Oh. First you need to delete or rename that pc*** filename to something else, so it won't scan it each time. Then when it tries to find it and fails you should get a 'recovery' option in that screen.

you need to rename the pc36img.zip file to something else.

yeah just got it. thanks guys. was freaking out. im hoping i can flash a rom now. before i was getting a power cycle and would constantly replay the sprint 4g bootup. but i forgot to wipe phone before flashing dc rom. so wiping and flashing now. hopefully it works.
also on his thread it says
"ALSO NOTE 3.2.2 AND HIGHER REQUIRE NEW RADIO AND WIMAX UPDATE FOR 4G!!! SEE BELOW FOR MORE!"
does that mean i need to flash these 2 recent ones
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485&highlight=adb+shell

Just use the baked snack ROM and save yourself the hassle of switching ROMs constantly.

ha
BakedSnack our whatever had me at like 150 wakeups in powertop from fresh flash.
IA'mt 32 now with dc. But whatever too each their own

well gonna try dc rom for now. but how do i flash the radio files?

the same way you flash a rom, just minus the wiping

Follow the whitslack starting over guide. Then flash dc ontop. This will make sure you have latest radio and wimax and is simplest.

If you haven't already, flash amon RA recovery v2.2.1. It is safest method I know. Then download calkulins combo radio update. In recovery make a nandroid. Always make a nandroid. Then flash the combo. Restart. Viola. Hope that helps. BTW myn's rom is simply incredible.

Can someone tell me where to look up the WiMax version......it's the only thing I don't know how/where to look up.

I had a semi-similar problem and now RLS 5 will install. I tried updating like you said though and it appears to have worked so far.

[Q] Unrooting w/ leaked Froyo radio?

I'm gonna be sending in my Slide for a replacement rather soon, and I have a concern regarding flashing back to stock. I know about the Champion build, that's all fine and dandy, but I've flashed the newest/leaked radio (the one CR posted). Is there some voodoo I hafta do so I can send it in? Do I gotta flash a different radio? If so, which?
I'm running the CM7 nightly, build 16. I have factory data wiped quite a few times from Clockwork. I don't have S-off (so its S-On :3). A swift response would be vastly appreciated
Flashing the ESPRMG.zip (or whatever the file is. The one that lets you flash the clockworkmod recovery) should put you back stock. Then click on system update in the about phone section of the menu.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920757
This thread is for radios. It has a S-OFF section and an S-ON section for radios.

So, wait... I can downgrade the radio back to stock like this right? With the CR update.zip method, right? I just wanna make sure I cover all my bases before attempting this.
If you are rooted, and you want to Downgrade a radio
simple
1) Reboot to recovery...
2) apply update.zip
3) Choose sip from SD card
4) Find w/e the name of the radio is
5) Reboot through recovery
-Note, I always keep 2 radios in SD card.. the one im flashing to, and the one im currently on. Just in case something happens.
Also, if you run into a boot loop after flashing Radio, go to recovery and click "Wipe data/factory reset"

Yeah. I think the latest official one is the one that ends with .10
Just flash a completely bare bone stock espresso ROM and the .10 radio

Forget all that crap people tell you all over everywhere
Downgrade the radio the way I told you.
Reboot the device and play with it for a while or w/e u want.
Then just follow this steps
Get the Download from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713507
Just Rename > ESPRIMG(2).zip
to ESPRIMG.zip & place on the Root of your Sdcard..
1.
Power Off the Phone either by Power Down / Battery Pull..
2.
Hold Volume Down + Power Button..
3.
Walk away, get a soda / Give the Better half a Kiss or two
4.
Hit the Volume Up key to Confirm to Flash.

--> Really, you dont need any ADB, terminal, comandpromp/cmd
Just do the above.. it took me less than 10 minutes. (it could take more)

Rebooting into recovery problems

I'm wanting to load CM7 on my phone, but i'm having problems trying to do a nandroid. I have clockworkmod loaded, and i go into reboot mode, choose recovery, and it goes to the white HTC EVO screen and stays there. Is there something i need to change? Or is there another way to do a nandroid backup?
Try going into recovery manually. Turn phone off, power it on while holding vol down, select recovery from list.
Yeah that's what i've been doing, it goes to the next screen and then just doesn't do anything.
Try downloading a PC36IMG recovery, place on root of SD, and then re-flash a recovery?
I would try using ROM Manager to reflash your recovery.

Nope not yet. I've tried all the reflashing under rom manager and it still doesnt do anything. Downloading a pc36img file right now and gonna try that.

What PC36IMG file are you downloading? Not all PC36IMG's are created equal- they are all different and do different things.
Got the one in this link
http://www.technama.com/2010/sprint-htc-evo-4-g-android-2-1-phone-root-video/
No no no no no. That is waaay old and outdated, not even sure what it does. Give me a minute, I'm trying to find the right one for you. You are still able to boot into the ROM, correct?
edit: I'm trying to find you a flashable version of clockworkmod but the search function here sucks. I have a bunch of crap I need to be doing so I can't keep looking. My suggestion- track down clockworkmod in flashable PC36IMG.zip form, or even Amon_RA. Just get a custom recovery back on your phone. When I'm done doing my crap I'll check back and see what progress you've made.

