recovery with exploit for open recovery - Galaxy S I9000 Android Development

Open Recovery
Version: 1.14
Credit for mankind (from alldroid) for the CustomUpdate, on which this recovery is based,
credit for poseidon (also from alldroid) for ADBRecovery.
Click this bar to view the full image.
Features:
- rooting the phone from menu (using ChainsDD su and SuperUser.apk)
- nandroid backup/restore from menu
- apply update *.zip files from menu (located in OpenRecovery/updates under the sdcard root folder, there is a sample one (just unpacks a file named "babble" to /system), no signatures are needed
- wipe data (factory reset)
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik-cache
- adb in recovery, using bash shell
- run a script
- recovery options for applications
Installation:
1) You need to have the vulnerable recovery with exploit, see this thread how to flash it: http://modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=530112
2) Download and unpack the archive on the sdcard.
Usage:
1) Reboot into recovery (hold 'X' button on bootloader 90.78, on others hold camera button; until you see triangle)
2) Apply the update.zip
3) You are now in Open Recovery
this recovery for Motorola Milestone i think if we work together to customize it and let it work with Samsung Galaxy S I9000 what we need to rebuild the vulnerable recovery with exploit first then change some codes in the open recovery scripts.
so please let's work on it.
i get it from this link
http://modmymobile.com/forums/401-motorola-milestone/531599-open-recovery-v1-14-06-11-2010-a.html

Would make a HUGE step forward to have a recovery. Miss the nandroid backups
Lets hope some of the pro's can make it possible

I read that entire first post, then got to the end and saw that none of what I'd read was for the SGS at all!
Of course it'd be nice to have these things on the SGS, hopefully they'll come in time and the SGS will be getting updates at the same rate as CM for Nexus!

How to use
Windows --> Download the ZIP from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/laiot/files/LAIOT.zip/download. Extract it in any folder you want. Then read the README_FIRST.txt file, it contains further information about what you need to do! Here's the content if you prefer reading in your browser:
PLEASE RUN (as administrator) The "Set_Up.bat" First To make sure all dll's and files are distributed where they need to be in order to launch LAIOTools
The reason for this is because this utility does not require the Android SDK to run and has "several key files" that need to be added to multiple directories within LAIOTools for certain Utilities, commands, and features to work properly! This was setup like this to avoid having to manually copy and past the files as well as to keep the download of this utility as light as possible...
Once Set_Up.bat has completed you will see LordAIOTool.bat in the LAIOT root directory. To use the utility, just double click the LordAIOTools.bat to begin...
(Note: There is a version 2 of the same file slightly modified, that file is mainly the same with a slight difference, it does not check to make sure necessary files are installed in the Tools directory for use with this utility - so please do not start with the LordAIOTool2.bat file. It's purpose is used throughout the utility for navigation purposes as a way to bypass the initial file check in the main LordAIOTool.bat file to keep things moving once you have launched the utility.) ..no harm should come if you accidentally used the 2.bat just that some commands may fail while trying to use it!
If you need to install the Motorola Device drivers install the appropriate windows version 32 bit or 64 bit depending on your system, they are located in the folder labeled Moto_Drivers

Linux --> Extract on your ~/ (If you didn't understand - /home/youruserhere), open LAIOT folder, double click "RunThisOnce.sh" select run in terminal, now it's installed, to run it, open a terminal and write LAIOT, it's opened! Please report here the bugs! The Linux version link is here https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/laiot/LAIOT.tar.gz?r=&ts=1335123218&use_mirror=master , everything from Windows version is included except Boot in Ubuntu, but I will add later, sorry for the long wait for the new update, but it's here!

Thanks for choosing Lord AIO Tool!!!
Manual Root Way
STEP 1: Obtaining Required Files
a.) Download the latest version LAIOT for Windows (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468298)
b.) Download and Install the latest version of Motorola USB Drivers from HERE.
http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-...tware_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-Drivers
c. Download http://dl.atftas.us/OEM/Motorola/XOOM/Xoom-Universal-Root.zip2.
STEP 2. Connect the Xoom, Install SD Card, and setup PC
Make sure your Xoom is turned on. Go to settings and click on [developer options]; turn USB debugging ON; turn stay awake ON
Connect it to your PC via USB.
Make sure you have the Xoom drivers installed and that the Xoom mounts on the computer
Place the following files on the root of your SD Card:
Xoom-Universal-Root.zip (downloaded earlier)
Update.zip (from LAIOT Tools Folder)
Install the LAIOT tools folder on c:/LAIOT
Run the LordAIOTool.bat file
STEP 3: Unlock the Bootloader
Copy update.zip from tools folder and Xoom-Universal-Root.zip to external sdcard
Open cmd window on your PC and type the following commands:
cd C:/
cd LAIOT
cd LAIOT
cd CWMInstall
adb reboot bootloader
Your XOOM will reboot into the bootloader (fastboot mode) showing "Starting Fastboot Support Protocol".
Type the following command into the Command Prompt to unlock your bootloader:
fastboot oem unlock
Read the warning and follow the instructions on the Xoom Tablet itself from this point onwards. On the tablet, accept the terms using [VOL -] and [VOL +] keys
[VOL -] then [VOL +] to select
repeat [VOL -] then [VOL +] to select
Once selected, your Xoom will now unlock and format itself, meaning, all data will be cleared and you will go back to a factory reset. and will reboot on its own bringing you to the setup wizard (skip it). (You do want to let it complete the full reboot process this time)
STEP 4: INSTALL ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM)
Make sure you have the SD card installed in the Tablet.
Bring your Xoom back to the fastboot screen by:
hold [POWER] + [VOL +] until it reboots
Place in Fastboot Mode: During the first 2 seconds after the Dual Core screen appears, press [VOL +]
On the computer, type:
fastboot flash recovery CWMTiamat.img
You will get a confirmation message indicating that the flashing is done on both computer and Xoom. Then:
fastboot reboot
Do not let it boot to completion (normal boot) or you will need to repeat this process.
Now on Xoom, apply update.zip and Xoom-Universal-Root.zip from SD Card:
While booting press [VOL -] 3 sec after Motorola Dual-Core screen appears (Android Recovery Screen should appear)
Then press [VOL +] (CWM screen should appear now)
use the [VOL -] & [VOL +] keys to navigate and [POWER]button to select
Select "Apply sdcard update.zip" and then
- select “choose zip from sdcard”
-select “Xoom-Universal-Root.zip”
- Select "Yes"
Select “Install zip from sdcard”
Now Select “+++++Go Back+++++” and then “Reboot system now”
Note: if you are restoring from a rooted image, you should be able to skip these last two installs (update.zip and Xoom-Universal-Root.zip) and go straight to the restore procedure (step 6)
You should be done, but you now need to confirm your root status by:
Download and install “Root Checker Basic” from Google Play and then run the checker. You should get a prompt to “allow superuser”. Click “Allow” and you should get a confirmation that you have root access.
You are complete and now have a rooted Xoom with Nandroid ClockWords Mod installed
STEP 5: Backup image to SD card
Make sure you have the SD card installed in the Tablet.
On your Xoom:
Hold [POWER] + [VOL +] until it reboots
While booting press [VOL -] 3 sec after Motorola Dual-Core screen appears (Android Recovery Screen should appear)
Then press [VOL +] (CWM screen should appear now)
use the [VOL -] & [VOL +] keys to navigate and [POWER]button to select
Select "backup and restore" and then
- select “backup”
-select “Xoom-Universal-Root.zip”
- Select "Yes" and wait while it completes your backup
Now Select “+++++Go Back+++++” and then “Reboot system now”
STEP 6: Restore image from SD card
Make sure you have the SD card with your backup installed in the Tablet.
Select "backup and restore" and then
- select “restore”
-select your desired backup
- Select "Yes" and wait while it completes your restore
Now Select “Reboot system now”

