I am using the app and can't find subscriptions. The closest thing is Profile --> "View all posts by MPG187" but that doesn't show if anyone replied and view all topics only shows threads I started and not other people's topics I replied to and it lists old topics at the top, could it have new ones at the top?

Have you tried the favorites tab?
I'm looking for this feature as well. In the web format of the forum, i have it set so any thread I post in is automatically added to subscriptions. So I can quickly see if there are any replies to the threads I am interested in by going to the user cp page. It would be nice to have a user cp page for the xda app also, instead of having to favorite every thread you post in.
Edit: apparently, favorites in the app is the same as subscriptions. I just noticed my posts made on pc (thus are subscribed to) are automatically showing up in the favorites tab. But posts made in the xda app are not automatically subscribed to, or added to favorites.

As this thread is 8 years old, I imagine the whole thing has changed since his post

hello
I am pretty new to xda (in terms of activeness) and this forum is absolutely awesosome and top class!!
but I miss facebook like notification center here when a user logs in , of course this is not a networking site but useful things are good to be adopted....
nyway this site is a great treat for me!!
You can subscribe to a thread, and you will get an email that someone posted in it.

In addition to what Jaszek said, XDA Mobile app has a notification feature, where you can configure it to send alerts and notifications to your status bar, when another member replies to a subscribed thread. I use it myself, and it's rather convenient.

didn't observe that till now!! will use it..
nway it would be even more convenient to have notifications like
some x replied u
some y quoted ur post
some z thanked for ur post x
instead of cluttering up ur email
just my opinion!

But it would clutter up XDA... There's not enough room even with my 2-monitor setup for that... 1080p screens wouldn't leave enough room!
get the app Tapatalk, and you can get almost instant notifications for your subscribed threads, and PMs.
the tapatalk chrome extension will only notify of PMs
and last i checked, so did the official XDA app for android.
Nevermind
I am new in xda. I want to know that , if i posted in a thread then how to get updates from that post? Like sms notification while using xda app or in web page...thanks
Xperian8~ click thanks if it helps...

You can set the XDA app to auto check for updates. There are no SMS replies available. If you really want to, you can subscribe to a thread and receive instant e-mail notifications of new posts. That's the closest it will get to instant SMS replies.
through web page automatically:
xda user control panel > options > Default Thread Subscription Mode - set to auto subscription
http://forum.xda-developers.com/profile.php?do=editoptions
half way down page.
through the web page manually:
in each thread you want to subscribe to, near the top is a "thread tools" button, click it then subscribe.
or on your phone with the xda app or tapatalk app
When I try to favorite a forum and exit the the app then enter it again it doesn't save it.
Its not only that though; When trying to post a photo in a post or topic the app says, "you need to login before you can post photos", when I am logged in.
The app also says to contact an administrator if this error occurs again, which it has over and over, so if there are any admins out there I'd love to report the issue.
Thanks!

Shoot them an email through their market page. I have had many issues with the newest release as well.
-Can't upload photos
-crashing when reading threads
-videos/photos not showing up
-app crashing when viewing a photo-
app crashes when grabbing thread URL in app
I'm guilty of not actually attempting to debug these issues in any way, but none the less they are all there and can be replicated with ease.
I'm having the same issue also

You could use the tapatalk app instead.

Hi guys
Just switched back to android from iOS after two years.. Am looking for an app or widget to post status update simultaneously to multiple social networks... Couldn't find it through search. I found multi post that uses ping.fm but that is now closed. Suggestions?

If This Then That - IFTTT
Not an app, but a web service - you can make basic 'recipes' such as "If I post a status on facebook, post a tweet". There are a bunch of triggers and actions you can use, plenty of services to hook into, and a bunch or recipes made by other people to browse.
Perhaps a bit more encompassing than an app; I thoroughly recommend it
Thanks for the suggestions friends. I am primarily looking to update fb, twitter, g+ and linkedin directly from one place without having to copy paste or retype. IFT TT is an option but I'd rather do it from one dedicated app or widget. Quite a few software for the same on iOS, one of my favorites being sociable. Anything that comes to mind for this?

Hi,
Since a few weeks (at least) the "View first unread" button always jumps to the last message in the thread.
Otherwise, the Android XDA app works as expected if I use the app first (if I open the app after pressing the "view first unread" button on the web site, the Android app points to the last message too)
It's just me? Thanks for your help
Just for clarification. By "Android XDA app" do you mean the XDA Legacy app? Did you ever tried XDA Labs?
I mean XDA Labs, sorry for my vagueness

I'm going to test my XDA Labs tomorrow morning after new posts came in for my subscribed threads during the night. Going to provide feedback afterwards.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear: I think XDA Labs works as expected in my opinion, it's the button on the forum desktop web pages that always brings me to the thread last message and not to my actual last read message.
If I open a thread using XDA labs after pressing the "view first unread" button on the web site, XDA Labs points to the last message too but it makes sense because "view first unread" brought me to the last message a minute before, therefore such message became my actual last read message.

Yeah, probably we talk past each other. For me, both, the desktop/browser forum and XDA Labs seem to work as advertised.
