won't know if it's interchangeable untill the evo is released, but this looks like what an extended battery might look like
the one listed is 2300mAh
EDIT: better image

holy crap, looks like the phone is pregnant.
You realize of course that the cover provided with this battery is quite different than that required by the EVO right? I for one don't plane on duct taping a battery into my phone until the official cover comes out. Better to WAIT.

of course... said it is what it might look like, our batteries look like they are bigger physically than the hd2's
holy crap that battery looks horrible, like it's got a diaper that needs to be changed

I'd tend to agree - they look longer, and they also look like they mount in a different direction in the case. I have a feeling battery cases will be all the rage. Maybe Mophie already has one coming (as they make for the iPhone). I sent them an e-mail...We'll see what they say if anything.
extended batteries for the cdma hero will work....well should work.
Just so everyone knows the battery from the HD2 is a 1230mah and the standard one in the evo is 1500mah. So you will have to find an extended battery that works with the Hero or the TP2. Even then the battery covers will not be the same. I'd just wait.

Lol pure quality. Isn't the original battery rated at like 4200 mah? Maybe I'm comparing the wrong specs but those say 1200 mah. I'm going off what my battery pro widget tells me, it could be cracked out.
Nvm lol I was looking at the wrong stat.

Well, it's going to be hard to find a perfect replacement battery, since I kind of like the all-yellow inside of the Aria, but it's probably really expensive from HTC or AT&T. Well, at least the phone is new so I won't have to worry about it for a long time.
@tiga,
check out if there are any replacements for the hd mini, i'm almost positive the aria is a droided mini, the batteries should be the same and they are yellow too!!!!!
Since the Aria and the HD Mini are almost identical, are the accessories the same. I think most of the cases should work. Are the batteries same?
+1. Also interested. Cannot tell from pictures.
I am VERY interested if this will work http://www.amzer.com/Amzer-3500-mAh-Battery-Backup-Solar-Charger-P83981.htm!
I am going to try to find an HD mini forum.
EDIT This is not goes on the back of aria, it is just stand alone charger. bummer.
EDIT There is not much posts in HD mini fourm.
On the HTC wiki, it shows the accessories for the hd mini are also compatible with the aria. Cases and batteries.

From the research that i have done they are exactly the same phone.
I ordered a replacement battery cover and battery from ebay, will report back when they arrive.
I bought a HD Mini battery from ebay. It is the same exact battery as the Aria. While I am sure it is counterfeit, it has a yellow HTC covering. It works fine so far, but I haven't timed it against the genuine original battery yet.
What's the miliamp per hr? Aria's is 1200. 1500 is ideal and standard on the higher end smartphones with 1Ghz processors to get a full day use out of a charge.
The yellow ones on ebay are 1200 mah, they have 1300mah but they look VERY cheap.
It is listed at 1200mAh--indeed, it is identical in appearance to the genuine HTC Aria battery, except the color is slightly darker--but, I would take those claimed numbers with a grain of salt.
That said, it has lasted all day today and I have 62% left, so it doesn't look bad.
can anyone confirm that the hd mini cases fit the aria?
Yes, I can confirm this too. I got a cheap silicone case for the HD mini off ebay and it fits just fine.

What about this 1500 battery? Anyone know if it will fit, or the reliability of this one?

So, what was the result of this test? Does this battery really works with Aria?
P.S. Found answer in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780682
The docks, batteries and Cases, even the battery cover for the HD mini are all compatible with the Aria.
I thought this was a known fact. I have all of these - batter cover, batteries, and many cases that are actually for the HD Mini. My favorite transparent TPU case is actually for an HD Mini. It's the same fricken phone. LOL.

