Hey there. I've a problem with my Facebook synced contacts. The birthdays are all wrong by one day. If I look at one of these contacts then there is the birthday if written in and the facebook birthday which is wrong. Any idea how to solve this?
greetz Floh
upz for you as its happening to me as well ...
used to happen to windows mobile 6 when birthday was all day event and phone registrered birthday to next or previous day (i think it was previous). after several different sync i had 2 or 3 birthdays for each contact. really annoing.
i find that this is also happening in the new OTA 2.2 sense roms.
does anyone has a fix for this?
me too!! its just weird. And only some of the contacts (probably about 20%) are having such problems. The rest are fine.
help?
bringing this issue back for discussion.
I have similar problems with the facebook birthday sync it is one day earlier.
However, when i access the facebook page in the browser, the birthday is correct!
Makes me wonder if it could be due to time zone difference, as in the syncing is not adjusted for time zone differences.
for e.g. i'm in Singapore GMT +8:00. But in facebook, maybe its default is US time which is GMT -4 to -7, yet I cannot find anyway for me to choose my region and timezone in the facebook website, not in account settings or profile or etc...
Are people facing this problem living outside USA?
Mine was wrong by one month!
Anyone hv any idea ? I also facing the same problem. Birthday wrong by one day in calendar ....
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Same problem here. Not all, but many birthdays are off by one day (displayed 1 day earlier).
Yup.. can be embarrassing , my friend at work had " two " birthdays ... was not sure so I broyght her a card on the wrong day ...a month early ...
Same thing here.
Mine too, I ended up putting everyone's birthday's that I cared about in manually.
Would be interested in a proper solution.
You can easily export your birthdays from Facebook to your PC and sync it with your Google Calendar. Later sync the whole thing with your HTC, works like a charm to me.
It has something to do with the time zone. I switched it from Central Time to GMT and the birthdays went from behind one day off to the correct day. Not sure how to fix it.

Hi, is there a way to see contacts birthdays in calendar tab ? Thx.
I get them standard on my TP2
Just fill in the birthday field in Outlook.

Of course i have the birthday fild filled. For me, only TF3D - people-all people-updates and events shows me the contacts birthday. Nothing in calendar tab.
Strange??
I've got all birthdays automatically added as All Day appointment.
Out of the box, I've done nothing to force this.
Check this out. It'll do exactly what you want.
It was actually featured on Pocketnow
Maybe this will help

thank you labbbby and ohyeahar. you both are pointing to the same app. If ronh is wright maybe is only an reg hack or an option in wm calendar / tf3d ?
I have had the same problem...
A hard-reset fixed it.
I have had a LOT of issues with the calendar, including the issue you describe. I think the problems came from a messed up Nokia calendar sync with my previous phone (Nokia N95). I decided to completely ditch my old calendar and make a new database, and reset my TP2.
All worked properly and everything is working fully functional now.
I'm happy about that, because I was going totally nuts. I thought I bought a piece of **** phone with a **** OS on it. But it was just bad Outlook syncing support from Nokia's side...
Maybe you habe been syncing with a database from a phone which has wrong Outlook syncing. Just like me.
Anyway, it SHOULD work out of the box, like the previous posters have said, so there IS an issue somewhere...
I too had an n95 8gb which I sync'd to outlook to then sync with my tp2.
I first checked my calendar when I saw this thread, and it didn't show the dates. I then checked that the dates were added to the contact's details. I then went back to calendar, and saw all the dates were available...
One thing I did notice, is that some contacts have two appointments in the calendar. Dunno whether this is because I had the dates in originally, and then because I sync'd my contacts with facebook contacts?! Or whether I added all dates as yearly reminders?! Either way, seems to work ok for me out of the box...
I have my birthdays in the calendar by default as well.
In the standard agenda there is also an indication of somebody's age on the next birthday. This is unfortunately not in the TF3D agenda.
But I wouldn't start installing separate programms to do this if it should work out of the box. Just give it a hard reset.

