I had a Case-Mate case for the iPhone 3GS back when I had one and I liked it quite a bit. I wouldn't mind having a similar one for my Vibrant.
With that said, an Otterbox of other decent brand case wouldn't be bad either.

Hi guys,
Could you do me a favor and vote (here) on the case mate feedback site so they make a Vroom case for the Desire.
They already make one for the Nexus One (here) but I don't think it fits for the Desire.

I think the Tough Case will be too thick for me, I really just want a thin silicone case so it doesn't wander around when vibrating...

We all kno that a Case-Mate Brushed Aluminum Barely There case with Kickstand'd b the hottest thing since sliced bread for our E4GTs. So, I'd come across a request here for 1 to b produced. I implore u all 2 go & vote. Case-Mate's very good 4 takin' customer feedback, so let's make it happen. I don't kno about y'all, but it's the *only* case I'd evr want 4 my E4GT.

I would have to agree and just voted on your request page. The Pop case is very similar and will be out next month but might be too bulky.
Not sure how effective this will be, but it'd sure be awesome if they made something like that. I wouldn't mind paying a good $40 if it had a quality kickstand, unlike the cheap plastic one on the Sprint case. In any case, I voted.

i think a kickstand will add bulk to it so it would be hard for them to call it a "barely there" case. But i still think brushed aluminum and kickstand would be awesome.

I agree with this entirely...
"kickstand" and "barely there" are mutually exclusive concepts.
I love the way this looks, and I want a truly "barely there" case - if it were condom thin I'd be happiest - so I'd be glad to pass up a kickstand.
But, if - say - the entire aluminum part was hinged as a kickstand, that would be very cool - for a regular-thickness case.

Actually the kickstand and barely there are not mutually exclusive, it just takes a bit of design finesse to achieve. I voted.

I used to use a case-mate barely there on my desire, so when I picked up my SGS2 a while back I grabbed the barely there case to suit and I hated it - I swapped to an SGP ultra thin case and have yet to find anything that feels nicer in my hands.

I am using a case by the company pure gear. this case is fairly thin offers good protection and you have a holster included and was less expensive then other models.

I was going to wait for the casemate, but this looks just as good as the other versions of casemate imo. And why wait when your phone could get scratched up? It takes 10 days minimum to ship, so if you guys are on the fence about ordering it, order soon cause the wait is kinda long

Can the owners comment how much extra thickness does it add to the note?
From the pictures it looks like it will add more thickness than a TPU silicone case.
And how soft are the insides against the phone? No point having a protective cover that leaves a permanent dent on the unit. Thanks in advance
I would advise against the white colour, because over time it will absorb the colour of your jeans/bad etc etc.
The black and Cyan is a good combo, it reminds me of ICS and CyanogenMod. Plus the black will fit nicely with a locked screen + bezel.
I don't think they were specially contructed like the Otterbox (those things take a beating), but it looks quite protective. However its so thick that I wont be getting it as it wont fit in my pockets anymore.
I've already bought the Black&Gray TPU-Silicon case (with kickstand) and I'll post my impressions when I get some "hands on"

Can you guys or girls give me some pointers on what i should be looking for? I have no idea what materiel is best, or design, or anything about getting a case. any info is helpful! Thanks!

I would just say if you want slim basic protection you cant go wrong with a TPU case ,.
If you're really careful with the device, I'd say a regular tpu case will do. But if you have butter fingers I'd recommend body glove shock suit. I have it and it's great and slim

Agree with everyone else about TPU cases, they're the best blend of protection and bulk. I've had 5 different TPU cases for the S3: Mercury, Diztronic (matte black), Boxwave, (all about $10), iGadgitz ($3), and ZooGue ($5 on sale). The ZooGue is the best I've used: http://www.zoogue.com/galaxy-s3-cases/. The Diztronic was too slippery, Mercury was a bit too low-profile with not enough screen protection for me (you may like that one if you want to keep the phone slim though). The iGadgitz was pretty good but just didn't look very good. Boxwave should not be considered.

Not really. There is a post around here with comparison photos with and without the case.
It's the slimmest case I've found offering that amount of protection.

I had a zoo gue for the longest time and was really happy with it. Honestly its the BEST Tpu case. Quality, protection and great price. The Diztronics had nothing compared to the zoogue. I had the all.
I use Urban Armor gear for S3, and i'm happy with it, I got a feeling the phone cant be damaged at all, and the power/volume buttons work great with it (very important for me). I highly recommend it.

Me too. Have been using it for 6 months with the extended battery. Still look and feel very good. Love the case.
Living in Florida, I go to beaches and love fishing, so I wanted a case that could survive water,sand and accidental drops. Ended up getting the lifeproof case even though it is pricey...about $80. However, I love that it is a a pretty small case compared to other life proofs like otterbox