You could just call it Xoom Back-up, Unlock & Root (if a root tool is added).
I think that it's great that young people like you are doing work like this. Good luck!
Cool name

Is this script applicable for Xoom Wifi US model?
is there unroot option?
Hi, I think it is applicable on Wifi US, as it features doesn't have any thing that prevent you... I liked your unroot a good idea , will put on it on next release, the unique problem of the unroot is that it isn't universal, I'm using Tiamat Universal root, so I don't face this incompanility problem there...
Sent from my MZ605 using XDA App
Don't get how this is a full backup.
What about the stuff in userdata ?
(All the script does is adb pull /sdcard/)
Reading everything like that seems unlikely and if it did include everything don't get how the permissions would work. (For the stuff usually in userdata on phones.)
Or does userdata on honeycomb not matter with regards to either permissions or file ownership ?

There is no reason you couldn't do the process in reverse (Splitting the boot.img - doing the opposite to build.prop reflash)
Wouldn't be signed though.
Does the original stay signed if it is backed up with dump_image ?
I didn't put backup for anyother than /sdcard/ because to backup anyother you need root... and I think I maybe add in beta 7 this option... BTW the new thread is on Android Hacking General you can find the link on the start of the post...

I don't think so, to restore the unroot (as I know) you need a CWM backup before the install of update.zip and/or the official image (including the system)

Thanks , I'm working on x10 mini pro, but if you knows anyone can help me on testing please ask him/her to help too ... I only have x10 mini pro and xoom, my brother has a Play, but he don't let me test as it will void him warranty
For user mjamocha66 I wasn't able to send you an email and a PM so the answer is here, after unpacking just double click LordAIOTool.bat on LAIOT folder, no more thing is needed
BUMP, thinking about a new feature, someone can help?

Repart (BlackRose type) Bootloader. Might as well get started on it because it will come to be needed.
Recovery Switch/Flash Script. There will be alternate recoveries that will all have their pros and cons (stability vs. WIP). Likely to be various stages of touch recoveries with multiple beta testing stages for themes, tools, etc. They may not prove to be trustworthy at first but we will all test them anyway.
Since ADB can now be used over wifi, you can look into adding this functionality as well (wireless).
These are just off the top of my head. My friends and wife know I can do this all day. I'll check in on occasion to see how this tool develops.
Keep up the good work.
Ok thanks for the tip

Samsung Rugby Smart (SGH-I847, Galaxy W Variant) Super Thread

Welcome to the Samsung Rugby Smart (SGH-I847, Galaxy W Variant) Super Thread
If you create a support thread related to items in this super or for more generalized help, please PM me or motorhead1991 as a heads up. We've been doing a lot of work on getting things going for the device and can likely provide some amount of help. Having said that, please create a thread with the problem so everyone can benefit if a solution is found.
We are pleased to announce the formation of Team Rugby. A group of us doing development work have gotten together to centralize source code, development and IRC channels. Things are getting under way and we will be posting a bit more as things progress. The two biggest changes are the source code being moved to TeamRugby on github and a new IRC channel on freenode #teamrugby .
Team Rugby is pleased to present....

IRC Channel
Team Rugby can be found on Freenode #teamrugby. A lot of discussion happens there and we also tend to idle in the original IRC channel (below).
motorhead1991 has been kind enough to setup an IRC channel on irc.androidirc.com for us. Channel #rugby-smart We both idle on and off during the day.
I am not responsible for anything bad that comes to your device when using the information posted in this thread. Everything here is dangerous, may cause a brick, will void a warranty and has the potential to just plain wreak havoc. Do not complain you followed my instructions and met with a dead device. Consider yourself warned
I've tested to the best of my ability, but I am one person with one device, I cannot catch all potential failure modes. If you find a problem and a fix, or have information that should be added let me know and I will update the necessary information.
I've noticed an uptick in downloads. Please feel free to post and ask questions.

Tethering
Thanks to nicedream06 for figuring out how to get tethering on the stock ROM without the need for an ATT tethering plan. I have taken his work and turned it into a simple update.zip and Tasker profile. You need root in order to do enable tethering.
Enable Tethering
Download enable_tethering.zip
Drop it onto your sd card
Install from Clockwork Recovery
If you do not have clockwork recovery, but have root, unzip the package and read through the update-script.

Install Enable_Tethering.apk if you don't have Tasker. The app was generated from the below profile using "Tasker App Factory".

The title says Samsung Rugby Smart Thread, this is a Rugby Smart thread, posted inside Galaxy W due to the lack of subforum.
Yes, all of the information is already written before, for the Galaxy W, not Samsung Rugby smart. This thread is intended for Rugby Smart owner, NOT Galaxy W owner.
This thread, according to OP's post in the General thread, is intended for Rugby Smart users to recover/restore system images. Several things might differ from our phone. And they are in the process of porting Arco's CM9 to their device.
I didn't see any problem for rugby smart owner to post here, unless the mod says otherwise.
That's my opinion, sorry for the irrelevant post. Next time read the thread title.

