Welcome to the forums!
Believe it or not, that's a feature of HTC Sense.
Download a cab from here to disable it. I'm thinking (if you are using a stock ROM), you'll need the Sense 2.1 WVGA cab.

Not sure which ROM you are using, but I am using Energy ROM; the one listed in my signature.
I can disable the clock excessive animation as follows :
Start -> Tools -> CHT Editor -> Miscellaneous settings -> and then enable "Disable double flip" and "Disable minute flip" under "Flip Clock" option.
Thanks
thanks so much!
it works and its great.

I would like to make a one-touch shortcut to rotate the screen from portrait to landscape (and back), or at the very least a way that is easier than going through the screen settings menu on my XDA Orbit. Any suggestion please? It's so that I can us ethe wider screen whilst running tomtom6.
Thx
Pete
i've got mine on the button to the left, i believe it is for voice contact but I never use it.
start - settings - Personal - buttons - button 6 <rotate screen>

What choices of other ROM are there for my Orbit?
toms B&B v4 at the mo till v4.1 is realeased but im sticking with v4 does me
my avitar is my screen on my orbit
nice huh?
Aye I might try that. I have to down-grade my rom to WM5 first yes? From reading-up I take it I can do that without having to unlock the cid, since I have the o2 WM5 rom? Just a case of flashing it down?
i flashed to wm6 then tried to go to toms rom didnt work
downgraded to wm5 o2 rom then using uspl did the B&B rom
worked a treat
This cab puts a screen rotation icon on lower part of screen. You tap on it, and screen rotates. I ´ve tested it only under WM5

Doesn't seem to work on an O2 Orbit with WM6. Installs OK, but no icon appears.
Sorry! My mistake. Requires a reset after installation. Many thanks.

I have Slide to unlock 2 on my HD, some times when I press the power button to turn on S2U2 comes up but only on half of the screen so I cannot use the slide. The only thing I can do is take out the stylus or take of the back and press reset. I think it has something to do with Gyrater 2 ? Any ideas please.....
try to add s2u2 to exceptions list of gyrator
I have an other problem. After locking it doesn´t show my weather. It shows only one time left down my weather, since than no viewing anymore.
Can somebody telling me, what I do wrong (maybe in the configuration)
Have you chosen Manila 3d as your weather source in the s2u2 settings?
Is your manila weather up to date?
I believe you can't run TF3D and have the S2U2 display the weather. Try turning of TF3D and watch the weather pop right up in S2U2 (wish they'd fix that)

God damned, you are right. So soon if I of TF3D it pops up on the screen. man, that can not be the way. These guys who are responsible for this program have to think about it.
Anyway, just want to say it and thanks for helping.

Hey guys,
I'd like to have date & time on EVERY screen (not just home).
(I've just installed Josh's Manilla 2D ROM, so I'm using WM6.1)
I know how to add it using registry edits (or tweaker apps), but this has 2 problems:
1) I want date format to be "d/M", but if I set that in regional settings, TouchFlo 2D follows that format too. (Which I don't want)
2) It's only displayed when I'm on the Today page.
The date/time function in pBar 1.5 (which I'm also using) DOES display on all screens (not just Today), but...
this causes another problem; pBar's date&time are ON TOP OF my speaker icon. Is there a way to insert some space to fix this?
I promise I used the site search. Infact, I've just spent the last 40 minutes looking for the solution myself.
im using crc's rom v12.9 at the moment and am able to get the time on all of the programs that have a bar at the top. whether this can be done on the rom you are using i dont know. i made it display in the title bar of programs on the clock menu in the settings where you can tick to say show it in all title bars.
i dont whether this is what your looking for.
hope you find a way to do it
you can get it by editing the registry

Restore clock on top bar

"ShowTitleBarClock"=1
Show Time,Date, both or Battery on top bar at Today screen

Thanks for your reply, but this doesn't force it to display on every screen.

I just tried it, and with both settings it does show on every screen. But, it cuts off the 9 in the year, so today is 5/18/0.
Hey Boog, thanks for trying it, mate.
Yes, the date is cutoff for me too, but it also doesn't show on every screen.
Settings -> clocks and alarms -> more -> check the box to show it in every screens
personally i have mine set up to show the battery on the today screen and the clock on every other screen using the below settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell]
"TBOpt"=dword:00000001 (when the clock is shown it shows only time)
"ShowTitleBarClock"=dword:00000000 (Battery is shown on today screen)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TaskBar]
"ConsistentClockOrBattery"=dword:00000000 (option for today screen is not consistent across all programs)
"LimitedClock"=dword:00000000 (shows clock on all programs)

This is manilla 2.1 and it's normal. Whan you have tasks in calendar they will be displayed there.
Flash manila 2.5 (Leo) and you will get 9 shortcut places for programs

oh, thanks
or you can use the Manila Start menu cab (available on the first page of the ...Nuts! thread), which you can access by pressing the Windows icon at the top left of the screen.
That allows 24 icons (I think), & it's scrollable.
How do i do this?
Im on vacation in vancouver, 4 hours difference from my home location. I cant find any way short of changing the default home time through settings. On winmo sence ui, i was able to click the clock icon and simply choose a new location, i cant do that on the desire.
Thanks
Anyone?
Have you tried changing the 'Set Time Zone' setting in Menu > Settings > Date & time? Uncheck Automatic and manually set the time zone.
Also check out the 'TimeZone' app from the Marketplace.

Thanks Mas, i was trying to avoid doing it those ways because i thought there may have been a very simple way to switch between 2 time zones (home and visiting). It can be done in wimo sense ui but ive just found out that this is a feature of wimo and sense is just overlayed. I'll just change the time zone through settings. Thanks
Yah, WM has this feature and seems somewhat overlooked with Sense UI on Android. Maybe there is some type of app that will allow you to achieve the same thing with a different clock widget?
I will report back here if i can find something similar.
