Hi all,
switched from Magic to Desire (with launcherpro) and loving the phone!
However I have a strange problem which limits my creativity
I'm not able to find a couple of contacts in applications such as bettercut and quickdial... funny thing is that I added these contacts in my favourites.
I've removed them from favourites thinking this had something to do with it but no luck... even after recreating the contact I still don't see it in bettercut or quickdial
Anybody any thoughts? I know I can create a direct-call shortcut with android itself but then it takes the normal contact-picture and I want to use another one
cheers

Hi guys, this is probably a retarded question but.. how can i go about putting my own icons on the side of my email accounts in the messaging program on my phone? I Know tmobile has the email plugin that gives your email an icon like Yahoo! and Aim but im not using the tmobile rom, im using the GREAT Htc rom version before the Rogers. I just want to use better icons rather than the stock ugly mail looking one that you get when you start a new make a new email account. Is there a folder with icons or a registry i can change to use my own custom icon? Thanks guys...
?????
Not one person knows an answer to this? Someone has to at least know, im sure its quite simple to figure out. I just need a little help. lolz
Custom Email Icon
I too am wondering how do to this.
I am guessing it'll have to be some change in the reg edit.
I believe I've checked on this in here and seem to find nothing.
Bueller, Bueller...
Here's the most related thread I could find. Fourth post down by limpmike. I might try exploring around this reg to see what I can modify...
what a retarded question. jk
i have no clue. let me poke around and see if i can find where thats located.
there's a way to do it, but for only one icon.... meaning you cannot have custom icons for every email account. there's only one master email icon for all email accounts you have. i messed with it a few months back and there doesn't seem to be a way to use custom icons for each and every email account you have. and btw... the changes ARE in the registry.
Hi!
I am looking for an easy way to customize the today screen to my wishes (add app/folder links, change number of calendar entries displayed maybe add rss feeds and so on), the same with the start menu (add folders instead of programs, ignore the limit of entries that can be added etc.), and finally I would like to arrange the PROGRAMM, SETTINGS, and GAMES folders as I like it.
I know that there are several ROMs out there and I tried some, but there was nothing I found suitable for my needs and in most cases I encountered problems that have not taken care of. So I don't want a ROM, I don't want SPB or sthg. like that (it slows down the system considerable), I just want a tool that allows me to do the modification I described above.
Any suggestions or ideas besides "do it yourself"?
thanx and regards loc
Click on the "Panels" Button .... :-D
Actually I've found the Sony Ericsson Panel quite useful...
It has RSS feeds, various calendar and clock settings, shows you the weather information, shows your appointments and tasks, has some really good shortcuts for airplane mode, wifi, bluetooth and ring settings. Besides you can add shorcuts to the programs, contacts and files that you want.
For the today screen there are a lot of plug-ins, but honestly I haven't tried any since I alwas use the SE Panel. I'm sorry for not being of any help there.
You want to organize your progams list, right?
I think I can help you there.
Just go to the File explorer and search the "Windows" folder, in there go to "Start Menu" and then "Programs", there you'll have all the shortcuts that are in your program list, and you can arrange em as you wish (move them, add new folders, etc).
Hey all, a while ago I was browsing threads for my old Moto Milestone, and saw a screenshot where the person had large contact icons on his homescreen (about equiv to 1x1 widget per contact). I thought I had read they were using either FolderOptions or BetterCut, but when I try to setup either, the contact photos always come out tiny. Am I messing up the setup of either of these, or could someone who has done this either either program, give me a hand.. Or even could someone point me to a way to do this? I always found the HTC People/LauncherPro Plus one kinda lacking, and REALLY lacks customization.
All I'm really looking for is a Contact photo on my homescreen that when I click it would either popup the little contact slide bar(phone/txt/email/etc) or just take me straight into HTC People contacts. Ability to turn on/off contacts name text would be a bonus!
Any help/app suggestions?
Wow.. 46 views and no one has a suggestion or even a comment?
How about this.. anyone know if it's possible, or what I'd have to hack, to increase the thumbnail size from the original Shortcuts -> Contacts or Shortcuts -> People to increase the size and remove the frame? (either full 1x1 widget size, or even 2x2 would work beautifully)
I believe you can use an app called "desktop visualiser"
Haven't used it for that purpose myself but i don't see why it shouldn't work.
Hope it helps.

OMFG That was EXACTLY what I was trying to find something to do! You are a life-saver.. I had given up finding something to do it, and just started learning to write an app to do it myself LOL Oh well, maybe I'll keep writing and see what I end up with.. but this is seriously the perfect tool for me.. It's gonna take over like 65% of my homescreen space now lol
As above, I'm looking for a contacts widget that will work with 2.3.3. Does anyone know of any? I've tried a half dozen or so from the market but they either don't work, or don't work the way I want them to.
I'm just looking for a non-scrolling sense type one. I don't want to install any launchers or anything like that, I'm happy with the phone as it is in that respect, so I would rather have a static one.
The closest one to the mark was Contact Widget, it looked the part but was very buggy. It was meant to show 20 contacts at any one time but after I had selected the 20, it then only displayed 4 and pretty much froze. Not sure if that's a 2.3.3 issue or not.
Any recommendations?
If you want one that's non-scrolling, I would suggest not installing anything. Just add shortcuts to your contacts on the home screen. You can also put them into a folder if you so choose.

Thanks for that, 2 years I've been running android and didn't know that lol.
