Lock screen bug??? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

when i push the Off/screen off button, and want to start the screen again i get lines in my screen and then i have to pull the battery out:S But android works fine Does somebody have a pakkage witch doesn't got this problem? or just one that works fine ? or a fix

This is a symptom of wrong panel type, if you are using panel 2 try panel 3, if panel 3 use panel 2.
Panel 2 and 3 are almost the same, but there are differences, usually these show up when coming out of sleep mode.

Whoot wel i found this in the defaukt-kaiser file 1=sony 2=topoly 3=topoly(probably just the same as 2) What do is need to change?

Ah, depends if you are running from SD or installed in NAND ( if you have to run Haret it's SD ).
If SD then you need to edit the Default.txt file in the same folder that haret.exe is in, look for the line 'board-htckaiser.panel_type=' and change the number there, if it's 2 change to 3, if it's 3 change to 2, save and run haret again
If you wiped WM and installed to NAND, then you will have to edit the NBH, this is best done using Loserskaters NBH editor, which you may already have, depending which kernel you are using, and where you got it.

wel 2 works fine buth the screen just looks un-sharp.... So lets try 1

Won't do any harm, however the sleep issues usually only affect panel 2 and 3, ( as it says, 'probably' the same as 2, it's almost, but not quite ).

i just switched from panel 2 to panel 3(nand), i was getting the lines on wakeup with 2, now i get white screen initially on wakeup. otherwise i can't really tell a difference. i did have to reboot on panel 2 this morning. does this sound like typical behavior?

Thank You, Zenity...
Really new to Android's World, looking to revive a very tired Vario III, I'm testing different versions of Eclair and Froyo.
Today I put on the VaniljEclair_RLS7c (1) and I got a couple of black screen when resuming from sleep...
I noticed a crappy display too (similar to low-color display). Now I set panel type 2 (I don't know why in default-kaiser.txt, board-htckaiser.panel_type was set to 1) and the display gets very clear...
When the device wakes up, I see black and white noise for a while, then the display is drawn and - it seems - everything goes well.
Thank you again, Pino

My symptom is show command lines when wake up, but it is back to normal after a few seconds. I am planning switch from panel 3 to 2 for testing.

Is there anyway the White Screen can change to Black? or some image?

Help for autolock

Hi all, I have a very easy problem, but i can't solve it ..
I need to block my PDA beacuse every time that a textmessage comes, ( and i have got it in my pocket) a lot of programs open accidentally.
How i can block my blackstone, when i switch off the monitor ? Does exist a program for me ?
Thanks Bye
I use AutoLock. It is great.
i have just installed it .. but i cant find it anywhere ..
does it works for win 6.5 ?
Yes, it is for 6.5. Go to Settings\System and you should see an icon for Smart Lock. Select (in addition to the one already ticked) to Lock on Suspend.
In addition I also apply the following tweaks to AutoLock
- a nice skin I use the Dusk skin
- I also apply the HeartofWolf delay fix (this moves the slide to the bottom of the screen and does fix the delay problem to a large extent.)
thanks guys !!

Use this for the delay fix instead (works perfectly and very simple/easy):

Thanks, I also came across that last night after this post and can confirm that it works even better than the HeartofWolf fix. The only issue I suppose is that one needs to remember to redo the fix each time one aligns the screen.
sorry but i have another little problem.. For example, when i'm using the tom tom navigator after 1 minute the screen goes black and "autolock" starts running.. Is there a solution to prevent this ?
Thanks in advance..

