Lifetime ban for this spamming fool.

Disapointment
Even my Behold 2 has that type of notification bar.
Galaxy S is the successor to my Behold 2 a.k.a. Galaxy i7500 but..... WHERE THE HELL IS THE CAMERA FLASH!!! Even the older Galaxy has flash..... sigh this Samsung company has lost it's mind...

how about that status bar? any idea where to get it?

I'd rather have the wifi and bluetooth toggles. You can view your most recent apps by just holding the home button.....why would you want them clogging up your status bar as well?

that method has never really worked perfectly, itll show the list, and then just go to the home screen, as if i held home, then pressed home again.

You're doing it wrong then lol. The most recent apps list works perfectly on any android phone ive ever used.
Or just use PowerStrip.

You guys know that it can't be done right? At least, not realistically.
The files for the notification bar are held in the framework-res.apk. If you want to use the framework-res.apk from the MTS or the vivrant, your going to need the rest of the framework and most of the apps that are dependent on it. Once you port over enough things for it to work, you essentially have a MTS or vivrant rom... You can't just make the new notification bar the way you make an update.zip or a metamorph to change the colors.
The reason why people leave sense roms are because they are slow. They are bloated and designed for phones more powerfull then our G1's and MT3G's. Vivrant roms can't be ported over because of differences in graphics Eg. HDPI vs MDPI. If you really want the recent apps to show on top then you will need a MTS rom.

thats what i was looking for... a definitive answer..
Thank you.

[Q] Metal back cover for our Desires?

Now I'm not one to be jealous of iPhone users, but having seen this it makes me crave after a stainless steel back for my Desire. I have to admit the iPhone 4 is a good looking phone and this steel cover makes it look amazing but, you'd never catch me ever wanting anything on aesthetics alone (or anything that includes crappy iOS ). I've been looking around the net for a while now to no avail. Does anyone know of anywhere that might sell something similar to this?

Damn i agree that is SeXy!! ..
I would love that to
It would look good, though metal would degrade the signal reaching the antenna.

That's probably true. With the antenna being right at the bottom of the phone, the grey rubber bit (where all the physical buttons are) will still allow some signal to reach the antenna. Does anyone know where the WiFi antenna is? I heard it's sorta midway down. Putting my hand against the middle does seem to attenuate the WiFi signal so a metal back probably isn't the best idea. That iPhone sure looks stunning though!

I'm sure it's the top left of the phone (viewing from the back). The last time a saw one in an exploded view it was right next to the bluetooth label.

Thanks that's very useful to know. Will try and avoid placing my hand there when in landscape mode. When the signal's already been through a couple walls, the last thing it wants to do is to nudge its way through my grubby hands.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have just seen the metal back cover you have on sale for the iPhone 4 (http://cnn.cn/shop/apple-iphone-beveled-back-cover-blacksilver-metal-insert-p-10351.html) and I was wondering if you have anything similar in production for the HTC Desire? I personally feel that a steel back cover for the HTC Desire would be a best seller for you as millions of people worldwide have bought the HTC Desire and it has also been voted as T3's phone of the year. I hope to hear from you soon,
Thanks, David Jones.

On my S2 is working without chainfire or something.
I'm not sure if I should buy it... I'd like to read some review first...
now works like a charm on my phone with chainfire3D
What?Why need chainfire? It's for GT-I9100?
Is working without chainfire. I'm playing on my S2.
on my phone not working without chainfire :/
CHECK your device, some work and some not work. That must be cause by different GPU unit. Are you using GT-I9100G or GT-i9100?
Great game, and impressive graphics. I'd recommend it. Top Notch!

Working fine on my UK i9100. Great game, awesome graphics. My phone doesn't even get that hot whilst playing. Asphalt 6 used to make the phone really hot.
Good work EA.

Is the game smooth? Do you have any drop frames?
It's probably a great game.
However, I'll not buy another EA Mobile game again.
Consider Need for Speed Shift fiasco last year. EA Games held a big 0.99$ sale for the likes of Need For Speed Shift, Tetris and The Sims... Soon after, they rejigged the acceptable devices via an update, meaning that many customers couldn't re-download. Soon afterwards, they relaunched the game ... Rather than not rant, suggest prospective purchasers use google (including Market User Ratings) for these games and understand that in the past customers who purchased have been left unable to play. Buyer beware, and all that....
According to EA $6.99 is 7.70CHF...not a huge deal in itself but percentage-wise it's pretty high compared to what it should be.
v1.0.47 and 1.0.48 works on the S2 without the need for chainfire 3D.. i find this game more "arcadey" than shift though..
and gameloft should learn a thing or two from ea on how to make beautiful game without the bloating filesizes..

