After going from 2.1 T-Mobile Eclair Rom to Modaco R5 2.2 Froyo Rom, i can't open wave Attachements. I am using HTC Mail and K9 Mail too. Same Problem with both.
PDF Attachements is possible to open with HTC Mail only. K9 tell me a missing header but i am using this option in the settings, without any positive result.
Is this an Froyo bug? Changed settings in HTC Mail from standard only 25kb limit to complete mail download, but i can't open Attachements. If i try to open wave files the media player opens and tell me unknown format. What goes wrong, please help me. I need the wave attachements, because these are my missed phone calls with messages.

Guys,
Just got my P3600, flashed with bepe WM6 image which is really stable bar for the email accounts disappearing.
Does anyone know of a really simple email app that just downloads from the server but keeps the messages on the server. Also would like it to check every 5minutes and tie in with the HTC today page as it currently displays the outlook email.
Also, what are the must have applications for this? Is there a good list i can have a look through?
Cheers
Must have applications list for P3600 with WM5 can be found on
LDCWeb2.0 (french)
All applications in this list are available also for WM6 or few are now useless (because natively included in the OS).
For your purpose, according Pocket Outlook is not enough for you, perharps you can try emoze or morange.
thanks for the suggestions,
is pocket outlook the version thats loaded on by default as i have problems with the accounts disappearing....
Wondering if anyone can help?
I am using the latest kavana 6.1 ROM.
I connect to my Exchange server and all works perfectly except when I get an email with attachment and select the attachment ... it says 'downloading' but then it just doesn't download it?!
Really frustrating !
I have the same problem too. I am using Windows Mobile 6.1 on my XDA Diamond wirth ActiveSync an the ExchangeServer2003. Bevor i have used WM6 on the XDA Cosmo an i have never had problems with the email-attachments.
Do you have a solution to the problem?
Please, look on the device at the activesync-settings for email. When i confĂgure the Exchangeserver i choose email as html. After one synchronizeprocess it switched to txt and i can't choose the field - its grey.
I hope you understand what i mean - i'm german and my english isn't perfect.
By the way ... realy frustrating too

Does no one else experience this problem?

It is just the Exchange email I have problems with .. can download attachments from POP3 and Gmail Fine !
I was wondering if anyone has been able to use the Gmail java app on WM 6.1 on the excalibur? When I try to log in after I run it, there is some error, the applet closes and I get the message "This file cannot be viewed on this device".
Any ideas? I tried to install a newer Jbed+opera mini+gmail pack yesterday from one of the other forums, but it didn't work very well and had display problems compared to the Jbed version included in the 6.1 roms. Are the newer esmertec jbed versions better? I found several 2008 revisions on the forums, but can't tell if theyre for smartphone or just for WM pro.
Thanks in advance!
Why not just add your gmail account to your phone and skip the java app? It's unnecessary.
I have the same problem. Luckily Opera Mini works fine.

Have to agree, unless you mean using the gmail layout as homepage, to which i don't think works on Mobile devices?
I have been using gmail with the phone's built in email system, which has been OK, except that I cant seem to send any emails through gmail's smtp server. I wanted to switch to the java app because one of the local cell phone providers has a cheap unlimited on device browsing option that doesn't work with the phone's email system but apparently does with the java gmail app. Looks like I'm stuck with opera mini then! Thanks!
I would go to your Gmail account and enable IMAP, then use that on the Excalibur's standard email account handler. IMAP is far superior to POP/SMTP especially when you check mail from multiple locations- any deletions (or even marking something read) are passed up to the server so you only manage your emails once.
There are tutorials on Gmail's site that detail getting IMAP enabled, and also how to configure your typical mobile phone to use the IMAP settings. It was easy for me.
I think the gmail java app works by IMAP also. At least that was my experience with gmail mobile on a blackberry.
I am having the same problem as the initial post. has anyone figured this out? please don't tell me to use wm's native email client. I know I can do that. i need to use gmail's java midlet. i have tried installing other midlet managers but they don't work either. is there a way to uninstall the dash's native gui java midlet manager?

Using the phones email client takes away your search ability as well as the label system which I use alot.
Hi,
I'm on the Ricky/Kavana 080408 ROM, and I'm using the latest Yahoo Go 3.0 release, which I downloaded today from http://get.go.yahoo.com (via the Pocket IE browser). The about menu in the Yahoo Go carousel says:
Build 3.0.43-02 (6)
Smartphone_240x320_320x240
U.S. (English)
The Yahoo mail widget doesn't have the option to attach files to emails, but I thought that it was there in earlier versions, and Yahoo's online help says the option should be there.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Does any 2.2 version has include Exchange Activesync ?
I think every 2.2 ROM?!
I've got the DeFrost One and the Stock Android Email Client can handle Exchange Push Mail for me
Stock android since 2.1 has it.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
but some features missing in no sense ones
- emails older 1 month cant be synced
- mail size cant be setted to full
also tried to find something about it, no luck yet ...
Also I have had no luck with the non-sense roms to get synch setup if security requirements are in place (unlock screen with pass or pin)