The stock camera / video app records video in AAC @ 44khz.
I was able to use a 3rd party app from the market (lgCamera) to record video with AAC @ 48khz and 256kbit.

Cool, why the focus on the built-in camera / camcorder apps?
encoding license
I wanted to know if the ROM on America has the same restrictions as the ROM to Europe on a similar hardware. My equipment is i9001. It is therefore true that Google has lost its license for video and audio encoding and does not intend to return or renew.
See the file with MediaInfo, then you'll know what I mean.
Now that I can post here, I'll speak up . Kemonine and myself are hard at work developing for this phone, and should have some new stuff to show off within the next month .
Motorhead1991 just received an OTA update notice (2012/09/19) for the Rugby Smart. If you have run any of the tweaks / customizations on this page DO NOT run the upgrade. It is likely to fail and cause problems. I am in the process of prepping my Rugby for the upgrade and I will be putting together updated ODIN images as well as re-certifying any pre-existing tweaks work on the update. I will also try to put together an ODIN image that can be used to apply the upgrade and minimize the hassles of upgrading the device.
This process may take awhile. Please be patient, I am working as fast as I can.
Look out for a new mod I did, thanks to untermensch

The rugby smart is a ruggedized version of the Galaxy W released on the AT&T carrier in the United states.
As for the update: unknown at this time. It failed when it was being applied so I have to wait for them to allow me another attempt. Hopefully within the next couple of days I can have the update installed and figure out what is new and updated with it.
EDIT: That "something big" I mentioned earlier is here, but I'm not gonna show it off just yet...

[GUIDE] Rooting, ClockworkMod and Custom ROMs...an A to Z for beginners

Hi all, this thread has been written for the first time modifier who is adventurous enough to want to get the best from their phone, but who is unsure how to proceed.
It has been designed to be easy to understand and be as user friendly as possible.
Before I go any further, it's only fair to state that I am NOT the original author/developer for any of the processes, methods or software contained herein, I will try to give credit where it is due.
Please be aware that these instructions are Galaxy Wonder SPECIFIC, I DO NOT KNOW if they will work on any of the other variants of this phone.
It should be noted that any modifications performed on your phone carry an element of risk. The responsibility for this risk lies with YOU as it is YOU who are CHOOSING to follow these instructions. Neither I nor anybody else mentioned in this post will accept ANY responsibility if you damage your phone by following the instructions detailed below.
Also note that by following these instructions, you WILL be voiding your warranty.....
All the processes detailed below are possible WITHOUT the use of a PC. there is an alternative method for all the processes that uses a PC and a software package called ODIN. People will argue in favour of one method or the other.....My preference is to do everything "in phone" without ODIN.
Before you start any of the listed processes check to see that you have AT LEAST 50% remaining battery power. I'd personally recommend that you fully charge your phone before you start.
Finally, if it is your intention to install a custom ROM, it is necessary to follow EVERY procedure listed IN THE ORDER listed. Failure to do so WILL lead to damaging your phone.....you have been warned.....
Step 1) Rooting
When you Root your phone, you are giving yourself "administrator" rights to your device. you CANNOT move on to the other steps unless you've Rooted your phone.
Please see the thread below (created by @THE E ) that details a step by step guide (with resources) for rooting your phone.
Here is an alternate link for the update zip.......
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347838294
I have, since compiling these instructions, begun to read that the method below, WILL work for Android version 2.3.5, but MAY NOT work with Android version 2.3.6. To find out which Android version you are using, tap...
Settings>> about phone/device>>Android version.
If you find you have 2.3.6 try the method anyway...it won't damage your phone, it just won't work (if these reports are accurate). I am trying to get clarification from the developer on this, so please bear with me......
If it doesn't work, please leave a comment at the end of this thread and/or the below linked thread......
(Edit...this has been confirmed working on at least two 2.3.6 devices....thanks for the feedback @azim and @WonderTester )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394
The first method detailed in the link is the easiest. You will find the "update zip" file in "downloads". It needs to be moved (copied and pasted) from downloads so that it is NOT inside ANY folder but is still in your internal phone memory (root directory).
More confident users may want to make a backup of their 'stock' recovery before installing CWM. this backup will be useful if you've rooted your phone and installed CWM, but haven't installed a custom ROM..... and then discover a need to send the phone in for repair. This post by @elchi1234 will tell you how to do it......
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46433083
Step 2) installing ClockworkMod
ClockworkMod (CWM) is an advanced piece of software that replaces the pre installed recovery partition on your phone. It allows you to (amongst other things) make NANDROID backups (I will cover this later), factory wipe your phone and install CUSTOM ROMs. the method quoted below was provided to me by @IvanKurnia . You need to install TERMINAL EMULATOR and BUSYBOX (available in the Play Store) in order for this method to work.....
THESE STEPS NEED ROOT & BUSYBOX, BUT DON'T NEED A PC & ODIN..
FOR BEST RESULTS, UPDATE YOUR SUPERUSER.APK, SU BINARY, AND BUSYBOX
Open one of these links (courtesy of @arco68 )..
CWM 6.0.1.2
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347838291
CWM 6.0.4.4
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347838292
CWM 6.0.4.5
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347838293
-download and extract (unzip) the file from your chosen link.
-put the recovery.img file in /mnt/sdcard (internal phone storage. NOT external SD card)
-download "Terminal Emulator" (by Jack) from the Play Store
-open Terminal Emulator then type "su" and click enter
-allow root access..
-then type "dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13"
(the su and dd if=/.....text needs to be entered without the " " quote marks)
then click enter
(the 0 in mmcblk0p13 is the number NOT the letter).
-then some text will appear at the bottom of the Terminal Emulator panel.
-exit terminal emulator.. check the recovery by turning off the device then turn on with volume up button, home button, and power button pressed together.. until "Galaxy W" screen shows up, release the power button only.. then you will enter CWM
-navigate with up (up) and down (down) vol buttons and home keys (select) and power (back) and click "reboot system now" to reboot
The above method has a proven track record for successful implementation.
There is an alternative method of installing a recovery (created by @pepoluan) which bypasses the need to type code into terminal emulator. See this thread for details.......
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113946
There is an alternative custom recovery for the Wonder called TWRP.....it has one major advantage over CWM in that it is a 'touch' recovery....you touch the screen rather than relying on pressing buttons to use it. Please see this thread........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046035
for download and flashing instructions.
Step 3) preparing your phone for CUSTOM ROMs.
When you flash (install) a CUSTOM ROM on your phone, it is necessary to wipe everything (including original Android OS, Apps, SMS messages, call records, contacts etc) from your phone before hand. If you need these on your phone after ROM installation, you have to make copies of them first.
To copy the OS, you will need to create a NANDROID BACKUP....You might ask why this is necessary...simple...If you (for some reason) want/need to go back to the factory installed software, the NANDROID BACKUP is the easiest way to do so.
In order to create it, you need to reboot into recovery (switch the phone off, then switch back on while pressing the power, home and volume up keys, then releasing ONLY the power button when the SAMSUNG logo appears) Use the volume down button to scroll to "backup and restore" and use the home button to select, then on the next screen, select backup.
You will need 800mb or more of free memory to create this backup....any less and it won't complete.
When done, reboot your phone and use your file browser to search for a file called ClockworkMod. If you find it on your external SD card you don't need to do a thing, If you find it in internal storage, you need to "zip" it (minimal compression) and move it to your external SD card, otherwise it'll be deleted during the wipe process prior to installing your custom rom.
It is advisable to create a Nandroid backup not only before flashing your very first ROM, but also before you upgrade from an older version of your chosen ROM to a newer version (eg CM10 a2 to CM10 a4.1) that way you ALWAYS have a functioning copy of a working setup that you can go back to if something goes wrong.......
To backup your Apps, you'll need to download APPBAK from the play store.
To backup your SMSs, you'll need to download SMS BACKUP AND RESTORE from the play store.
To backup your call logs, you'll need to download CALL LOGS BACKUP AND RESTORE from the play store.
Open each app in turn and use it to create backup files for everything you want to restore. As before, if these files are stored on internal storage, move them to your external SD card to prevent deletion.
CAUTION.....DO NOT attempt to back up app user data (high scores, game progress etc) this data MUST NOT be re installed when you re install your apps.
To create a backup of your contacts, you need to go to your contacts on your phone, press the menu button, select import/export then select export to SD card to create a backup file...again, check for file location and move if necessary.
Make a note of WHERE the backup files are located before you move them. It will probably be a good idea to return them to their original location once you have installed your new ROM. That way when you use the apps to restore your data, the apps will be able to find their respective backup files.
You are now ready to install your CUSTOM ROM.
Step 4) CUSTOM ROM installation
Below is a list of CUSTOM ROMs that will install through CWM.
In this section, you'll see several references to GAPPS. This is an acronym for Google APPS which is a package that contains Google related software such as Play Store etc. Without it, you won't be able to access any of the Google services.

