Member or Moderator? - About xda-developers.com

I've clicked on the "View forum leaders" at the bottom of the page and got a question. Some assigned moderators (for example: first moderator on the list is +Que PPC) were shown as "Senior member" rather than "moderator" in their user profiles or posts. In this case, it is difficult to know if s/he is a mod or not in each of his/her post. Why? Any hidden agenda?

It's because the mods specific to Chef central don't have a title they only moderate the specific area same as forum specific mods but they will have a title next to name and can only moderate the specific area appointed, then Senior\Committee mods can moderate everywhere on the forum.
No hidden agenda.

So do the Chef central mods (without title) have the same power as other specific mod (such as closing thread, banning member etc)? Or they will be titled first before having power same as other mods?
In addition, I've seen that we have different types of mod now. What are the main differences of power between specific forum mod, senior moderator and Moderator Committee?
Thanks

The folks who moderate in CC (ex: Que PPC) should have their status (titles) changed to indicate that they moderate in CC. A note has been sent to the XDA Admins regarding this.
Moderator types:
Forum Moderator (New): moderates one or more sub-forums; usually devices forums but in some cases, generic forums such as CC. Can only moderate thread/posts in assigned sub-forums.
Moderator: moderates all of XDA, can apply account suspensions. This is the original moderator status.
Moderator Committee (New): group of moderators who have been assigned extra duties.
Cheers,

Thanks for explanation...

OPERATION:IRON FIST is now in effect

As was announced last week, Operation:Iron Fist is in full effect. Read about it here.
With that being said, the following will begin to happen:
1. All non-development threads started in the Development section will be moved to the appropriate section and/or closed and the "responsible" poster (in quotes because the fact they posted in the wrong section clearly brings into question whether or not they are responsible) will be infracted.
2. Any abusive posts directed at any user will be deleted and the abuser will be infracted and/or given a temporary vacation. Multiple instances will result in a longer leave-of-absence, and if it continues you will be removed from XDA. You, and your behavior, are not welcome at XDA.
3. Any off-topic posts in the Development section threads will be deleted. These are non-helpful, and certainly not development posts. This includes the following:
"OMG THIS IS SO GREAT!"
"WOW! YOU ROCK AND I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES!"
"THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!"
"THANKS FOR THIS!"
If you want to thank someone for their work, do so by clicking the "THANKS" button on their post.
4. Any post, in any section, that is done to further post count will be deleted and you will face possible infraction.
5. Anything else that goes against the XDA Forum Rules and XDA Mantra will be dealt with firmly, but fairly.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] New Forum Moderator System

Hi all,
As detailed in this portal post, XDA is currently reworking the Forum Moderator system.
Instead of having very specific moderators for each device, each manufacturer has now its assigned moderators.
Larger OEMs are split up into multiple groups (ie. International / CDMA / US / Canada / Tablets).
You can see the list of the assigned moderators on top of each forum, right above the forum rules.
There is also a global list of all moderators available here.