Lucky you!
I've done many hard resets and ROM updates, but my many contacts having birthdays added didn't produced any calendar events.
Not now, not ever.

could it be a bug from the date format(dd/mm/yyyy and not mm/dd/yyy)? I don't know what else, i've tried everything :-(
Strange... the events appeared in calendar after i synced the phone for the first time (i was in vacation and i haven't done it until now).
So, the solution is to sync your contacts with outlook, not only with PIM Backup.
Hi there,
When I sync/link my Contact with Facebook, I got wrong birth date for all of my contacts. The birth date shown in contacts are earlier by 1 day. Example, if my friend put their birth date in Facebook 5th November, when I sync my contact, it will shown as 4th November.
I wonder if there are others experiencing the same and is there any workarounds? TQ in advance.

have a same problem to.
I had a similar problem.
I think the problem is caused when you have multiple inputs (links) for a single contact (eg PC Sync, Facebook, SIM, etc).
The easiest thing to do is to un-link your contact, see if you've got a birthday for him or her in any other input (apart from facebook). Remove the birthday in the other links, then re-link it all up.
This should solve the issue.
I only store my contacts in my gmail account, in which mostof those contacts in my gmail do not have birthday specified. All birthday date are from facebook. But still I have this problem. When I check their facebook profiles, the date are correct. So the problem must be when Desire show the date in "people" contact.
At first I thought the problem was caused by the ROM I installed. I have tried many ROM - Defrost, NextSense, AuraxtSense, CM, LeeDroid. All of them the same. I wonder why..

could it be to do with timezones?
something trying too hard to get the birthdays correct in real time so you don't send the well wishes to your friend on the other side of the date line 1 day too early or too late?
I'm syncing all my contacts from my Exchange account, and have birthdays as part of the contact info for some contacts. Now I found that on my Desire Z (unbranded, never rooted, original ROM), all the birthdays appear the day after the actual birthday of said person. Not cool to miss a friend's birthday by one day
I made sure that time zone settings, date format, etc. are the exact same on the phone and the server, but that didn't help. I completely removed the exchange account after messing with the settings, to make sure to give it a chance to update correctly. No luck.
This was not a problem on my HTC Legend which was syncing with the same Exchange account.
Of course I tried searching the forum, but didn't find any issues similar to this. I'm sorry if I just missed it.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas as to how to resolve it?
Just to note you are not alone.
But in my case the birthday is one day to early and has a time added (22:00:00.000Z).
Also didn't find a solution so far. Didn't have this problem with original HTC ROM. So you should also mention which ROM you are running. Have this problem with CM 7.0.3 and also observed it in Enhanced Email which are both based on original source.
HTC may have fixed this already.
Same problem
I have the same problem on my Sony Ericsson Experia Pro. Birthdays are one day earlier than on Exchange Server. Did someone find the solution?
Which TimeZone are you in?
Cause I know if you use NZST (GMT +12) it has that same error.
I have contacted HTC about this bug previously, and they reckon they are working on it.
their recommended fix was using another GMT+12 timezone.

I had this same problem. My solution was to use Google Calendar and to use Google's Calendar Sync to sync to my Outlook, rather than my phone syncing directly to the PC.
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
Hi guys.
Since the last update 2.2.1 I've got a strange issue on my desire HD.
On my HTC agenda, I enabled the facebook calendar which allows me to see my friend s upcoming birthdays. However those facebook birthday events appear correctly on 1st day i activate it. But the day after all the facebook events appear twice. And the day after 3 times, and then 4.........
Only way to solve it is to delete my facebook for htc sense account, and to set it up again. But on day 2 it starts again........
Am I the only one ?
Same problem here ! Mon poto !
Someone has a fix ?
Did you try to delete cash of Calendar app:
Settings-applications-manage applications-(tab) Running-Calendar-clear data
After cleaning - do a synchronization with Google, HTC, Facebook, etc.
Regards.
I change rom every weeks so yes I have test a lot of things.
Thanks for your reply
I have noticed that when I view Birthday information for my contacts via "People", this birthday data comes from Facebook btw - that all of the Birthdays are off by 1 day when I compare it to birthdays listed in the Facebook application.
Anyone else having this issue!?!?
I have not had this issue . So sorry can't really help .
I would try going on HTC Sense Facebook account and remove the account if you are still having issues.
Noticed it with my Exchange accounts.. Although, now that you mention it, maybe it is FB that's showing it..

I can tell it is FB for me because when I click on a contact in People and scroll down to Information, where the Birthday is shown it has a little FB icon way to the right.
But very strange - exactly one day less than actual Birthday data in FB.
I can confirm this as well.
Posted from my Droid Incredible 2
I am seeing the same exact thing. The Facebook birthdays are all 1 day early. Exchange synced birthdays are correct.
Good to know I'm not the only one with this issue. It sucks cause when I show off to my friends how integrated it all is to their Facebook/Twitter, the first thing they'll say is, "Umm, why is my birthday wrong?".
Hopefully we'll see a fix soon.
Mine all integrated into the calendar correctly

Everything seems to be fine in the actual calendar app, but not when you view it under "People" (Contacts).
Hmmmm, all of mine are correct in there as well....