Some members have requested the ability to use their removable micro SD cards as an alternative to the phones built in storage. on CM-9 this facility is built in. on CM-10 and CM-10.1, it is not. Normally, to achieve this, the ROM would have to be modified after installation. Some members (myself included) are uncomfortable when it comes to modifying code. With that in mind a forum member called @temenalie has taken the latest builds of Arco68's CM-10 and CM-10.1 and modified the code so that the storage mount swap takes place DURING the installation, so that the end user doesn't have to do it 'post install'

Edit (20/10/15) the above two links are non functional, I am trying to re-source these ROM's and hope to be able to make them available again in the near future.
These ROMs should ONLY be used if there is an external SD card present in the phone that you want to use as phone storage.
ROMs courtesy of @arco68 , modifications courtesy of @temenalie.
Each of the above links opens the home page for that specific ROM. Most will have installation instructions on the first page. ALL instructions MUST be followed EXACTLY to avoid damaging your phone. some will have a separate "GAPPS" file which needs to be installed as well as the ROM.
Unless otherwise stated in the instructions for the individual ROMs, the method detailed below can be used to install all the ROMs from the links above. You MUST read all the instructions for your chosen ROM in case there are any differences in the installation methods.
-1) download the ROM and GAPPS (if Needed) to your phone/SD card
-2) switch off then reboot your phone into recovery
-3) create your NANDROID BACKUP (if you haven't already done so)
-4) scroll to and select "wipe cache partition"
-5) scroll to and select "advanced" then scroll to and select "wipe dalvik cache"
-6) this is the point of NO RETURN. press the back button then scroll to and select "wipe data/factory reset"
-7) scroll to and select "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from sdcard" or "choose zip from external sdcard" depending on where you downloaded the ROM and GAPPS files. you MUST install the ROM FIRST followed by GAPPS (if necessary/not included in the ROM)
-8) press the back button until you see "advanced", select it then select "fix Permissions" (if necessary) then scroll to and select "wipe battery stats"
-9) press the back button and select "reboot system now"
A more in depth "pristine" wipe method can be read about in the article below created by @pepoluan ....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044861
It can be used to replace the steps from step 4 above. Although it isn't necessary to complete this "pristine" wipe unless you were having problems with your "stock" ROM, or, after flashing your new custom ROM, you discover you have problems with that ROM and the only option is to do a complete wipe and re install.
Wait for your phone to boot up. You'll have to set up your phone again like you did when you purchased it and you'll have to sign into your Google account again in order to use the Play Store. Once the setup is complete, download APPBAK, SMS and CALL LOG BACKUP AND RESTORE, and restore your saved backups....
CAUTION......DO NOT restore user data generated by your apps. This will cause instability in your apps and make them force close.....
To restore your contacts, you need to open the newly installed (included in ROM) People app, press the menu button, select import/ export and then import from storage.
.you have now completed the process of modifying your phone.....congratulations and enjoy.....
On step 8 of the installation process, I mentioned 'wiping battery stats'. This is NOT something that is crucial to ROM installation, but it IS something that needs to be done after EVERY new installation. The reason being that your phone will calibrate your battery to your current ROM. When you install a new ROM, it'll have different battery usage patterns. If you don't get rid of the old battery data, you could experience some 'irregularities' in what the phone sees as the percentage of battery use compared to the actual battery use. Once this data has been wiped, you'll need to complete 3 or 4 full charge - full discharge cycles in order to calibrate the battery to the new ROM.....
One final point, none of the above would have been possible without the hard work of developers like @arco68 and the countless others who have given their time so that we can get the best from our phones.........
(All information correct and up to date at time of post creation)
if you liked this post, or it has helped you in any way, please hit thanks

Every custom variant of CM9 based roms are tailored for a specific thing, theme, or style.
paranoidandroid for example, attempts to bring tablet interface to handhelds.
MIUI, as far as I know, attempts to create a smooth user interface, which should give the user 60 fps on the screen.
There might also some apps/tweaks difference. Try reading all the related thread to find out about each one. No pain, no gain

That's one thing I didn't cover on purpose....the differences between the ROMs as that is down to (informed) personal choice. The purpose of the original post is to familiarize new users with the basic process of modifying their phones. Once they have that experience of flashing custom ROMs, they can then start experimenting to see which ROM best suits their needs....
Having said that the original version of CM9 is always the best place to start......