What settings have you chosen for lock? If set to Dim Lock, it will lock each time the screen dims. You will need to choose Suspend lock. You can also check the timing of your screen dims and suspend in Settings\System\Power\Advanced

Panel 2 most common.
Best panel type depends on which panel you have, it can be type 1 2 or 3, panel type 2 is the most common, however if you have bad graphics such as wrong colours, streaks or white lines on the display, you probably have chosen the wrong panel type.
Changing panel type is easy under nand, simply flash the correct Panel type NBH.
If you use loserskaters NBH editor you can change panel type by editing the NBH, you should use Kallt_Kaffe's NBH's for this.
Reflashing the NBH does not mean having to reinstall Android again, it does not affect the installed build at all.
panel 2 and 3 seem visually the same but...
I used panel 2 for months because it worked out the gate.
and I finally switched to panel 3 because I read someone talking about wakeup problems
(which I was also having)
and with panel 3 I no longer have wakeup issues.
so just because it looks ok doesn't mean it is.
try all 3 and then you will know.
Panel type
I can totally agree with that. There is only 3, so its not that great effort to try them all.
I still dont know why there are different panel types. Does it have to do with the build of your phone (if it was t-mobile branded for example)?
The reason for 3 types of display is simply supply and demand, HTC just used whichever supplier could supply a compatible panel at the right time, and at the right price, and the reason why there is no pattern to which phone has which panel is that HTC use a 'Just In Time' supply system, which means that any of the 3 types were either available or affordable at any particular time in the process.
From what I can see i the source code the only difference the panel type setting affects is how some hardware registers are setup when the screen is turned on.
Thats's why choosing the wrong panel type works fine until the phone goes to sleep and you try to wake it up.
I'm convinced that we can autodetect the panel type but the question is how. The method used on Vogues doesn't seem to work on Kaisers.
But, Windows Mobile must detect the panel types, so there has to be a way. How Windows Mobile does it I have no idea.

Screen doesn't rotate

so i just got a tilt 2 today. and I can't get screen orientation to change whenever I would like it to. I have calibrated G-Sensor and it works for a few programs. But it doesn't work for the home screen. I put a registry editor on my phone and noticed that the gsensor only has like 5 programs for it. how can i go about fixing this? I've tried to do a few searches, but haven't been able to find quite what I'm looking for
You want to use this:
[APP] G-Config (Configurator for the new SensorSDK 4)
really simple to add programs to your rotation registry.
If you read through that thread There's a way to ad manilla/sense/touchflo3d.... whatever you call it as everyone calls it what they want to the list.
That said, you will find this REALLY annoying. I had it set to that back when I had my touch pro and after a day I got rid of it cause even if you tilt the phone slightly the phone rotated and yeah... just annoying as hell.
An alternative you can have is download RhodiumKBDControl. Search for it on google and you'll find it. You can program buttons on your phone to do certain things. Most people with the tilt2 reprogram their PTT button to do something like open the camera or rotate the screen or adjust the brightness. The cool thing about it is you can program it so a long press does one thing while a single press does another while a double or triple press does something different too. This works for ANY key on our phone.
You're better off setting it to rotate via the button because like said after a day or so you'll just be sick of it.

use the registry editor and you can add the programs yourself. all you need to know is the class name and where the .exe is stored. i have a .reg back up file to add rotation to apps. i originally found it on here somewhere but ive added/removed a few things.
otherwise you can do it manually.. if u want to know how, tell me; No mch time to write, right now

Screen off memo

Hi, every time I write a screen off memo it will not show on the AOD screen. Instead will go directly into a icon. If I tap twice the icon will appear for a brief time and then go back as icon.
The time it will stay on the screen will not be combined with the date/time.
Anyone has the same? Is it a problem of the settings or csc?
Tks

Yes, same here - direct to icon. I saw review videos where the screen off memo actually remains on the display along with the always-on screen. I tried every combination (i think) of always-on display and lockscreen notification settings, but never found a way to get it to stay.
On those same videos, by the way, the main settings screen looked very much like the one of the Note 5 and not at all like Grace UX, which is what i have. So i wonder if there are different software versions out there with some serious differences.
Maybe csc related ? mine is XSG.

If you go into the always on display settings and then about it should show you an update is available. After this is downloaded it is now working correctly.
Not sure why this did not ship on the phone or they make the update more obvious.

I didn't get an update prompt, but this helped me. I opened galaxy apps and looked for updates there. sure enough, there was, and installing it fixed it. All good now!

i didn't check that, but Galaxy App pushed an update of Always-on Display yesterday, and indeed now it works the way it should
Thanks. Update worked. I was wondering why it wasn't working.
