Alright so i really need a car mount.. and i was really looking at this But i don't wont to put that disk on the back of my evo... so i was wondering if there was any type of back cover that would be really really cheap. it would go over the existing cover and would come on and off easily.
Any?
thanks.
You can find a snap-on case on handhelditems.com that might work. It was used in a custom car mount on an earlier thread.
That's what ill be doing as well.
Now to find a cheap but durable hard case. Preferably one that can hold an evo with a silicone skin.
As if id be that lucky
This is what i did.
Bought This car mount
Used "WOOT"(without ") to get 20$ off.
Shipping Cost: $5.00
Grand Total: $9.99
then i bought This cover to put the disk on
used "30htcoff" to get 30% off HTC Accessories
Total : US $7.04
grand total for a car mount...
17.03$

I know i'm kind of late now, but this case is actually a decent inexpensive case to protect the back and corners (slightly) of the EVO while adding virtually NO BULK.
on Ebay: RUBBERIZED HARD CASE BLACK FOR SPRINT HTC EVO 4G sold by wirelessflavor (i tried to post the link, but since i'm new to this site, the mods have to approve me first)
Since i kept it, i may use it for a similar attachment as you have planned.

it's meant for HD2, but I bought it to see if it will fit. it's $3.10 with free shipping, how can I resist?
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.40122 if anyone is interested.
I'll update with pics once I get it.
i ordered microhdmi cables from them ~1 month ago and finally got last week. haha. I bought two but they sent three. And they work well. go figure.
They ship this from hong kong and it can take a long time before you get it.
nice. I saw it too, but saw that the amzer cables are cheaper and longer as well. also, sorry, I just noticed that there was an accessories forum.
got the pouch and tried it today. it's a little snug since it's meant for the HD2, but it fits well. the quality is great; nothing spectacular but not crappy either. to my great surprise, it has an HTC logo on the front of it which is great. here are some pics I took with my phone. note: my phone is in upside down.
no comments? =(
my body glove leather pouch cost me literally a buck when I went into radioshack to get my evo ;p
any pictures or a link?

its a generic universal smartphone leather pouch with belt clip nothing fancy let me boot back into fresh so i can take pics, im using bakedpastaries right now, front cam is not ideal for picture takin ;p
here ya go http://wasd321.imgur.com/evo
$50 Radioshack giftcard towards my evo also included $25 off any accessories, so naturally RS's overpriced generic body gloves were conveniently priced at $25 so I ended up paying for tax only.
Hey guys,
I got the tab at i/o and I've been waiting for months to get some accessories. Now it's finally available in Canada and I still can't seem to find any. The source has the book cover case for $65 but that's it. Does samsung sell them? I can't find any way to buy them from their site.
Maybe if best buy ever gets this thing in stock, they'll carry some accessories..
Thanks,
Sam
I haven't been able to find any either. I'm thinking I will prob buy online.
I haven't been able to find any accessories in Canada either. I ended up getting one of those slim TPU cases online through eBay, and a 10" netbook sleeve makes a great carry case I found
I think ebay is your best bet. I was forced to by the book case from the Source yesterday but didn't want to wait 2 weeks for it to be shipped from the UK.
I also bought the Samsung case from the source yesterday. At first I hesitated because it was so expenice, $73 with tax. But I'm glad I got it, as I really like the case. It was the thinnest case I've ever owned, after using many for my ipad.
The material also seems very durable, and does NOT show any finger grease! So no cleaning is required. Also I love the "4 clip at the corners" design. It doesn't cover any basel and I can clip my GT "upside down", which I am currently doing to also better access to the buttons. (I will never use the rear camera so don't care that its covered).
expansys.ca
Has all you need. Cables, adaptors, docks and cases.
also, the source has the book case for $54 right now, i bought it. So thin and light it barely adds to the tablet.

How? I just bought mine, and it was $65 + tax from the Source store. This is the price they have online too.

Nooo, don't order from expansys! They list items in stock and once you proceed through their checkout the item then shows out of stock. Google their reviews and judge for yourself. I was going to buy my tablet from them. Their website said IN STOCK (more than 100) and as soon as I placed my order it showed out of stock. I cancelled my order then.

The samsung case is nice, but sometimes you need to clip it in upside down if you want to use the low angle position (where the flap fits in that groove). Quite a few apps that require landscape mode will not run upside down - so if you don't flip the tablet, your view is upside down. Using the camera is also a HUGE pain with this case. Really, this should be priced at $30, not at an overpriced $65. I still like the case and it's thinness is very nice.
I really want the usb connection kit now...

