I rooted and flashed clockwork orange. Now I want to revert back to complete stock recovery and all. How do I do this? I don't know if this is the right area for this topic.

flash the RUU .exe which will load the stock system, recovery, kernel and everything.
If I were to restore my EVO to stock, then run the official Sprint OTA update that just came out, will I still be able to root it? Or does the new update block Toast's root method?
Clockwork ORANGE??? lmao! I loved the movie though, loved it... U mean clockwork mod right? Oh yea just get the stock RUU.

The second OTA breaks RUU bootloader according to reports.
I tried the ruu and when it tries to open the bootloader it fails.

This is EXACTLY what I say in my head when speaking about Clockwork Mod.
I was able to get past waiting for bootloader by putting the phone in bootloader mode before running the RUU. But it gives an error message saying the bootloader version is incorrect.
dammit all i want is to go back to stock no root no nand because 4g is broken with these new ota rooted crap that came out today!
Can someone post the stock recovery or a method of going back to a stock recovery pleaseeeeeee

The steps below worked for me. I had the latest clockwork,dc rom and The latest rooted ota updates installed.
http://www.htc.com/us/support/evo-sprint/downloads/
I unplugged/plugged my phone into the computer a couple times, switched to htc sync mode when it asks what type of usb connection I wanted(to install more driver updates), and did 2 reboots on my computer (windows 7 ultimate x86) to get all the drivers updated/installed and working as they should,
then I just turned off the phone, held volume down and held down power button to get to bootloader,
then I pressed Power button one more time to get to the menu where I can reboot bootloader,
then I rebooted bootloader once or twice BEFORE the unrooting process for good measure.
Stock RUUs
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Supersonic/
RECAP
Download and install HTC Sync Update http://www.htc.com/us/support/evo-sprint/downloads/ (if you already have it installed then click the repair option, or better yet uninstall your current one even if it is the same one, reboot your computer and then install this one again, all for good measure.)
Download either one of the RUU Stock Roms, I would do the first just to be safe http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Supersonic/
Plug your phone into your computer, make sure ALL Drivers install properly if any, you may already have drivers installed, but double check, switch to HTC Sync mode and let it install any extra drivers, then turn off your phone and start it in bootloader (Hold Volume Down +Power button) Reboot your computer for good measure too, to make sure everything has been properly installed.
Then you can finally double click (right click run as admin imo) RUU_Supersonic_1.32.651.1_Radio_1.39.00.04.26_release_171253.exe and start the unrooting process, good luck!

if you have clockwork, you still have system access and should beable to use any of those RUU's to downgrade back to stock.
i did the same thing and now im back at stock and have latest update running stock rom.
put phone into bootloader mode, then run RUU_Supersonic_1.32.651.6_Radio_1.39.00.05.31_release_171253.exe
follow steps. and then you should have stock evo.
check for OTA updates and install it.
wait 10-15 minutes before rebooting after the update completes..
mine kept saying there was an update. which there wasnt, it just kept trying to download same update.
Yes it should I had clockwork too.

So recently I tried running unrevoked 3.32 on my Evo. Unrevoked pushed all the files, flashed unrevoked forever, rebooted, then even after my phone rebooted sat on rebooting. After around 10 minutes of waitng, I would unplug the phone. One thing I noticed however was that when this happened, my phone can not be recognized by my computer again until I restart it. Any ideas?
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10
My hardware version is 0003, hboot 2.10, and software version 3.70.651.1
Note: When booting into the bootloader, it shows s-off so I know unrevoked forever was successful, however, I have no recovery flashed and no root.
I've seen this same issue, but in Windows. All the Windows user has to do is reboot PC and restart UR3 until it succeeds. Linux is likely different.
UR3 sometimes gets hung up and you just need to restart the process until it completes.

Thanks for the advice, will give this a shot.
After a restart can your computer see the sdcard? Maybe you can put the newest Amon_RA recovery PC36IMG.zip on the root of the sdcard so that bootloader will see it and install it. Then you can get into recovery, add the ROM of your chowing on there and flash it and be back up and running instead of being stuck in bootloop hell.

This phone was rooted already, then today I returned it to stock since the cyanogen7 that was on there did not... somehow... have the menu option to "update profile" I needed to change my phone number. I wanted to re-root, but I'm having trouble where to begin.
In the Power+Vol Down boot screen, it shows S-OFF, and HBOOT 2.10.0001
I cant make Revolutionary work because 2.15 is the lowest HBOOT it accepts.
If I choose the "recovery" option in that list, I get a black screen with a red triangle/exclamation point icon over an icon of the phone. I have to take the battery out to get the phone back on.
The phone does work, btw. But I miss the stuff I get when it's rooted. Anyway... what do I do now? How do I get the recovery/cyanogen7 on there if I cant get superuser permissions?
I used some other method back when I rooted this phone, but I haven't seen anything yet to spark my memory of the steps.
U are already s-off. No need for revolutionary. Go to dev thread and look for amon_ra recovery. Download it and follow directions to flash it. Then download whatever rom u want and flash that. The red triangle just means you have no recovery.
Support TrevE !!
I thought Revolutionary was how I got the custom recovery on the phone, which I need before I can root? I;d like to put CWM on there, since I have a paid version of Rom Manager already, and I believe they work together well.