NOTE: As the ToolKit.exe and ModsSection.exe files are not Digitally Signed with a Microsoft Certificate they 'may' get picked up as potentially harmful by Antivirus Programs and deleted on first run. If this happens restore the file and exclude it from future scans to use it. This seems to happen mostly on AVG Free and Norton which is why I switched to BitDefender which is much better.
IMPORTANT: ONLY FLASH ROMS THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR YOUR PHONES MODEL NUMBER AS FLASHING AN INCORRECT ROM CAN SOFT BRICK YOUR DEVICE!
Credits: ChainsDD for Superuser, Chainfire for SuperSU, Chenglu for modded cwm.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FREE (PUBLIC) AND DONATE (PROFESSIONAL) VERSIONS?
THE FREE PUBLIC VERSION OF THE TOOLKIT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU COULD POSSIBLY NEED TO MANIPULATE YOUR PHONE. NOTHING IS RESTRICTED. ACTIVATING THE DONATE VERSION WILL ADD THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR UPDATES VIA THE TOOLKIT AND HAVE THEM PUSHED TO YOUR PC RIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS THEY ARE UPLOADED TO MY SERVER WITHOUT NEEDING TO DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE TOOLKIT EVERY TIME. THIS ALSO MEANS SMALLER UPDATES CAN BE SENT OUT MORE FREQUENTLY SUCH AS ADDING A SINGLE FUNCTION, FIXING A BUG OR ADDING COMPATIBILITY FOR A SINGLE VARIANT OR CARRIER SO DONATOR VERSIONS WILL BE UPDATED SOONER. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO, OR DO NOT WANT THE AUTO UPDATE FEATURE THEN ALL UPDATES WILL BE COMPILED AND RELEASED TO THE XDA COMMUNITY AS A FULL DOWNLOAD VERSION AS SOON AS TIME ALLOWS AND THERE ARE ENOUGH UPDATES TO WARRANT IT. DONATORS WILL ALSO HAVE THE QUICK PICKS AND EXTRAS SECTIONS UNLOCKED AND THE 'NAG' SCREEN ON EXIT WILL BE DISABLED. NEW DONATOR FEATURES WILL ALSO BE ADDED TO THE TOOLKIT IN THE FUTURE.
AUTO REPLY LINKS FOR PAYPAL AND GOOGLE CHECKOUT TO GET A CODE INSTANTLY CAN BE FOUND AT http://goo.gl/nyGqv
AUTO UPDATES ARE BY FAR THE EASIEST WAY TO KEEP THE TOOLKITS UP TO DATE AS I HAVE LOTS OF OTHER TOOLKITS TO LOOK AFTER. IF ANYONE HAS ANY VIEWS ON THIS PLEASE PM ME OR CONTACT ME AT [email protected]. PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR VIEWS IN THIS THREAD AS I WANT TO KEEP IT CLEAN FOR USER SUPPORT.

(Changelog at the Bottom of Post#1)
--------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE READ THE *FAQ* IN POST#2 BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. INSTALLING GALAXY NOTE2 DRIVERS
The first thing you need to do is to install the drivers. These are needed so that you can communicate with the phone via the PC and perform the tasks that the ToolKit offers.
NOTE: If you have Kies installed then it is advisable to uninstall it first to avoid conflicts.
a. Make sure your phone is booted into Android and the USB cable is unplugged.
b. Select Option 1 in the ToolKit to install the Samsung USB Driver pack. This should install all the neccessary drivers you need.
C. While the drivers are installing make sure that USB Debugging is enabled on your phone via the Settings, Developer options Screen.
d. After the drivers have been installed connect the USB cable and the PC should detect the phone and install the correct drivers. This will also happen when you enter Download Mode and Recovery Mode for the first time.
e. If you want to check the drivers then go to your Control Panel on your PC and open the Device Manager. With the USB cable connected you should see a device listed as 'Samsung Android Phone' or something similar and a driver attached to it.
NOTE: If you are having trouble with your device being detected or the drivers installing correctly then you could try rebooting your phone, using a different usb port and making sure no other drivers are installed on your pc.
--------------------------------------------------------------
2. USING MSKIPS' SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE2 TOOLKIT
a. Download the Samsung Galaxy Note2 ToolKit package and run to install the ToolKit to your PC. The installation will also create a Shortcut on your desktop for easy access. You have the option to include or exclude the drivers files at installation so if you already have your drivers set up and are just updating the ToolKit then you can untick the drivers if you wish.
b. Once the ToolKit is installed make sure your phone is booted and plugged in via USB cable and double click on the shortcut on your desktop to run it.
c. You will be asked if you want to check for an Update. If you type 'yes' this will download and check the latest version numbers against the versions in the ToolKit. If there is an update available then you will have the option to download and install it (professional feature).
d. You will now be presented with a Model Selection Screen to choose the Model/Build that you are currently on. Type the number that corresponds to your desired selection. For example type '12' for INTERNATIONAL GSM MODEL [GT-N7100] 4.1.1 [Build ALJ1-ALJ3]. If you cannot find the build your device is using then type 'h' to select the HELP option to get more info.
NOTE: If you have a new build that isnt covered by the Toolkit you can also type 'a' in the Model Selection screen to see instructions on how to pull your stock image and send it to [email protected] so support can be added.
e. The Toolkit will now locate and download the boot image pack for your chosen Model. This is a new feature so the Toolkit is not limited to how many Models can be added and it cuts down ALOT on the download size. After the zip file has finished downloading it will be extracted to the correct folders and the files checked to make sure everything is ok.
f. When you enter the Main Menu you will see 'Adb Mode' at the top. If you have installed your drivers correctly then you will see your devices serial number under the text with 'device' next to it. If you see this then your device is connected and you can carry on.
NOTE: If you haven't installed the drivers and don't see a serial number at the top then this is the FIRST thing you want to do so the Toolkit can operate properly.
g. Each option in the ToolKit has full information on what it is and how to use it.
--------------------------------------------------------------
3. FLASHING A ROM, RADIO OR KERNEL VIA CWM RECOVERY
a. Download your chosen Rom, Radio or Kernel from the Development Forum, then make sure your phone is booted up as normal and connect your usb cable so it goes into MTP Mode. Copy the .zip file (DO NOT UNZIP IT FIRST) to the 'Internal Storage' part on your phone. Do not copy it to a Sub Directory as it will be harder to find when flashing it.
b. Enter CWM Recovery (shut down the phone then hold down the 'HOME' + 'VOLUME UP' buttons and press the 'POWER' button for about 5 seconds).
c. Select 'Install zip from sdcard' and select 'choose zip from sdcard' if the file is on Internal Memory.
d. Scroll to your zip file and select. Then select 'Yes' in the list to start flashing.
e. When flashing is finished press the BACK Button to go back until you get to the Main Menu and then select 'reboot system now' to reboot your phone into Android.
--------------------------------------------------------------
4. FLASHING A ROM, RADIO OR KERNEL VIA DOWNLOAD MODE USING ODIN
Odin can be used to flash image files or parts of your phone. You can flash something as simple as a boot image or a complete system. Everything is packed in a tar or tar.md5 file on your PC and flashed via Odin which is a Windows OS program.
a. Make sure you have your tar file stored on your PC.
b. Reboot your phone to Download Mode [shut down your phone, then hold down the Home + Volume DOWN Buttons and press the Power Button for about 2 seconds until a Warning screen appears. Press Volume UP to continue to Download Mode.
c. Connect your phone via usb and the first box at the top under ID:COM should turn blue and have some text in it. If you are using Download Mode on your phone for the first time then you will notice drivers being installed to use it.
d. The site or page you downloaded the file from will usually give you instructions to set Odin but if not you want to load boot/recovery/system files to the PDA location and have 'Auto Reboot' and 'F.Reset Time' ticked and nothing else.
e. Click on 'Start' to start the flash. You can see what is happening in the text box in the lower left.
--------------------------------------------------------------
USEFUL INFORMATION
How to get into Recovery Mode