I hate the source. How can they not automatically adjust the price when the sale is not their own flyer!!! To make it worse, I realized that the sale is not for all stores. Depending on which store your select when you lookup the online flyer, that last page of the flyer may or may not have the $10 off section. Wired, huh?
Luckily, the store where I bought it from did have the sale. I did have to drive back there, and get them to look up their own flyer to give me the $10 refund. The saleperson had no idea what's going on. I wouldn't say she was particularly nice during the process.
The only other store in town that still have stock for the book case was NOT part of the sale. If I pick their store when looking up the online flyer, that bottom section disappeared from the flyer on p. 18.
Once again, I hate the source. Stupidest way of handling their own sale. The whole process felt like I'm getting their to price match a competitor's flyer.
I just sold my HTC EVO 4G for almost $200 dollars (launch day phone) on eBay!
Going to use some of that money to buy some accessories. I've already ordered 3 spare batteries and a wall charger.
I'm looking for a good style'ish case. I'm thinking the Case-Mate barely there aluminum case. How easy do these come on and off if I want to swap batteries OR use it with the Samsung factory card dock?
Which brings up the car dock, how are you guys/gals who have those liking them? I miss having a Garmin GPS, thinking about buying the OEM Samsung dock. I think the screen on my Epic Touch 4G is actually bigger then my GPS anyway! Might make a good in-car GPS unit.
Anyway I mostly want to know about the Case-Mate case, thanks!
Oh, and does anyone have any GOOD pictures of the Case-Mate installed?
im also tempted to get this case, anybody have it already?
I strongly suggest the steinheil ultra crystal screen protector, the matte black tpu case (or smoke grey) and the samsung branded stand/dock that charges a spare battery (and comes with a stock samsung battery as well) for home or office use. I have seen the case mate and IMO it is bulky compared to the tpu - it also weighs more.
The Phone, with the tpu case on, still sits in the samsung home dock perfectly, so no need to take it off to rest the phone there, and if you want to charge the phone and the battery at the same time put the phone in horizontally, and plug a spare (or the stock charger) charger into the phone. Horizontally obviously so you have access to the charging port...
JC
I agree. I have a matte black (matte b/c glossy will show prints and smudges) tpu case that cost $10 incl. shipping. Easy and quick to put on/take off. Plus it won't scratch the phone since it's not hard plastic. OEM cardock is a def. recommended. Had one with my old SGS4G, super conventient especially w/ CarHome Ultra, PowerAmp, and Vlingo/Google Voice Search.**** CHEAPEST place I've found the car mount and desktop dock for $75 combined was @ this site: thecellguru.com/Phones/Samsung/Epic_4G_Touch
How multiple battery friendly is the TPU case? I have 4 batteries. I want to be able to swap them as needed.
Will the TPU case hold up to being removed and put back on a lot like the Case-Mate will? Also, what is the TPU case covered with? I have a slip on silicone case for my phone now and it SUCKS. Everything sticks to it. Lint, hair, dust, dirt, seamen, sand, you name it, it sticks! =D
I sorta liked the idea of the Case-Mate because I was hoping stuff wouldn't stick. I know nothing of the TPU case but it does look like a case Sprint stocks locally. They had this case that said TC on the back of it at a local 3rd party Sprint store.

Wish I'd seen this yesterday. I ordered the same case from Amazon for $19.95, but I still need to claim my ebates signup bonus. I'll post a review when it comes in tomorrow.
From what I've seen, this is identical to the Marware case but with fake leather on the lid instead of fabric.
Edit: and I'll never find out. Ordered with Prime early last week, and the seller hasn't shipped yet according to UPS. Cancelled my order and I'll probably buy the Marware instead.
Yeah, it looks just like my Marware case, which I love btw!

Looks like the case a coworker has on thier ipad. hopefully it works as well
I got that case a week ago for 10$ with a coupon. It is disappointing and is not worth over 10$. Back case is molded plastic, front is thin and not too durable felt/leather(?) sandwich that folds back and sort of creates a stand. Bump it and it will fall. Very cheap quality.
the Marware case has no problem sticking to skins that i got from ebay also.. i bought 2 and put one of them around the glass but the other two are on the front and back of the case.. no problem sticking and looks cool... of course you have to take a razor and cut the seam out..
I have this case and so far I love it. Like many people have mentioned it's not the highest quality material but it gives great protection, is functional (love the stand), and looks pretty good. Not only that but it's half the price of the marware one! Would definitely recommend this.
After two orders, finally got one. If your primary use for the KF is to stand in landscape or lie flat on a desk, it's pretty good. The inner felt lining is a nice touch and the backshell fits great and feels solid.
If you do anything at all else with your KF, buy the Marware instead. Even if it's currently $20 more. The big difference between the two is that the Acase's lid doesn't fold all the way back, so you can't one-hand it anymore without the lid flapping around to the left. For my purposes, it's crap. Return'd.
Great deal!
From what I've read the Marware case can be laid down completely flat whereas the Acase has issues with that. They are both designed the same but I guess you get what you pay for. I have the Marware case because it was included in my gift. I'm glad I didn't get the Acase for myself though. That tiny issue would've drove my insane lol.
How does everyone like this case?
The plastic part holds the kindle very well. The flap however, leaves much to be desired. It doesn't close all the way, and doesn't fold behind the kindle properly. There's not enough fabric on the "hinge" so it won't fit flush.
It drives me crazy, and I hate it =P
I ordered both this case and the marware case. I will take pics of both and let you guys know the differences.

Seems to get really good reviews on amazon, but wondering if anyone here has it, or would recommend anything else? Its been years since i've had a car mount because they always rattle and fall off. I live in texas usa and summer temps get up to 110F, 140F+ inside the car so im looking for something very durable.
Looks good.
I purchased the cheap $10 one off ebay and it works well...on windshield.
I think its hard to get these to grip on leather/synthetics with any decent strength.
PS eBay one broke when I threw my bag on it. It broke the 4-pronged plastic bits.

Yeah monoprice has some super cheap ones ($3.57) too that get an 85% positive review:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10840&cs_id=1084001&p_id=5272&seq=1&format=2
The reason I hesitate is because I wont something that will stay on in the heat. I'm not really sure any suction cup type device will do that.
Well I wound up going with the tetrix FIX for $16.73 from amazon. Hopefully it is strong enough to hold all 7oz (with tpu case) of my galaxy note. It should hold, I found a guy who used a droid bionic (6oz with case) and said it held just fine. I'll post a review when I get it and its installed.

I threw the extra bucks at the oem one. I could not be happier. Beats my in car gps to death.
