Thanks. Lockbot looks nice but I do not want to change the lock pattern. Lockbot will change the lock pattern as well as the background picture on the lock screen.
(I am using Calkulin's ROM and prefer that lock pattern to Sense UI lock).

Bump. Bump.......

Looking for a lock screen replacement.

I'm currently using livelocker but find it to be a bit linear and plane. Can anyone suggest a good versatile alternative.

haven't found anything much more versatile than widgetlocker. it is a paid app, though.

miui lockscreens are pretty slick, but that isn't a "lockscreen replacement" - that's a rom replacement... not what op is looking for.
google ripple lock, it's the lockscreen from android 3.0
And... is it possible to remove the lock screen?

CyanogenMod has that feature built-in but if you aren't running it then WidgetLocker has it as well.

No, you can't. Wallpaper on ur homescreen and the shortcuts on the dock will be mirrored to the one you will be seeing at the lockscreen.

[MOD] Lock Screen with live wallpapers.

Hi there is a way to have a lockscreen with live wallpapers. Its very easy just rename the LockScreen3.apk to LockScreen3.apk.bak, or just freeze it in titanium backup. I tough I share it if anyone interested. Again have a nandroid backup just in case.
When you first set it it is going to be see-through. The see-through part will go away after restart.

HI, have you run into any problems with this. I like to use live wall papers and having one on my lockscreen would be cool. Does it work with any live wall paper?:silly:

That's exactly what I don't want. I want to be able to set my lockscreen to a live wallpaper and my homescreen to a picture.

You can't, like I said a few posts prior. Hopefully someone will come up with a mod to make this possible

AOSP lockscreen app?

What's the best app for an AOSP-style lockscreen with customizable shortcuts? The two that I know of are Widgetlocker and Holo Locker but both are paid apps. I don't mind paying for it but I'd like to hear some feedback before buying.

Question about Holo Locker - if you choose the AOSP lockscreen, can you have more than 3 shortcuts not including the unlock shortcut. In the description it says you can have top, bottom, right and left but I'm assuming one of those spaces is reserved to unlock your device.

I've been using Android for about 4 years mate and I've never seen an option to re-size a widget on the lock screen unless we're given different sizes to choose from. Sowy

Only in some custom ROMs like OmniRom, Paranoid Android etc...

I use Widget Locker and both my 'regular' widgets Poweramp, Beautiful Weather and Mortplayer have widgets that are either (a) comes in different sizes and/or (b) sizeable. Just hold down the widget for the options.
i've just discovered this option in lockscreen as well and i've been wondering the same thing. i have a weather widget 5x2 and i would like to make by default the whole lockscreen height
