Anyone running cyanogen 6... Can you upload? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever see, when using the browser, normal upload buttons on web site say "upload disabled"? Does that work with cyan's releases?

Myspace...FINALLY!

Finally, Microsoft has brought to us Myspace for our desires. Enjoy!
Myspace Version 1.0
Sorry, thought I attached the cab. Trying to upload it now, but for some reason its taking forever! Be patient...
Forum won't let me upload the file for some reason so I listed a download link in the first post.
Have you actually been able to get this to work? I try to log on and the wheel icon just keeps spinning. I seem to have a connection, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any suggestions?
its will access myspace network from mobile phone?
Here's the new Version 1.0...this one works. Tested it and been using it everyday! No more lag and freezes or wheel spinning forever.

[Q] Keyboard from Leaked Froyo with Large Spacebar?

I was wondering if anyone had a download link to the old leaked froyo build that had the keyboard with the "hide button" removed and with the spacebar enlarged. I believe it was found in the 7/27 leak, but I can't find the download link anymore here in XDA.
I would like to extract the keyboard from the Rom and use it on the OTA froyo, because, in my opinion, the hide button is worthless and the space bar is to small.
I would appreciate it if someone could send me the link or even better the keyboard apk.
Thanks!
EDIT: Nevermind, I spoke to soon. Just after I posted this I found the download link. I'll post the keyboard apk just in case anyone else wants it.
Please do post that apk, I hate how small the spacebar is.

Truly embarrassing problem.

Hi folks.
Did a search on this but no cigar. The manual keeps this a big secret as well so here goes:
I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to save webpages to the phone. I flat out refuse to believe it shouldn't be possible. I'm positive there is a little trick I haven't tried yet. Even old WM6, being about as stable & reliable as the Greek national economy, had this feature. I don't travel by plane very often but when it happens I usually spend the time on board reading pre-downloaded webpages from a couple of writer sites. The GPRS connection over the north Atlantic tends to be a tad unstable ;-). The browser menu doesn't show this option anywhere that I can see.
Someone please bring me out of my misery and tell me where the function is hidden.
Regards
ELO.

Hit the menu button then add bookmark? Sorry if i miss-understand your question.
So menu--more--save page isn't an option to save the page?
It seems to work fine to me.

Someone Swyped my idea.
I think what they're asking is "is there a way I can download a webpage so I can view it offline later?"
Try Opera Mobile browser. It implemented such a function to allow you save pages and browse them offline.

Hi y´all & thanks for the interest.
@ equlizer:
If i get the works of this then, what your´e suggesting, only saves the page address. When i´m off-line e.g. on a plane i can only view the page if it has been saved in its intire form.
@ dr.m0x:
This would do the trick nicely, exept i don´t have that menu option. Under menu-more i have: Home, Find on page, text selection, page info, share page, Downloads, History, and finally settings.
I´m running stock ROM 1.32.405.3 rooted.
@ Dazultra2000:
That is exactly what i´m asking. Thanks for claryfying.
@ Teroz:
That is an option of course. I just couldn´t bring my self to believe the feature wasn´t there. Dr.m0x appears to have a menu option that i´m missing. I dunno. Maybe there´s something fishy i my ROM, but everything else seems to be humming along nicely.
Regards
Elo.
I'm running the newest 1.86 and don't have that option.
Firefox mobile has it, it saves the webpage to a PDF file. Fx itself is a tad unstable as it is in a test phase, but the save-to-pdf function works pretty well.
I'm on 1.72 and definitely have that option in the stock browser. I also have Dolphin Browser HD installed as my default browser so maybe that is the reason I have the extra functionality. Not prepared to remove it to confirm though.

Multiupload Down?

Is Multiupload not working, as I can't download anything and I really need a firmware for my phone. :-(

multiupload has been down for a long time...
Anyone have a mirror for the Galaxy S2 Camera Hack please?
I noticed it too some days ago, I have a tip for everyone.
Get the link to multiupload and head to google, google for the address and add cache: to the beginning of it. Then you can see the google cache version of the page (hopefully) and get the filename of the shared file, then just google for that filename with full quotes. Hopefully you will find a mirror this way. But be careful, don't blame me if the only mirror is something fake or dodgy!
Random Example below.
Original link:
www.multiupload.com/Z8N3FLM1WY
Go to google.com (or if using Chrome, can do straight from address bar)
cache:www.multiupload.com/Z8N3FLM1WY
Filename is there, yay:
cm7.1.0-RC1-jordan-signed.zip
So now just google for "cm7.1.0-RC1-jordan-signed.zip" and I see plenty of mirrors, that may or may not be available. As it was said, many sharing servers are getting paranoid and premium-only now. Good luck!
jonusc, epic! You are the man! Thank you!
No worries you are welcome I tried to go ahead and find the Camera hack you're looking for myself since I was bored, but I couldn't find it sadly Perhaps you could search around the forum more, it may be integrated in a different ROM already. All the best!

