I own an Android Developer Phone1 and have been working with it sans problems.
Once I tried to flash the OpenEclair 2.0 and succeeded in that. But as the performance was sluggish, I wanted to restore the stock ROM.
Accidentally I flashed drea100.nbh and my ADP was downgraded to a retail phone. After a long struggle I somehow managed to restore the original ADP bootloader.
But, now I have a problem. The phone does not recognize any SIM cards.
I thought the hardware might have gone bad, but found the "Lock SIM card" checkbox ticked in the SIM card lock settings.
I am unable to uncheck this, as it is asking me for the PIN and even if I enter 1234 or 0000 it is saying wrong PIN. Can someone help me remove this lock?

finally, imei-check has added x01ht to their list. now, you can unlock network and career lock with them. this means you can use other careers' SIM and burn any ROM you want.

Hi, I justed used the imei-check to unlock my newly purchased Softbank X01HT. The unlock seemed to go just fine, but now when I a short while after reboot I get a blank screen in japanese that says something about my USIM card, with a blank field for entering something (maybe a code?)
Otherwise the phone is disabled.
Did I just screw up my USIM card? I did the unlock with the SIM card installed -- was that wrong?
m.
nevermind
did a hard reset and it seems to fix the problem. sorry about the confusion.
i seem to be stuck here now and hardresetting only delays how long it takes before that screen comes back
Hi,
I have a SIM unlock code but when I insert a new SIM it doesn't prompt for the unlock code.
I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that my phone asks for the language every reboot and it "covers" the unlock screen.
Is there a hidden menu or USSD code that I can use for type in my SIM unlock code?
Cheers

You installed a KK version and have wrong baseband, kernel or something else wrong. Nothing you can do about it except flashing correctly according to the guide here in the forum.
I flashed the custom KK rom and had the same problem. Only by following the guide on how to install KK with locked dual recovery and root very exact, I got it working.
I thought that I followed the guide step by step but I'll give it another try
Thank you

I tried with the UK unbranded JB and KK without luck so far

BTW: If phone detects SIM properly, then "setup guide" should show up only after first phone start.
Hi,
I don't have the "Sim card lock settings" in my Security menu.
but if I go to the "service Menu" - Service Info - Sim Lock y shows an X on "network" and a 5.
I think it means that it is locked and I have 5 unlock attempts.
BUT if I put a new SIM it doesn't recognize it and it doesn't prompt for an unlock code
Q u,z