Yes, the HD mini battery does work, but I'm not sure that I actually get more battery life out it.
Thanks, Guys...
Thanks for this info, guys--you can bet I've been wasting hours trying to find this stuff out...to me, the Aria will go down in history like the Commodore Amiga--just a uniquely great product, but plagued by some bad timing (how many iPhone releases?), etc.
The comparison, to me, though, ends when I realize how much more poorly the Aria was supported than the Amiga (or add your favorite 'left behind' computer here).
has anyone tried this battery? it supposed to have 1600mah?

im using 1500mah battery bought from HK seller in eBay, it's work fine.
i'm using aoonen HTC BB92100 1800mAh. I do not see much difference between stock 1200 and my new 1800.
I am thinking about getting an extended battery for my Vibrant, specifically this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/3500mAh-Battery-w-Back-Cover-Samsung-Vibrant-T959-/280576737493. Now, I was wondering if I could get feedback from owners for extended batteries:
Which one did you get?
What is the quality -- how long does it last you?
Can you provide pics of how much fatter it made your phone?
Thanks!

Just posted some pictures and impressions of my new 2800mah extended battery with rubberized case.
Thanks man! 2800 doesn't seem to make the phone too fat. Were did you get a case for that?!

Oh you mean back cover. I thought you meant a case, like a TPU case.
Extended battery with Clear Protector for entire phone
Use this and your battery life more than doubles. It is very comfortable, rubberized coating, and the battery rocks. The door is quite thin considering and fits comfortably in the hand. They are also going to make custom clear protectors for the entire phone and have them up for sale within 2 weeks.

The Mugen batteries. I have the 3200mAh and really like it. There are many places from which to order it, but I can personally vouch for the great customer service of http://mugenpoweronline.com/

Reputable battery vs cheap knock-off manufactured with who knows what QA--if any. I avoid the dirt cheap batteries and chargers. Maybe I am just a snob tho

Yes. About 3.5 times the cost of a typical OEM 1500mAh battery but it's not like there is much competition at size. If they produced them on a scale closer to Samsung's own, they'd possibly be cheaper.
I've also seen the cheap non OEM batteries not even charge all the way up to their advertised capacity and then their efficiency is also worse than the OEM battery. I've also seen many Vibrants busted by using cheap batteries. They've overheated, exploded or caused component failures before exploding.
At least OEM batteries perform as expected for the most part. Anyone done any or seen any performance tests done on these Mugen batteries? I'd expect them to at least perform as advertised given the price. I might actually consider getting one of these even though it costs more than what I paid for the phone itself! LOL
If you don't buy direct, you can find the Mugen one online for less than $100.

Just an update with my Cheap Knockoff battery LOL. Its been running great with no leaks, no overheating or anything. its the 2800mah extended battery. Ive been getting 2+days with the battery. Thats with 3g on always, screen at brightest level and streaming slacker/pandora a couple hours a day. Please dont be scared to order one of the cheap batteries, they actually do work. Im just a cheapo that perfers grocery store brands vs the Big Name brands.

Can you please post some pics of your phone with new back plate on? Maybe next to a pencil or another common object for comparison?
Thank you.
I would like to see something better comparison wise than a lighter, I really want to be able to keep on 3g all day and get most of a days charge.. I have to keep off 3g, bluetooth, gps all the time to get 17+ hours out of my phone.. and heaven forbid I use google maps or something.
Don't get me wrong, my phone is awesome, I am used to having to keep things like 3g off to have enough battery, but it would be nice to be able to USE the phone without fear of it dying too early..
Hey all,
I'm thinking of using my upgrade with Verizon to get a Dinc2 because I need a work phone. I have several spare batteries and chargers for my Einc. Will they work with Dinc2? I'm guessing the chargers will but not the batteries.
Thanks

The charger is the same, batteries are a little different. I had a bunch of batteries from my TP2 and DInc, which are the same, so I modified them to fit. It's real easy, the DI2 has different tabs on the contact end of the battery than the DInc does. I just cut them off of the DInc batteries. All is good.
So in short they are the same, they just changed the small tabs on the corners so you would have to buy all new batteries. When you cut them off it slides right in.

That is a good bit of info. Especially since I have 4 or 5 batteries. Thanks!
PS- Maybe if you have the time and inlination you can post a photo of a midded battery.
You can see the corners are cut off. No need to go deep, just as far as the indentation that is already there.
Yeah, the chargers should all still work. God bless whoever got the ball rolling on the standardization of micro-usb (except for apple of course).
