some files will play others only audio!!

Most likely codec issues. There are some utilities that you can use to determine the codec name in question.
Anyone have any ideas? What are the supported video formats?
Windows Media player plays WMV format.
You'll need to put another player on your device to play AVI and so on.
Google it!!!!
Well I am trying to stream my music files at my media center pc to my Hermes with WM6.
The wma files play really well. However, the mp3 files do not play.
In the media center forum I read that mobile WMP does not play streaming mp3 but only plays wma.
I think that there must be a solution for this.
Maybe another streaming player ?
Could anyone suggest something ?
Thanks
Orb will do what you're looking for.
yes, I know that Orb does it. Also, Webguide does it.
But I don't prefer to convert to wma on PC side.
Why does not WM6 wmp support mp3 ?
Also, isn't there any mp3 steaming player for WM6/WM5 ?
Hi all,
I have a bunch of .vob file that usually play well with VLC player on my desktop, but no on the TP2. Any suggestions as to which music player (preferably free) would be able to play .vob files on TP2.
Thanks!
not sure if there are any player that can play mpeg2 coreplayer does play mpeg1 VCD file.
It appears the standard google music player won't play mp4 music files. If I rename them to .m4a, about 90% play properly, but the other 10% won't play.
Why doesn't google like the mp4 extension?
More fundamentally, any idea what the problem might be with the files that don't play? They all play with foobar2000, itunes, vlc and media player classic. Finding the original CDs and re-encoding would be a hassle and transcoding loses audio quality.
I'd rather not use other music players, as they tend to be too resource heavy or involve too many permissions.