He means if you can turn the phone on and actually use it..ect. The OS of you phone.
Ah gotcha. No actually, it just goes to the white 'Evo 4g' screen. I does go to the hboot screen though.
Hold on..I'll have to pick up where _MetalHead_ left off. Give me a minute to find the file.
Edit: Try this, I found a recovery image.
The first one was for clockworkmod. This is for Amon_RA, if you so choose.
Siggggghhhhhhhh. Still won't do anything. Do i need to delete any other versions of the file that are on the sd? I got rid of the other one i posted the link to.
Yea you need to. You can only have 1 PC36IMG on your sd card at a time, then boot into the bootloader, and it should ask you to update.

WONT FLASH ANY ROM. annoying

So I have an incredible. FLAWLESS root and easy install for everything.
I just rooted a friends EVO, have root permission, and full root. I've tried both clock and supersonic recoveries. When i try to flash a rom VIA rom manager OR manually, i click it, hit yes and it writes one line and instantly goes back to the options. It seems as the phone just will not take ANY rom at all... what could be the problem??

Try re-downloading the ROM, you may have a bad download. Also, try flashing with Amon RA recovery.....it's never let me down. Make sure your battery is fully charged, too.
+1 for Amon Ra, though it looks like you've already tried it (that is what you mean by "supersonic", right?).
Try flashing the recovery manually. Download a PC36IMG.zip of Amon Ra and put it on the root of the SD card - don't rename it. Boot into the bootloader (hold the vol down + power buttons simultaneously until the phone boots into bootloader) and wait for it to scan. While you're there, double check that the phone is actually s-off & not s-on. When it asks you to update, choose yes. Say no to reboot, then choose recovery from the bootloader screen and try again.
Give me a minute & I'll post the file. I'm using the app atm.
It won't upload, so here's a link:

Most devs post md5s with the download, I'd verify it matches.

nope, still getting the same problem. updated everything, flashed serveral pc35imgs and still i go to install zip from sd card and it starts but instantly stops and wont flash the rom.... what else to do....
Do you mind posting all of the info on the phone? Whatever it says in the "About Phone" menu & what it says in the bootloader. Maybe we can figure something out from there.
Also, from where are you downloading the roms? As someone else mentioned, check the md5s.
Oh, and what roms have you tried flashing... I'm just curious. This is going to bother me if I can't figure it out, lol.

The file should be named PC36IMG.zip, not PC35IMG. Also, it should be ran from the Bootloader, not recovery.

[Q] Back to Gingerbread after going ICS?

If this has been asked before then please forgive me...
I can not go back to any backup I had of CM7 or Gingerbread Sense ROM since upgrading to some Alpha ICS roms. I've tried wiping everything & started from scratch on these roms but I always get stuck at "failed to write boot partition from /tmp/boot.img" It doesn't matter what Gingerbread ROM I choose with the exception of MIUI rom (don't know why). I thought maybe I could use that as a stepping stone to go back from there but nogo. I've used RA's recovery & CWM with no success. Any ideas?

I can say with certainty that I don't have this problem. I've flashed every ROM from here to Timbuktu, AOKP, Deck's, Evervolv, and have had no problem restoring a nandroid of, or flashing MikG, Mik3D, MikRunny, The Express, or any other ROM I may have forgotten.
That boot partition error doesn't sound good, though. What HBOOT version do you use?

No reason to upgrade - just wondering.
I'd recommend you flash a stock ROM in the bootloader - that should normalize everything, and then try those other ROMs again.

In the first "My Links" link in my sig, there are 3 of them.
They're PC36IMG files - you rename the file to exactly that - PC36IMG.zip - and put the file on the root of your sd card. Then you reboot your device into bootloader (HBOOT) mode. From a powered off state, hold the Volume down button and then press and hold the power button until you see the HBOOT screen. The file should be recognized and loaded, and after a minute or so it will ask you to update. Press Volume Up to accept, and then wait for a while.
NOTE: This will upgrade your HBOOT, but that's no big deal. The phone will reboot into the bootloader once near the beginning of the process by itself - that is also okay. Don't touch anything while it's updating.
At the end of the process, you'll need to find a PC36IMG for your preferred recovery (RA-supersonic-v2.3 recommended), which you will flash the same way as the ROM (in fact, you can replace the ROM file with the recovery file - unless you want to hold on to it, then you can just move or rename it).

Failed on #4 Boot.... it stated "failed - PU" "Partition failed" Fun times.... Now the phone is a brick (stuck at the white screen).... Where there is a will then there is a way so I'll find a way.... any help would be appreciated though....
Sooo... I was able to flash back my alternate recovery using a PC36IMG version of it. Thank god for the rooted community.... Restoring back my last backup. Funny though, that I still could not restore a rooted stock backup I had or a new upgraded .zip that I wanted to use. Common denominator in all this (even when trying to use the 4.24.651.1 version of the stock software PC36IMG), it can not write the boot.img Any one else had this problem? Next I will try to RUU which will technically make me lose root but I should be able to get it back, assuming I'm successful, since I still have S-OFF.
PS: My HBOOT now, btw, is 2.16.0001 so I know that the original attempt to get back to gingerbread was succesful
