Hi all,
I have a problem. I have a brown htc desire.
I rooted it and flashed a custom ROM and radio.
The custom ROM is DJDroid. But now i cant get my phone to go in landscape mode.
Even in the app accelerometervalues i only get 0's. So it's not working!
A friend of mine has the same rom and radio, and it works great there.
What can i try to fix this? Or is it hardware dead?
Thanks in advance.
Dennis
Also here some problems...
Please test also the magnetic compass after the update to Radio:
32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04
It works not correct in horizontal position...
It stuck, moves 180 degrees and needs often calibration.

An update from me : After flashing an old Radio & old ROM (Defrost 0.7) it works again It works like a charm. No problems at all. But where the problem lies, i don't know ! :O
If all else fails, try dropping on a HTC ROM, test landscape mode, rooting it, test landscape mode again, and then flash a Cooked ROM and see if there is any differance
NINJA EDIT > Nice work sorting it mate

In a few moments i will try the latest radio & DJDroid V1 I will keep you guys updated!
Here is te last update : Flashed the latest radio and DJDroid V1 and everything works perfect. Even in the landscape modus. Strange...
Whoop Whoop, proof you can;
a) Flash as much as you want
&
b) Sticking to it eventually fixes it
Yay, this is really great. It worked for like several weeks, no problems at all.
I updated my rom to DeFrost 1.3(i always update to the latest instantly) and my accelerometer is dead again.
How can i fix it now? Completly wipe & format everything again ? :O I don't hope so!
If you have SpareParts installed, go check the rotation settings there. It might be set to portrait only.

I don't have spareparts So that can't be the problem.

It was removed from DeFrost ?
I also have accelerometer problems with CM6 Bravo nightly builds. I know at first it worked, and now suddenly it doesn't.
I'm at work currently so I cant mess with it too much. I will try when I get home tonight.
If you find anything out let me know so I can try/do the same to fix it. I'll also update here if I find a proper easy fix.
thanks
I flashed the latest leaked RADIO ROM and now everything is working perfectly again.
A bug in the radio?

Hi,
I recently flashed my first rom (Leedroid 2.2.2) and when I open the youtube app that was installed,( i think it's the most recent youtube app because it's not the same as the stock one), I can watch movies smooth.
But when I press the back button to close it, the DHD becomes really laggy. Like 1 frame per 5 seconds...
Only solution so far is to reboot...
At this point I'm trying to find the process with OSMonitor, but it takes age to go down the list... Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Edit: it's youtube 2.1.6

version 2.3.32.29-Leedroid-Ace-V2.2.2 , which is weird because I thought it came with V2.2.8 like in your signature
I'm not sure if Lee updates the ROM with each new kernel release so it might be a good plan to download and flash v2.2.8 kernel separately. That should solve your YT problem

Ok thanks for your help
I already downloaded the kernel, but figuring out a way to flash it now
Edit: seems ok now: 2.6.32.33 V2.2.8
Is there a reason you have a different radio version? because i flashed the recommended radio 26.04.02.17_M2
Thanks for your help!

No probs, happy to help
I have a different radio as the recommended one didn't give me good battery life.
Everyone has different experience with radios though as it depends on a few different factors, such as location to nearest mast etc. So what works for one person may not work for the next. Stick with what you're using if you're happy with it but feel free to try different ones too, just so long as you're confident flashing them.

OUCH! WHAT are you going to do? flash another rom maybe?
well thats 2 roms that didnt work, maybe try another and if that doesnt work then revert to the stock htc probably
Hi jmealiff92
You have to be patient enough to allow the ROM, Kernel and the GPS signal to adjust itself. Today may not work, but tomorrow can. (i'm not sure why, its weird). Lol. Im currently using LeeDrOid v2.2.3 and it works great. =)
Could be a hardware fault.

as the topic says I can't get GPS working with SlimBean ROM. it's JB 4.1.2 based on Jellytime R30. I have the GPS setting turned on but nothing happens when I try the "local" app.
Any suggestions please?
cheers
Did you full wipe before flashing? Does GPS work on another ROM? If so, it's probably a ROM-specific issue.
Yes I did a full wipe and yes GPS works fine on other ROMs I have tried. Hopefully someone who uses this ROM might be able to help.

Are you sure you waited long enough to get a fix? Not 100% sure, but I thought after a full wipe all A-GPS data is gone. Not a single sattelite with GPS Test?

are you using SlimBean?
Did you do anything special to get it to work eg settings?
Are you using internal or external antenna?
What apps do you have it working with?
A while ago I rooted my DesireHD and installed a custom rom.
After that my GPS didn't work anymore..
I tried a new custom Rom and tried updating 'Radio' with another Rom / Update.
Now, all my apps crash that use GPS, which is kind of a problem, since I use Google Maps & Navigator a lot..
Can anyone please tell me what a good DHD Rom / Radio is these days I should use, and how I can install these properly?
Thanks!

I know how to search this forum, thanks anyway... Problem is, there are threads with 20+ radio updates.. How would I know which one is best, and what is the proper order to install, the radio first, or android first..

Ok, i was just talking to someone that was having the exact same problem as you and it turned out that he wasnt properly doing a full wipe.
You need to format everything other than the sd. In 4ext the option for this is in wipe > format all partitions (except sdcard)
Make sure you do this.

1. Users arent really having to go through much trouble. The only difference now is that you need to reboot in between flashing the rom and gapps.
2. By slightly breaking the setup wizard, I seem to have been able to fix the WiFi bug where it would get stuck turning on. I would rather have better working WiFi that I constantly use, than a perfectly working setup wizard which I only use once. Im sure the majority of other users feel the same.

VPN Issues
Greetings, I have installed Beanstalk 4.4.2 on my 4 years old Desire just few days ago. So far so good, it is great, fast, it really revived my smartphone. But ...
What is the reason no form of VPN works on it? I have some prepaid solution and its app doesn't work. OpenVPN doesn't. PP2P/L2TP solutions don't work. Is it system bug which needs fix or am I doing anything wrong?
Thanks for answer.

Sorry to ruin it for you but camera will not be fixed with K3 release, if it will be released anytime which I highly doubt anymore. It is a matter of unreleased sources and libs by HTC, so the best we will get is what we already have, camera-wise. So long story short, if you want fully functional camera and video recording, GB is the only way or that chinese ICS released sometime ago.

So if I want fully functional and fast HTC Desire I should go for Mild Wild or pure CM? What is the difference between cm based and redux based MW? Thanks.

They're just slightly different ROM bases. Install both, see which one you prefer
It's the best way to find out, unlike recommendations without justifications as above..
Remember you can maximise space much better with either of those ROMs as they into smaller hboots
CM version will fit into cm7r2, redux should fit into oxygenR2, check the threads.