Swype Beta 1.4 Update

Swype Beta was just updated to 1.4. Update details per Android Central, "added Living Language, which takes auto correction and word prediction to a new level with crowd sourced data". Other additions include, "The correction engine has gotten an upgrade, and the new Smart Editor now analyzes your entire sentence, flagging any errors for correction or suggesting the best substitution based on the context of what you're saying, not just the word order."
Please share your thoughts on this version. Download is here: http://beta.swype.com/
That video was hilarious

Thanks Dave, I've always been a huge Swype fan, wouldn't buy a phone unless it was capable of using Swype. This version is pretty nice. Still playing with it. One thing I noticed is, it's not quite as easy to use punctuation as before (like anyone uses punctuation in texts anyway). I used to be able to tap on the last word I wrote and it would give me the option of ! , ? or whatever, now you have to long press the appropriate letter. Not a biggie just something I noticed. Still playing, but thanks for the heads up! :good:
I'm liking the built in themes!
Thanks for the info. Just updated. Hopefully the update will address the problem with personal dictionary disappearing followed by no longer able to add new words.

I've been messing with it for about an hour or so. The smart editor and next word prediction must take time to populate. As for the personal dictionary disappearing, I don't get why they have a register option, but no log in and sync dictionary option  As for adding words, I have had no issues there. One last thing I noticed is that Dragon seems a little more accurate. May be my imagination

One thing I really wish they had was an option to disable Dragon and use Google for voice typing.

There is login and the supposedly sync dictionary option. Under Swype connect, just tap into your registered email/account. Although I'm not sure how it works; I don't see any syncing between my two devices using the same account.
If this is your first time using Swype, then the dictionary disappearing issue I was referring to usually happens in a few days. Whatever triggered it I'm still unclear; I've tried with or without an account, checked and unchecked syncing option, and many other combinations... and it's usually after that disappearance the word addition ceases to work.

I've never had any issues with the voice typing. It works pretty good for me, even when I talk faster or stutter, it picks up remarkable well. Maybe it's just your Canadian accent

Lol! I just find Google voice typing works so well. Also I regularly hit the Dragon button by error due to its proximity to the enter button.
On another note, after a day of use, I have definitely noticed an improvement in word selection while swyping.

I am always open minded to better options & different ideas, but if you are going to post a statement like this, please explain how you have arrived at this conclusion.
I don't think anyone can debate the fact that Swiftkey has the best prediction machine out there for regular typing. I actually use Swiftkey on my tablet, and when drafting long emails on my phone in landscape. Given this I was very excited to try Swiftkey Flow, which I did, for both versions. In my experience, Swiftkey still has a long way to go to catch Swype when it comes to swype typing. Swiftkey Flow is not as accurate or smooth as Swype when swyping. My typing speeds on Swype are 25% faster than when using Swiftkey Flow. This is not surprising given Swype has been doing this since it was founded almost 10 years ago in 2003.

OK..I like the fact it auto spaces after punctuation. I can tell it to learn how I type from SMS, FB, or Twit. It goes out and does it's thing and says it learned. I can now to "Swiping" words in shorthand that I used in GOsms. Genius. I can swipe left quick quick quick and it will start to remove text I may want to remove. The keyboard has a fresh look with various themes. All Swype boards look the same to me. I bid you to try the latest version of flow. ...61. It's much improved

If you like to swype, you can do a period-to-space swype (same for question, exclamation mark, comma, colon, and double-quote). You can also double-tap space to get period-space now. I'm not sure when that was added though.
I love the punct gestures; long press is too slow.
When you stop on a letter and wait for the menu to pop up with the available choices, it would be nice to see the uppercase version of the letter there as well.
Otherwise I have been using Swype since this summer when I got my SG3 and love it.

Swype also auto spaces after punctuation. I have tried both versions of Swiftkey flow. There is no brand loyalty here, I just want the best solution for me.
At the end of the day, this decision is personal and very much driven by what one is accustomed to. Let's bury the comparison discussion for now, the purpose of this thread is for discussion around the new Swype release.
Or just swype from the question mark or exclamation point to the space bar and it will input whatever special character your swyped from..... It's the easiest way.
