HTC desire Update???? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had been hoping to wake up to see the 2.2 update but
This morning i only just received the 1.21.405.2 is this right????
Where is 2.2??????

2.2 was only released to developers yesterday, how quick do you think HTC will release their SenseUI version..
Give it another month or two. Unless you want to root and flash an unofficial build.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

UK T mobile users haven't even received the 1.21 update yet
So by this it looks like we will be the last to get froyo when it comes out

So how come I am on T-Mobile UK and I have got 1.21?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

The ppl on ere that thinks froyo is comming in the nxt few weeks are gunna be sadly disapointed, comming from the hero, i know how slow htc can be, my guess would be froyo in late september for the desire

this is not good for me then as i need more space for apps/games..
so i guess its time to root

I got my 1.21 update a couple of weeks ago (when I still had the stock ROM installed, now I'm running DeFroST ).
Try going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates to see if that initiates anything.

its gonna take a lil longer lol, it just went to developers

[Q] UK Update Removed Market?

I've had three separate reports that a recent update has removed the Market from Desire owners phones.
I'm trying to find out what's going on... but at the same time wondering if anyone knows a way to put it back!
Anyone else?
Any ideas to replace it?
What update and what network?
Sent from my Amiga 500 using Workbench
Sorry, should have said.
Two Three users and one O2 that I know of so far, all receiving the 2.2 update and losing the Market.
(w00p @ Amiga 500's! I think we still have two in the house!)
This also happened to me on Vodafone. I had to restore to factory defaults, then update loaded automatically and all was ok. Only had phone a couple of days so not a problem for me.

Phone rebooting and switching off with sense roms?

Hello,
I usually switch between Leedroid and AuraxTSense roms and they have been quite stable until the last few roms i have tried.....
Recently when i am listening to MP3s the phone either reboots or freezes and for the last two days using AuraxTSense rom my phone has switched itself off through the night and i need to remove the battery to start up....sometimes it will reboot while sitting there.
I also have a MIUI rom which i have been using and it works great with none of these problems.
Anybody got any idea to what is happening?
Cheers.
It's a problem with all desires. Look at the general section. They all start rebooting eventually due to a faulty motherboard. You need to send it to HTC for repair.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I didn't know that.
So i will need to unroot and will probably be sent back one of the newer phones without the Amoled screen?
I have UK T-Mobile contract....can anyone point me to where i can unroot my phone please?
Appreciate it.
Thanks for the reply
If you look on the den sections there is a list of ruus run the t mobile one with HTC sync installed. Should unroot. Call HTC they dont replace the phone only the motherboard.

[Q] Cannot connect Desire bluetooth to in car system

I have a 3 yr old Ford Mondeo and cannot get my HTC Desire to connect to the built in phone system. All the other phones I had (last one being a Wildfire) connected with no trouble. The phone has it's moments when it decides to connect but these are very few and far between. Has anybody else had this problem?
Yes
I had the same problem when I first got my Desire. It was running 2.1 Stock firmware. (Virgin). I upgraded to 2.2 Froyo and the problem stopped.
Hope this helps.
Can you tell me how to do this please as I am unsure
same problem i have on my pioneer radio with bluetooth nokia was working fine but htc no i have froyo 2.2
you can try to go to settings>about phone>software updates
or maybe some custome rom?im gonna try to put custom rom with 2.3 and see if any changes.
Following on with this thread, I have been told by Carphone warehouse that this is a response to the Bluetooth hacking that took place recently. Apparently all Android phones will not Auto Link with bluetooth dvices. Has anybody heard the same?
I seriously doubt it. Think they're bullshitting you. What is you're firmware version?

7740 and IS HTC Update pushed to 7 Pro

I woke up this morning to an alert on my HTC 7 Pro that I had a software update available - "hooray", I thought, expecting just to get 7740.
To my surprise I was also pushed the HTC Update with Internet Sharing enabled, so my 7 Pro is now fully 'mangoed'. Don't know if any of you guys have had this too?
Annoyingly, though, HTC didn't think to fix the MAC address issue (changes every time you reboot), so my phone can /be/ a wireless hotspot, but can't /connect/ to my wifi network. Damn
I got this update today too for my 7 pro. I thought it was weird since I'm on DFT v2 I didn't think we got updates.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using Tapatalk
i guess it depends on your carrier and where you are located
maybe origin of phone plays a part too
i'm in singapore, where the 7 pro is not available, but i still got it
if it matters, my 7 pro is a unbranded set from the uk
Only IS for HD7 7720 not getting 7740 yet.
And nothing for me on the trophy yet -.-