How to get into Download Mode (For Odin)
1. Unplug the USB cable.
2. Shut down the phone.

**FAQ**
Q. What is ADB Shell?
Adb shell is a linux command line tool (because android is based on linux) used to send commands to your android device. For S-ON devices, this is crucial for modifying files in the /system partition (where the rom sits) as you cannot modify anything in /system when the rom is running without S-OFF (e.g removing system apps).
From Google:
Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a versatile tool lets you manage the state of an emulator instance or Android-powered device. It is a client-server program that includes three components:
A client, which runs on your development machine. You can invoke a client from a shell by issuing an adb command. Other Android tools such as the ADT plugin and DDMS also create adb clients.
A server, which runs as a background process on your development machine. The server manages communication between the client and the adb daemon running on an emulator or device.
A daemon, which runs as a background process on each emulator or device instance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I flashed CWM but each time I reboot the Stock Recovery is back
There is an auto recovery restore system on Android that will reflash the Stock Recovery if you flash CWM on a Stock Rom.
Use Root Explorer to Mount the system folder as R/W (or use a free app from the Market). Delete the file recovery-from-boot.p from /system. Now when you flash CWM Recovery it will NOT be overwritten after a reboot. You can also use the Toolkit to rename the files if you wish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. What is the difference between Nandroid and Titanium backup?
A NANDROID will backup the whole system including boot, system, data and recovery partitions so you can restore a complete rom and all data and settings.
Essentially Titanium Backup is used to backup apps and associated user data. These could be restored AFTER a full wipe and a new Rom had been flashed on your phone.
The other option now which google added into the new adb command list is the adb backup which is in the ToolKit and can do the same job as Titanium Backup but will store the data on your PC rather than on the phone (where it takes up space and could be deleted).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. When would i perform a nandroid vs a titanium backup?
You would perform a nandroid backup to back up your entire system including boot image and data and system partitions so you can restore your entire system back to that particular point in the future.
You would use Titanium Backup mainly to back up your installed apps and settings so they could be reinstalled easily and quickly on any future roms. You can also choose individual apps to backup or restore on Titanium Backup whereas if you restore your boot partition via CWM Recovery you are stuck with the whole lot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. When I try to open the ToolKit I get a box pop up for a split second and then it goes away. My AntiVirus program says the file may be harmful.
The exe files I compiled are not digitally signed with a Microsoft certificate (as they cost money) so certain AntiVirus programs (mainly Norton and AVG Free) will pick it up as potentially harmful when it is not. They pick up ANY file that doesnt contain a purchased Microsoft certificate in the same way. Restore the deleted file and exclude it from further scans and it will be fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I have Windows 8 and cannot install the drivers
How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8:
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
When your computer restarts, select ‘Disable driver signature enforcement‘ from the list. You can now load your modified driver. Reboot again once the driver is installed and all will be well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I flashed the Stock Firmware Image. Odin flashes the file successfully and the phone reboots but it stays stuck on the samsung logo
If the firmware tar file does not include a userdata image (which most Samsung firmware do not) then your userdata partition will be left from your previous setup. If this is incompatible with the new firmware because of build or something else then your system will freeze on boot up.
This is easily fixable by holding the Volume UP, Home and Power buttons all at the same time for about 10 seconds until the device reboots to the Stock Recovery screen. Use the Volume Down button to scroll down to 'wipe data/factory reset' and press the Home button to select it. Go down to yes to confirm and your userdata partition will be wiped. Your device should now boot fine.

Flashing any custom firmware (boot, recovery) will add to the flash counter but im sure Chainfire will update his Triangle Away app to include the US variants.

Just to be certain, I can unroot with this? How? We don't have a stock recovery since there is no stock firmware avail. Can you please clarify? Thanx bud.
GREAT work and thank you for getting this into an easy toolkit form, as many people will be helped out by this!! I was already rooted, as some others were too, but you created a tool that needs a BIG :good:

Well I keep asking for someone with adb root access to do an adb shell mount and send me the mount points so I can verify the partitions but noone is getting back to me.
If you or anyone else can send me the mount points then please do so asap. The unroot zip file will remove the su and superuser files along with busybox and cwm manager (if present) but it needs the correct system partition value to mount the system and run the script.
Mark.
Is TWRP supported on the TMo Note II?