Try this? I did this to unlock a ZL (Jellybean) last night (not intentionally, this is just the order in which we happened to do it).
1) Put in correct SIM (a SIM that has the carrier in which the phone is locked to)
2) Do the initial setup stuff to get it out of the way (this is so it doesn't bother you with it again and again)
3) Power off, put in illegal SIM, power on. It should ask for unlock code without anything overlapping it.
Hello,
Currently i am running the latest version of CM13 (cm-13.0-20160307-UNOFFICIAL-Z00A.zip ) on my phone, but this issue also occured with the other versions starting from the 1st of march.
With 2 sims inserted in my phone, both of these sim cards work fine when i put them separately in the phone, however when i put them both in some weird issues occur.
The problems start when booting my phone, the phone asks me to enter the PIN for sim 1, which works and connects the card to the network ( and fetches my latest messages and such )
Then the phone obviously asks me for the PIN of my second sim, which it accepts. However after accepting my SIM the same popup comes up asking me for my PIN for sim2 again.
And when entering the PIN it gives me the error : "SIM PIN operation failed".
After multiple attempts, it finally gets me in the phone. However the data on SIM1 is not functioning anymore.
What i've tried is:
Multiple different CM releases from the past week
Putting my phone in airplane mode and out again
Factory reset the phone
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
My father in law died last weekend and we don't know the pincode of his stock Nexus 5X. We can access his Google account and we know the pincode of his sim card. I hope someone can help us out to get access to his phone. Things we've tried:
- The vingerprint reader was setup but we've tried a lot of possible pins. We've tried his vinger yesterday but because of the attempts the pin is also required now.
- With a pattern lock you'll get a possibility to unlock through the Google account password after some attempts but his phone was secured with a vingerprint and/or pincode. Only the delay between attempts get increased, currently 16 minutes between them.
- The lock option from https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager, but because there is already a pin lock it doesn't work. The pin doesn't change.
- I've tried to access the phone through ADB, booted into the recovery but "adb devices" doesn't see the phone. When I choose to "install update through adb" I see the devices with "adb devices" but I can't use "adb shell", only sideloading works.
- Installing a custom recovery could work but the bootloader is locked, when I unlock it a full wipe will be performed so we still can't access the data.
- From the Play store in the browser on my Mac I've installed the androidlost.com app on the phone, but the app needs to be opened once before it can be used.
- A rubber ducky could help us out, but I don't have one and the time between attempts get increased and increased... it would take weeks, months or years to unlock.
What other possibilities do I have?
First sorry for your lost!
Second, i don´t know for sure, but maybe get the phone to the store where you bought it and explain the situation, maybe they will give a correct advice or like you said the phone is registed in google ( device manager) maybe if you contact them they will help you with that ( the problem is they probably will take a long time to reply or don´t reply at all) or wait for a more expert user than me here in xda,
again, sorry for your lost and hope you solve this problem,
cheers
If the phone was rooted with a recovery installed, YES, you could delete the passcode files and get into it, without root/recovery, you cannot get into it without the password, that is the point of encryption and passwords and all that jazz.... Yes there is probably a way for some high level hacker to do it but good luck finding that.... If you just want to be able to USE the phone, do a factory reset from recovery....
So... I stared into the abyss, but I came back from the brink - unlocked bootloader, and the modem/calibration stuff got wiped during what should have been a routine TWRP flash from fastboot, and left me with no radios whatsoever. After flashing S048, and applying all the known OTAs up till S251, I got my wifi & bluetooth radios back, but it didn't seem to recognise my SIM (tried both slots).
After trying for almost a week, I also finally got the diagnostics mode going and was able to put a working QCN backup in place (thank you XDA and uploader).
So I flashed the LineageOS 15.1 20180413, and lo and behold, it sees the SIM and asks for a PIN to unlock it. So far, so good. Then (first time) Android says 'switching to mobile data, might take a while' but nothing really happens (I am on wireless; if I turn off wifi that doesn't make any difference though).
Under 'Network', 'Automatically select network' is enabled but 'Network' (right below) is greyed out. When I untick 'Automatically select network', it says 'Error while searching for networks'. When I re-tick it again, it says 'Registered on network', although nothing really happens.
Under SIM cards, it says slot 1 is populated, but says 'Mobile Vikings is disabled' (Mobile Vikings being my provider). The button to enable it is greyed out. Switching to airplane mode doesn't force anything either.
I've had a logcat instance open when toggling 'Automatically select network', but nothing related seems to show up. Any hints on what I could try/check? Or is this a coaster?
I believe that once you erase the modem stuff you'll always have serious problems restoring it. It seems like most people have to send the device in for service.
I've still no solution for an old P2 of mine and in that case I even had a TWRP backup.
Lenovo should really allow for us to flash stock images . An unlocked bootloader with LESS privileges makes no sense.
Wipe everything in twrp & flash twrp full backup which included efs & modem shared on our p2 forum. then flash Fastboot s48 only systemchuncks 0-14, boot & recovery then do 4-5 OTAs updates till latest one s251, you'll get you mobile network & calls back.
@eried1 Yeah looks like it
@amansehdav I have turned the P2 subforum upside down and I already tried this - restore a working S233 TWRP backup, flash S048 through fastboot, and upgrade with the OTAs till S251. No dice. Wifi and Bluetooth came back with that process, but the stock firmware would not see the SIM.