If that's your hboot then you rooted with unrevoked and don't use rom manager and clockworkmod everyone here will tell you it leads to problems

Okay, I did the Bootloader/PC36IMG.zip thing, and then I loaded the cyanogen7.1 zip and applied it. I got a load screen loop one time, but after taking out the battery and booting again, it loaded into cyanogen. I dont see the Market in the menu tho...
Rom Manager is installed though, but to do anything it wants to install CWM. So do I let it? I need the market, obviously. If Rom Manager is to be avoided, what replaces it? I liked how everything was in one place, with auto backup's and recovery of the phone, etc...

You just need to flash the latest gapps in recovery.
Okay, that's in process. But the question remains, should I uninstall Rom Manager or can I use it? If I shouldn't use it, is there anything that replaces it? How would I go about backing up my phone and data? I've paid for Titanium a while ago, so I know I can use that to backup app's, but what about the phone itself?

You'll have to uninstall rom manager as you need CWM recovery. To back up, simply backup all your apps and data in tb, boot into recovery, select nandroid restore/backup, selecet backup, and you NEED the first 3 checked [boot, system, data]. Also if its your first, backup wimax as well, then copy it to your pc for safe keeping, in case you ever lost your wimax keys.
Figured I would ask here instead of opening a new thread...I have an evo running hboot 2.10 and 3.30 software that I would like to root. I've used unrevoked back in the day but its been so long. So I was thinking about upgrading and using revolutionary. Is there really any difference that would want me to re learn unrevoked, or just upgrade the h boot and software and use revo? any insight would be appreciated

There is no reason to "upgrade" to revolutionary. Unrevoked is the same thing as revo. Just unrevoked doesnt work with the newer hboots. If your already s-off in bootloader there is no difference. U can use any rom regardless if u used revo or unrevoked. The whole object of rooting is to get s-off. Once you have it there is nothing more you can do. Ive used both on unrevoked on my original evo. And revo on my newer refurb. There basically the same. Easy auto root pretty much.

My phone was just downloading a file and now it won't boot past the green HTC logo white screen. The last rom I was using was one of mikroms. I have tried to restore from a backup as well as flashing a new from via recovery. I get an error during installing boot.img- I even get errors when recovery boots up. I posted images of my hbootand recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use a newer recovery. I recommend 4EXT recovery touch. Also, you're probably gonna have to flash a new ROM. You also don't need to manually flash the boot.IMG since you're s-off.

I already tried installing a new from, what I was saying is that error about installing boot.img happened when it was trying to install the from via recovery. For right now I'm just trying to get the phone to boot up. I don't think a different recovery will make that happen

Well considering yours is super outdated, it could be. Older recoveries may not work right all the time. Thus being why they released later versions.

Are you saying to install the new recovery zip, in recovery? I didn't think you could do that, and it didn't work. I've tried flashing new radios but it gets stuck on the very last part of the update and freezes until I take the battery out.

not quite sure exactly what you mean by that...just keep waiting while it says waiting for device while in recovery? I waited about 20 minutes..then tried waiting another 30 minutes while it was saying "writing recovery" while in bootloader
So im pretty sure the device is just done for at this point. I decided to just try to flash the device back to stock with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599767.. This also just got stuck on the recovery section. Should i just give up? lol
Hey, I have a DHD, which I had rooted, and in order to get it to the stok rom, I flashed it to 2.3.3. it and unrooted it with market app(because my usb is not working, thats why I flashed to stock, so I can send it to HTC). However, I can still access bootloader with volume down + power, and I cant update my DHD, because after rebooting, the phone start in bootloader mode and doesnt update. When I choose the update file in bootloader, it shows some kind of error, but I dont think thats a problem with the update file, but with the bootloader not able to install that file.
Do you have any solutions on how I could update it, or hide the bootloader?
Thanks a lot

How do you charge your phone?
And if you flash stock rom trough recovery, bootloader will still be accessible and you will still have 4ext as recovery. I read somewhere that you could get the stock Android recovery from a RUU.EXE

I was given this phone because because it is stuck in the bootloop. Phones come with their own recovery, this isn't a custom recovery. I have tried to run ruus, the error I get is Main version is older. I have also downloaded official stock roms with no luck.
When I hit recovery, the phone reboots back to the bootloader, the recovery never comes up.

it was devunlocked then relocked i believe, from the error message i believe you are not flashing the right ruu, you are trying to flash an older one, you need the newest one, it was released a few months ago if i recall correctly and it was no big update but thats the one you need, search for it and try it it should work. if you are s on you cant flash a older ruu than whats already on it

Thats exactly what happened, it was given to me to me in this condition, and if I can fix it I will get paid for doing so.
Yes, I am familiar with roms, and kernels, I currently use an Evo 4g with Swagged out Stock X 2.0.9.8
Ive also rooted and flash cm7 on plenty of phones, I even have cm7 on my HP Touchpad.

Hboot 98 is compatible with revolutionary root method. I would start there, rooting and s-off with a stock rooted Rom...

Your radio is .0312, so you won't be able to flash an RUU, they're all older. Can you recognize it in fastboot mode? Try unlocking again with HTCdev, then flashing a custom recovery and ROM.

Hboot .98 isn't compatible with revolutionary, only .97 is, but that doesn't make a difference anyways because you can't run revolutionary if you can't boot the phone.

Are there any roms that you recommend that run smooth on the INC2?

I would proceed with s-off because it's so much better than htcdev unlock.