I will, I just need a stock recovery.img ! If you have it, please pass it to me (this goes for all US variants, btw).
I might get it to work as well if somebody can get me the stock kernel. Root first, then from a root shell:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/data/local/tmp/kernel.img bs=4096
then from normal cmd:
Code:
adb pull /data/local/tmp/kernel.img
And post the kernel.img - should be 8mb
I will also need: Settings -> About device -> Build number

Oh ok. I would, but I haven't rooted mine yet. Still deciding if I want to keep my grey one or exchange it for the white lolol. Hopefully, someone who is already rooted will be kind enough to do it for you.
Thanks for your effort and time.

I am getting issues with both TWRP and CWM. With TWRP, the data partition is unable to mount, making a full wipe a no go. With CWM, data partition can mount...but the external sd can't. Anyone else having these issues, or is it something on my end?

DOWNLOAD THE SKIPSOFT UNIFIED ANDROID TOOLKIT *HERE* (FROM SKIPSOFT.NET)
NOTE: As the exe files are not Digitally Signed with a Microsoft Certificate they 'may' get picked up as potentially harmful by Antivirus Programs and deleted on first run. If this happens restore the file and exclude it from future scans to use it. This seems to happen mostly on AVG Free and Norton which is why I switched to BitDefender which is much better.
Credits: ChainsDD for Superuser, Chainfire for SuperSU, koush and the clockworkmod team for cwm and the universal driver pack, 1wayjonny for the adb/fastboot driver pack, Adam Lange for all his support and help with the insecure kernels.
--------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUBLIC (FREE) AND PROFESSIONAL (DONATE) VERSIONS?
THE PUBLIC VERSION OF THE TOOLKIT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU COULD NEED TO MANIPULATE YOUR DEVICE. NOTHING IS RESTRICTED.
ACTIVATING THE PROFESSIONAL VERSION ADDS THE MOST USEFUL FUNCTION IN THE TOOLKIT, THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR 'AUTO UPDATES' DIRECTLY VIA THE TOOLKIT AND HAVE THEM PUSHED TO YOUR PC RIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS THEY ARE UPLOADED WITHOUT NEEDING TO DOWNLOAD THE WHOLE TOOLKIT EVERY TIME. YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE LATEST VERSION AS SOON AS IT IS MADE AVAILABLE. THIS MEANS SMALLER UPDATES CAN BE SENT OUT MORE FREQUENTLY, SUCH AS ADDING A SINGLE FUNCTION, FIXING A BUG OR ADDING COMPATIBILITY FOR A SINGLE CARRIER. THE SMALLER UPDATES WILL BE COMPILED AND RELEASED TO THE XDA COMMUNITY AS A FULL (PUBLIC) DOWNLOAD VERSION SO PROFESSIONAL VERSIONS ARE ALWAYS UPDATED SOONER.
THE PRO VERSION ALSO ADDS THE ABILITY TO CHECK FOR THE LATEST VERSION OF SUPERUSER AND RECOVERY FILES AND DOWNLOAD THEM DIRECTLY TO THE TOOLKIT.
THE 'QUICK PICKS' SECTION[/B] ALLOWS YOU TO PROGRAM UPTO 10 SLOTS WITH TASKS THAT YOU MAY PERFORM ON A REGULAR BASIS OR JUST WANT TO KEEP A SET OF TASKS IN 1 PLACE. THEN JUST SELECT THE SLOT AND IT WILL REMEMBER ALL YOUR SETTINGS FOR THAT TASK AND RUN IT.
PRO USERS CAN ALSO SELECT THE "ANY BUILD" OPTION IN THE BUILD SELECTION SCREEN TO ROOT ANY BUILD (USEFUL IF YOUR BUILD IS NOT LISTED).

PLEASE READ THE *HELP* PAGE AT http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=1269 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. I HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF TIME TO WRITE IT AND SOMETHING ON THERE SHOULD ANSWER 99% OF PROBLEMS.
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. INSTALLING ADB/FASTBOOT DRIVERS
The first thing you need to do is to install the adb/fastboot drivers. These are needed so that you can unlock your bootloader, root your device and perform other adb/fastboot functions.
THE DRIVERS CAN BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY VIA THE TOOLKIT. OPTION 1 IN THE MAIN MENU.
If drivers are not installed or there is an exclamation mark next to the device:
Plug the device in to a usb cable directly connected to your motherboard.
In the Device Manager a new item, usually called Android 1.0 should pop up in the list.
Right click on the device item then left click on Update Driver Software. Select 'browse my computer' and then 'Let me pick from a list'.
If no adb interface driver appears in the list then untick 'Show compatible hardware' and find the Android or Samsung adb interface driver.
If you cannot find either of these click Have Disk, browse to the Toolkit install folder, drivers folder, click on android_winusb.inf and click Open.
Click OK and select Google ADB Interface.
Make sure you have USB debugging enabled in settings, developer options. In Android 4.2.2 or later you have to enable the developer options screen by going to settings, About on your device and click on Build number at the bottom 7 times until it says You are now a developer. If you have already enabled usb debugging then unplug/replug the usb cable.
On Android 4.2.2 or later when you replug the usb cable after enabling usb debugging for the first time you will get a popup asking you to authenticate your pc. Tick 'Always allow' then click 'ok'.
--------------------------------------------------------------
2. USING SKIPSOFT UNIFIED ANDROID TOOLKIT
When starting the Toolkit you will first be asked which device you want to work with. Working folders will be created and the device files downloaded. You will then be taken to the Model/Build selection screen where you can do a number of things (other than select your model/build): Type '00' to enter your activation code and enable pro features, 'i' will take you to the Information and Help Section, 'a' will give you information on how to add support for a new build.
Supported builds are listed in the Model/Build selection screen and typing the associated number (i.e. 11) will download needed boot and recovery files (stock and custom recovery) then check for and download the latest superuser files available and custom recovery (pro versions only), verify all the files and start the Main Menu. You can now use all the functions and tools the Android Toolkit offers. Pro users can select the "any build" option to root any build (useful if your build is not listed).
--------------------------------------------------------------
USEFUL INFORMATION
How to get into Recovery Mode
1. Unplug the USB cable.
2. Shut down the phone.
3. Hold down the 'HOME' + 'VOLUME UP' buttons and press the 'POWER' button for about 5 seconds to enter Recovery Mode.
Note: If you cannot get into Recovery by using the buttons then you can reboot to it from the Toolkit 'reboot device' section.
How to get into Download Mode (For Odin)
1. Unplug the USB cable.
2. Shut down the phone.
3. Hold down the 'HOME' + 'VOLUME DOWN' buttons and press the 'POWER' button for about 2 seconds until a WARNING! Screen appears. Press the 'VOLUME UP' button to enter Download Mode.