No place for a wriststrap

Got my GN from Expansys a few days ago and really like the phone so far. As soon as I turned it on it got the update so all that is good. The only thing operationally that is a problem for me so far is the brightness, but there are already patches available for that issue. But what may be the dealbreaker for me is no ability to attach a wriststrap. I always use a wriststrap on my phones and since my current Samsung Galaxy S (Vibrant) supports that (and the S2) I expected that the GN would, as well. Probably not a big deal for most but it is for me as they have always helped me from dropping phones in the past and I certainly don't want that to happen with the GN. Really dissapointed at this point that I can't use a wriststrap and will have to give a lot of thought about keeping it or not.
You mean a lanyard loop? You could probably find a hardcase that has one integrated I guess...
Don't most phones not have a lanyard loop nowadays (outside of Asia)?
Wow. Upper class problems I guess.

Guys, you can be sarcastic all you want, but I agree with ts big time - having little netsuke-toy on my ol' good SE W902 save it from falling to the asphalt a billion times. I could juggle it with my fingers using strap as handy safety-grip-extension-device and I still consider it a much beter solution than aluminum casing/rubber bumper/gorilla glass (well, certanly it's better to combine a few ). I definetely miss such a strap on my RAZR and, obviously, will miss it on N4.
P.S.: After W902 I've had HTC Legend - it had a strap, gorilla glass, aluminum case, and a shape preventing glass contact with ground on fall. Talk about safety . A shame it was such a weak device capability-wise.

I wouldnt believe it anymore than using wifi to look through walls. Sure it works but it also sucks and is impractical.
Article sounds a little funny. But I also don't understand how such high frequencies would be considered usable for material penetration. Apparently what they are discussing is considered for such uses though - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terahertz_radiation Though what kind of energy output are we looking at, cell phones.... meh talking about looking through a wall not transmitting some data.
x-ray vision for cellphones
Vista Verda Optics Inc. proudly presents next generation of x-ray spex lenses.
With Vista Verda, it is simple to achieve superior visual outcomes with brilliant images. Our amazing Photo-Reactive Technology product shows whatever you want to see that you are
looking for. You can use Vista Verda easily with all kind of smart phones. You won’t believe what
you will be able to see through VISTA VERDA.
Enjoy and have fun.
How echnology works:
To capture a Fluoresced See-Through image, the object is placed over the light source to limit the incident light and prevent any infrared rays emitted by the source from reaching the subject.
Some of the visible rays, which remain striking the subject are changed to longer, all reflected light that we can see with the naked eye represents a fractional portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, which is infinite. We refer to this section as "visible light". All around us, there are light rays that cannot be detected by the human retina, such as ultraviolet and infrared radiation.
Vista Verda filter allows such rays to be passed into the camera of the mobile device and human eye via infrared rays diffraction.
You can also see the main structure of objects with the infrared filter at the
bottom of the lens with your naked eye.

Let's be honest, who wouldn't want to use their phone in the shower sometimes. My friends have an awkward sixth sense in knowing the most inopportune times to text me (just as I drift to sleep before work and my phones charging across the room, in the shower, etc). That and sometimes I get on a real reddit streak and I KNOW I have **** to do but I put it off and procrastinate until I'm late.
And yeah, it's my phone and I can wash it if I want to.

It's a legitimate want. I personally could benefit as I fix and install carwashes. I'm sure others out there would utilize this. I also surf and snowboard yearly not to mention moutain bike and skateboard. With the water hazards that exist out in the world why wouldn't you want this. Seems like phones should be equipped with resistant shells. Much more viable feature HTC could have pioneered this instead of 3D technology that cost tons of money only to fail and end up a gimmick.

Thanks. While I may be slightly sarcastic about the shower I am in situations where a water resistent case or phone would be handy. It just makes me wonder if they specifically design phones with flaws that allow for more frequent insurance claims or replacements

HTC One has 3d?
No the evo 3d did.. he was making the point that instead of funding fads (came out with the boom of 3D in media eith movies etc) they should fund practical projects like water resistant builds.
My theory is anything that makes your phone too sturdy wouldn't get approval as income from insurance and replacements would significantly drop.
