[Q] Error searching for network

EDIT: Fixed. I had already tried flashing updated stock roms before flashing CM9 and it didn't seem to help but I tried a few more, and the one called "R800_4.0.2.A.0.79.ftf" fixed it. After that I wiped everything, installed cm9 again and now it gets a signal
original post:
I installed CM9 on my Xperia Play and now it doesn't properly detect the SIM card. It says "No service" and when searching for available networks it gives an unhelpful message "error searching for network". If I try to add the APN manually it gets ignored.
I've seen other people with this problem but every solution I've found has been things I've already done, or broken links.
I updated my baseband using Flashtool but it didn't help and in fact the phone seems more sluggish now after doing that.
The SIM works fine in another phone. These are all unlocked devices.

[Q] Stuk on No Signal after *228

While traveling away from home, I noticed a large area with no coverage, so I tried to update my roaming capabilities through *228.
The phone rebooted and has been showing "no Signal" since. I could be standing right below a tower and still get the no signal message.
I'm not trying to reflash it, but always get the same problem. I reflashed various versions of boot.img, recovery.img and of the ROM, but always with no luck, the phone is always stuck in No SIgnal mode. Wifi runs fine, so I assume it's not an antenna problem. I'm running the TWRP tools 4.2.3.1 and the x3reme Sense ROM. I can connect it to my computer, and send adb or fastboot commands, not problem.
One problem may be that when I try to wipe the phone clean, I get an error message "can't mount /sd-ext" and the script aborts. So I never fully wipe the phone.
How can I fully wipe the phone? is this what I should be doing? Do I need to go back to CDMA tools to reconfigure?
Thanks in advance!

Interesting things can happen when trying this function:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus/149519-updating-your-verizon-preferred-roaming-list-prl-228-a.html
I don't say you have damaged your sim card already but it's might be worth testing with different one rather than changing kernels and roms.

Interesting point. Thanks.
I should add that I have a CDMA phone (Verizon/VM/PP...) flashed for Page Plus.
Still, I suspect something was written over and this is why I may have to use CDMA workshop to look into this.
Or wipe it and start over.
Does anyone know?
As an update, turned out the problem was in the PRL file.
Using CDMA tools, I reloaded the pageplus.prl file and the system came back alive!
I hope this helps someone else.

[E986] No network signal, no IMEI

Hi,
I flashed now 2 different roms from this forum, going to stock before with LGMLauncher and it's always the same:
After a couple of days I lose my IMEI and no signal from network.
Also, when I try to flash modem/baseband i receive the error "Failed to mmap aboot. Error loki-fying the boot image"
When I reflash the rom everything works fine until I reboot, that's where it stops working.
I use CWM for recovery.
Thanks.

No mobile service available

Good morning, from yesterday evening I suffer this annoying problem on my HTC 10. After tried to install Xposed Framework, on the next reboot I have no mobile service. It appears, in the upper left corner, "no service available". If I try to remove the sim card, it says that there isn't any sim card. I've tried the RUU but nothing, tried to flash some custom roms but nothing. It seems like something being corrupted in EFS, the IMEI it's ok and not null. Any suggestion to solve?

Did the RUU format the phone? I would try a format of data with twrp then install RUU. If that doesnt work could be a simcard fault. Try another sim.

I've tried with format data before flashing RUU, yesterday late night, but nothing, still no signal. I have tried the simcard in an old Samsung Galaxy ACE and it works flawlessly.
Can you use data? If you can I would get your IMEI checked to see the status of it.
Do not post it online here has it is personal information.

I cannot use data. Can I send you a private message to check my IMEI?
I have seen it be a bad IMEI if you can use data but not get any phone signal. That does not sound like the issue here.

If I send you my IMEI could you check if it's bad or not and if my issue it's IMEI related?
No it is best not to share with anybody. Just google search check IMEI and it will bring up a number of sites. One other thing is, if your s-off you could try flashing firmware to see if that helps.
I had this problem. Try flashing a stock RUU for your specific device. Shut down immediately following the flash, don't boot into ROM yet. Boot into STOCK recovery by holding volume down and power to get into download mode, then select bootloader, then recovery. Once in stock recovery do a factory reset from there. Then reboot the stock ROM and let it do it's thing, optimizing apps, etc. That should fix your problem.

[Q] dm-verity verification failed. Fingerprint not working

Hey I'm new to samsung phones and I was hoping there might be some fix I was unable to find for this maybe.
Fingerprint does not work at all. I'm unsure if there is other stuff that does not.
I get the dm-verity verification failed error in the stock recovery.
I only have that error right now.
I have 2 devices both are the same but one has the error one does not is there any way I can use one to fix the other?
I have tried all the threads on xda about this if they related to the error.
I have tried every stock os that would flash to my phone.
I tried to do a method with samung Smart Switch but failed because it keeps saying the Serial number is incorrect I'm unsure where to get it.
I tried quite a few different numbers in status and other area's. My phone does not have a sticker with the actual serial number just IMEI witch I tried that as well.
What causes this error? Is it a partition or some thing else? Maybe knox?
Can we just disable knox and do a bypass maybe?
Is there possibly a bypass to make fingerprint work even though there is a dm-verity error.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated thanks!