**FAQ**
Q. Help me I can't find my build in the Model Selection Screen
The Toolkit includes a selection of Insecure Boot Images to cover all the different builds available. As there are very many different builds it is impossible to include an image for every single build but some builds share the same Boot Image. If you have a build that isnt listed on the Model Selection Screen you can therefore use a similar build. The best way to go is up to the next available build as it should offer more compatibility with the build you are using but if that isn't available then try the next build below your one as it should still be almost identical as long as it is the same version (ie. 4.1.2).
The Model Selection Screen is there so that if a task in the ToolKit requires an insecure kernel [to perform adb root commands] and your phone doesnt already include one, a compatible boot image [with an insecure kernel included] can be flashed to provide adb root access.
If you have a Custom Rom flashed to your phone then it will most probably have an insecure kernel included so it doesn't really matter if your build is not listed on the Model Selection Screen and when asked [by certain functions] if you have an insecure kernel on your phone you can answer 'yes'. However if the function fails then your kernel may not be insecure in which case you can flash one from the ToolKit. If you need to do this make sure the right build [or closest available build] is set so you flash the right image for your phone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. What is ADB Shell?
Adb shell is a linux command line tool (because android is based on linux) used to send commands to your android device. For S-ON devices, this is crucial for modifying files in the /system partition (where the rom sits) as you cannot modify anything in /system when the rom is running without S-OFF like removing system apps.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Why do I need to back up my IMEI/EFS and how do I do it?
There well protected section of your device that is virtually immune to any kind of flashing and manipulation (unless of course you know how to access it). This part of the device contains information such as IMEI (or MEID and ESN in the case of CDMA devices), programming parameters for the device such as your account information (phone number, etc), data provisioning parameters, and a whole bunch of other things that, when not handled properly, can render a device completely useless. All of these are contained in the infamous \EFS folder. If anything messes with your EFS folder, unlike flashing a device (which could potentially lead to bricks as well) it could render your device completely useless as it will no longer be recognized by your carrier. If you are not planning on flashing anything to your device and want to stay on pure Stock then you may never have any problems but it is still advisable to backup this information just in case (better to be safe than sorry).
This feature will be added to the Toolkit after testing has been completed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Does flashing a custom image increase my flash counter?
Any image that is flashed via Odin that has been modified will increase the flash counter that can be viewed in the Download Mode on your device (if booted by holding the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons). You can reset the flash counter using an app by Chainfire called Triangles Away and can find instructions on how to use that in the Downloads section in the Toolkit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Will flashing Stock ROM via odin using the toolkit replace everything that was flashed before? recovery? etc?
Yes a Stock Image flashed via Odin will replace all your key partitions (boot, recovery, system) with the stock firmware. If you want to reset the phone back to an 'out of the box' state then you want to enter recovery and do a wipe first which will reformat your userdata partition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I flashed Custom Recovery but each time I reboot the Stock Recovery is back
There is an auto recovery restore system on certain Stock Android Builds that will reflash the Stock Recovery if you flash CWM on a Stock Rom.
Use Root Explorer to Mount the system folder as R/W (or use a free app from Google Play such as ES File Explorer). Rename the files /system/recovery-from-boot.p and /system/etc/install-recovery.sh (requires root). Now when you flash Custom Recovery it will NOT be overwritten after a reboot. You can also do this via the Toolkit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. My AntiVirus program says the Toolkit files may be harmful
The exe compiled files are not digitally signed with a Microsoft certificate (as they cost money) so certain AntiVirus programs (mainly Norton and AVG Free) may pick it up as potentially harmful when it is not. They will pick up ANY file that doesn't contain a purchased Microsoft certificate in the same way. Just Restore the deleted file and exclude it from further scans and it will be fine. Or switch to a better AntiVirus program such as BitDefender.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I flashed the Toolkit Boot Image, now my wifi + bluetooth won't work
The boot images are made from Stock with only needed changes made to the insecure boot images [modified adbd, default.prop and rc.local edited] and will work on all stock roms. If you flash them to a custom rom and the rom has been altered or uses a custom boot image then it will boot but certain modules may not load such as wifi or bluetooth. In this case you can use the boot image to root or perform adb root functions but will need to flash back the boot image for the custom rom to get other functions working again. This is not a fault of the Toolkit but a difference to stock in the custom rom.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I am having trouble getting adb working with the drivers installed
Try switching your connection type from media (MTP) mode to camera mode (P2P). To do this open the notification area, click where it says connected as and change from MTP to PTP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I want to send my device back for warranty purposes
1. Follow the instructions to reset your flash counter with TriangleAway.
2. Download and flash a Stock Firmware image from the download section.
3. Boot into Stock Recovery and perform a wipe/factory reset
.
Your internal storage will be formatted and data and cache wiped. Your device should now be back to an out-of-the-box FULLY STOCK state with the flash counter [shown if you boot to download mode manually] reset and ready to send back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. When connecting the phone I get 'USB Device not Recognized' and no serial number shows in the ToolKit
I actually had this problem recently and what fixed it for me was to make sure that the drivers have been installed, then shut my phone down plug the usb cable in and restart it. The phone booted up and the device was recognized and drivers installed correctly. May not work for everyone but worth trying.

You have too many devices lol. If you (or the above user) can test and give me feedback tonight then please let me know as soon as possible so I can release the Toolkit soon.
Also can someone with a GT-N8010 or N8013 device please install voodoo report (free from google play store) and email the results to [email protected] so I can make sure the partition points are set right. I have the points for the N8000 so do not need it for that.

When is the soonest you can test? I was expecting feedback from testers by now but nothing so I may just have to take it out of beta testing, post the installer and wait for public feedback.