Well so far I only know of Mozart, HD7 and 7 Pro geting updates so I'm sure you will get it eventually if your carrier supports it, it's just a matter of time.
Incidentally, I've very please that the update isn't carrier dependent, as this means for sure that they can't detect you using it if you're on an unbranded device
I got the 7740.16 update yesterday but if it is supposed to enable IS,, I'll be damned if I can find it...
Did it just show up in the program list for the rest of you? Is there something that needs to be changed?
Thanks,,

Internet Sharing is located in Settings, between Bluetooth and Email+Accounts
At least it is on my HTC 7 Pro, updated to 7740 (which if you look carefully includes the HTC update at the bottom) yesterday.
If you install a later update, all earlier updates are installed also. It looks to me like the HTC Update was activated slightly before 7740, so is getting packaged in at the same time.

Hi andrew
can you run WP7 Update Cab Sender to read the update log and share url of the HTC Update.
Can we force update like 7720? and how it's done.
I updated my unbranded hd7 to 7740 but still didn't have the IS. sucks!

Next OTA

Keep checking the following link for future updates...

Its weird that the info only shows on a sub domain and not www.htc.com?
Also looks like the info was put on there before the 1.29 OTA was released ^_^ not 100% sure as i have not long found it..
excellent thanks a lot we finally have a changelog

Awesome, i guess i won't have to skim through every thread now just to check if there's anything out yet
thanks!
As most of Europe already havve this update is it fair to say the UK will not get it
Sent from the Beast that is the HTC One X in white......
Unless some admin at HTC did not do their job correctly causing the update to fail to become available for the UK I must say, I am starting to think the same...1.28 never took this long & doubt they only have one or two servers dishing out the update...the wifi is the only issue I have & would like to see if this fixes it! I might actually never buy HTC again if I don't get any joy.
*UPDATE: Just called HTC & they confirmed that the update (1.29) is scheduled for the UK but their "server" is on automatic rotation so they can't confirmed when I will get it - either way they asked me to dial in *#*#CHECKIN#*#* which forces your phone to check in with the update server and queue in for the update itself. It's been 10-15 mins and got nothing yet but if it comes in anytime today then this feature might be worth trying - will keep this post updated if I get an update before end of today.
Better get this update.. no reasons for us not.to get it in the UK!

Phone feels a LOT better since the RUU, but I never used it on 1.26 as I flashed the 1.28 RUU before I even booted the phone the first time!

You type in the numbers, so:
*#*#CHECKIN#*#*
will be typed as:
*#*#2432546#*#*
If you do it right, the keypad will vanish after the last * and "checkin succeeded" will appear on your status bar.
PS Are you any relation to Simon and if so, can I have Cheryl Cole's number please?

Thanks, got the notification, I'm in South Africa.
I think our service providers need to verify it or test it or something prior to us getting it so I think we'll be in for a long wait still...
Hopefully it fixes the wifi bug, I have 5 days to return the phone for one that will connect to WPA enabled wifi, maybe I should just do it?
Ah it worked.
Just hoping the final goal is achieved...
The thing that i don't understand is, I got this update the day that i bought my HOX, a little bit over 2 weeks ago!
Which is as you can guess before 1 May 2012.... which makes me think that am I going to get another update or that was it?
Cuz if this is the power management update i can tell you guys that it sucks big time, since i cannot get more than 2+ hours screen on time, no matter what i do!!! Never got even close to 3 hours.
For the flickering: it's almost not visible, only if i use it with full brightness in dark places you can see it apart from that my phone was perfect in every way from day one and it still is.
My only problem is battery...

yeah i know i got it and that's the problem.... cuz i got it 2 weeks ago and here the roll out date is 1st May!
anyways I'll wait for the future updates for some improvements in the battery life.
Don't get me wrong, i ain't complaining cuz by my standards the instant OTA update was waaaay too cool when i got the phone and especially after seeing/reading lots of software related issues here on XDA (which i don't have any!) Love the phone and after seeing the ugly sammy S3 i can't keep smiling every time i hold this beauty in my hands...

1st May is the start of the rollout - not that everyone will get it on that day
