Somehow I cracked the glass/plastic lens cover on my camera.
Anyone know if there's a way to fix this, or replace it? It's not the actual lens is it?
I have minor screen lift and light leakage that I could probably replace it on warranty if I need to. I'm on day 29, so I've got to decide today what I'm going to do.
Thanks for any help/advice.
its not the lens. if its broke, get a new one, you have a legitimate reason not to mention that screen lift is gonna get worse.

I dropped the phone and broke the back camera glass cover. I ordered the part online.. but after a few days, a black spot appeared on my lens (if you open the camera app). Initially, I thought it was a dust or something but after the replacement glass came in, I tried to clean it but it won't come off.. so, now I'm thinking it's a scratch. So... it looks like I need to replace the camera. Has anyone else done it? I want to... but, I don't to bother if a replacement won't be the original quality.

It's not that I don't know how... I've watched tutorials. Quality is the issue.

I broke the glass that covers the back phone. After that, the comers could no longer focus.
I thought replacing the glass cover would fix the problem. I got a new cover but the camera still won't focus. The view is blurry.
Any idea what might be wrong or how to fix it?

I think the camera module itself may have been accidentally adjusted when you were replacing the glass. The internal lens of the camera module should be "rotatable" to a certain extent then glued to position from the factory. The auto-focus would then do the fine-tuning.

I dropped my S3 in the toilet and it's fried, so I never got a chance to try and fix this. Good luck to those who stumble on this!
So the camera lens for my G3 broke. I didn't drop it or anything, it just broke. I bought a replacement part just for the lens cover. When I was trying to take apart the lens, I noticed that it has a seal on the top that keeps the lens cover connected. Can i take off the cover or will there be problems because of the seal? I've attached a link so you guys know which part I'm talking about.

Are you trying to take the glass out of that piece you linked to, and attach it to the one on your phone? It seems it would be easier to replace the entire piece rather than just the glass.
If not, I suspect the seal is designed to hold the glass in place and prevent dust from getting inside the assembly. As long as you make sure the new glass piece is sealed somehow (glue?), it will probably be OK. But I've never done this, so to some extent I'm guessing.
Update?

Hi - what was the outcome for this? The same thing has happened to my phone and I see that part you linked. Could you explain whether you installed the part and whether your problem was because you were trying to separate just the glass from the part or whether you had trouble with just removing and then installing that new part. Some pics to help us out?
Thanks.
Somehow, I don't know how, the glass over the camera got broken. Did not drop the phone or hit it against something. Was in a case in my holster on my pants. Anyone ever done this and can it be repaired? I know broken screens can be, but never seen anyone break the glass over the camera. Camera still works, but the cracks make any bright light source ruin the pic. Shooting outdoors is almost useless. :crying:

Seeing this is a hardware issue, the best thing to do would be to bring it to Samsung Service Center, and hope it is covered under warranty.
