix and hulu (and other services) to your phone via your home computer. It is pretty cool, but you have to pay for the service after the trial runs out.
Paying for yet another service, on top of netflix, seems ridiculous to me. It is just not worth it IMO. But if you must have it, this will definitely work.

Netflix is sooooo worried about Android security and us being able to copy hd media from that...RIGHT! Because Sony didn't just get severely violated on the Playstation Network which Netflix plays on, and may (or may not) have gotten credit card information. Yeah Netflix, worry about Android and Google security. Perhaps they never heard of a jailbroken Iphone.

As if copying on a computer isn't easier. If netflix was supported on android...Netflix would prolly get a +15% boost profit.
=/ that's my speculation
Yeah Netflix is all in a tizzy over Android's open source environment. Apple has their systems on lock down so Netflix has no problem implementing their DRM. Also, Netflix runs on Silverlight, which we do not have. I don't know where the Moonlight (Silverlight for Linux) mobile initiative is right now. I'm not hopeful though. Without Silverlight or support from Netflix, I'm doubtful we will get it any time soon.
Yes, it's called "Mobile Queue"
Was able to get my Dinc to run the Netflix app with no issues. Pushed it over to my A101 and no dice. Anyone mess with this yet?
Here's a link to the APK in my dropbox.

I have Netflix working.
I have UrukDroid-1.1beta2 installed on my Archos 70 but should work with other ROMs if you are rooted.
You just need to open & edit /system/build.prop
I used Root Explore but any other root file editor should work.
Change ro.product.brand=archos
to
ro.product.brand=HTC Vision
and
ro.product.manufacturer=archos

I can confirm this working on A70S running Uruk 1.0 from internal memory. To help others, I used a terminal to gain root ($su), made a backup copy of the build.prop (#cp /system/build.prop /system/build.prop.bak), then copied the build.prop to / and changed the name to build.txt (#cp /system/build.prop /build.txt). Then I changed the permissions to make it writable (#chmod 666 /build.txt). Personally, I hate vi. So, I used astro file manager to open the build.txt file and edit it with the above changes. Then back in terminal copied the edited build.txt back to where it belongs (#cp /build.txt /system/build.prop) and restored the proper settings (#chmod 644 /system/build.prop) and then rebooted via holding down power and selecting reboot.
I only played with the streaming for a few minutes before work this morning. Seems decent. I am really looking forward to getting into it tonight. Thanks for the file changes!
UPDATE: I got a chance to compare the netflix app on my A70S compared to endgadget's walkthrough video on the Nexus S. The app runs, in my opinion, a little slow both loading the first time and in changing tabs or viewing information on a movie/show. But when I loaded my app while watching the Nexus S on the video load, they took about the same time. Same thing with everything else - very comparable times to switch between tabs or get information on a movie/show. As far as quality goes, I have not watched any video completely start to finish yet. But I have noticed some variance in quality. An episode from Season 2 of the Office looked a little pixelated but Austin Powers Goldmember looked nice. Both we very watchable though. The initial buffer took a few seconds longer than I would like but when skipping forward in the video, the video played rather quickly. Overall I am happy the app is out, and will use the crap out of it, but there is definitely some room for improvement.
Do we absolutely need root to edit the build.prop?
I know I can get the file to my PC to edit. I don't know if I need root to get it back...and I did the firmware update.

I didn't want to post this in the CM9 dev thread because it is not dev related.
First off..
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/blog/security-and-you
Users will be able to configure their exposure to root as:
Disabled
Enabled for ADB only
Enabled for Apps only
Enabled for both

So this is what I am thinking.. The CM team is not just going to come out and say "This is how we get around Google's (and other's) 'you can't use this app if your device is rooted' thing".. But if you can disable/enable root with a setting it seems to me you wont have to worry about not being able to access certain apps, or features of apps, because of root.
Example: My "Horrible Bosses" BD came with a digital copy only accessible through the Flixster app. Because of the "security risks" Flixster will only let you view/download the movie on non-rooted devices. The simple fix to this was to download OTArootkeeper (which is an awesome app), the app essentially is a switch to enable/disable root access. Turn root off, Flixster never knows the difference.
It seems to me CM has just integrated this feature into their ROM, and maybe improved upon it. Any time an app (Flixster, Google Video & even maybe Google Wallet) will not work because you are on a rooted device, just turn it off. I have even heard of some people that cannot access databases at work because of root, seams like the same thing applies here.
So what do y'all think? Does this sound like a legitimate thought? Obviously being rooted is a security risk, and CM is becoming more mainstream. But still.. Do you think I am that far off? And do you think the "feature" will function just like I have described it? Just came to get you opinions on this change.
Sounds like you've hit the nail on the head there, although I don't see why company's don't want you consuming there content if your rooted.

Why does root matter? I am rooted and can rent movies from the market with no issue. Yet people say video is blocked for rooted users. It just worked for me. Maybe cause i am rooted on stock?

... possible advantage: have a phone manufacturer use CM as their firmware? yes....?
This was actually mentioned sometime earlier... a month or 2 ago... the idea was that if the ROM provided the best level of customization, root really should not be needed for the average user... but the ROM would still have the option to enable root if the user wanted too...

That's the problem though. The average user would not know what root is and activate it and would do something to their phone that would cause problems. U.S. carriers will not like this.
I wonder if Tasker or llama could be setup to turn root off when a particular app runs?

Can someone tell me why I still have ads on my apps?
I am rooted with one-click, installed Calkulin's rom 2.9.2 and went ahead and installed Adfree to see if it would help. Still have ads.
Never had a problem with the rooting or flashing the rom. I have also tried several modems trying to find the best for my phone. I currently have FC18 installed and it seems to be the best so far, Sat. lock is almost instant.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Odd...that is precisely the core of the ad-block... basically any address that points to that, say ad.doubleclick.net gets redirected internally to the loop address, i.e. it wont be able to load the ad since its being blocked. It could be that the application is getting the ad from somewhere else. Try droid wall.
So i recently rooted my phone and installed custom rom in it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171110
It works well, but one thing is bothering me very much. Mobile data works perfect on other programs like Delfi.lt or 15min or Google Play Market, but when it comes to a simple browser it cant load anything. It loads up a bit of the loading bar and freezes. This is really bothering me.
Before rooting everything went smooth, but now i feel like rooting+custom rom wasnt such a good ideal after all, cause mobile internet is very crucial for me.
Problem :
Browser not working on mobile data
Working :
Browser works on WiFi
Mobile data works on other programs that use internet.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I still have some ideas
Did you full wipe before installing the rom?
Did you make any modifications to the rom before or after install?
Do you have an app that interferes with the browser, or with the 3g signal?
Are you sure thay other apps are capable of using the internet?
Are you sure that the speed isn't too slow for the browser? Maybe you have apps that don't need fast speeds to operate, but browsers do need a decent speed for them to run. Download the speed test app from the play store and do a test. Post the results.
Did you use the sim unlocker? Maybe that messed up some stuff.
Are your internet settings correctly configured? Double check your settings.
Nooooww, I'm out of ideas.
