How would one go about changing the icon of a folder on the home screen? I've read about changing app icons but can't seem to find any pointers on changing a folder icon. And I'm more interested in changing it in root than using an app to change the home screen. And bettercut doesn't do this, I tried. Thanks.
+1 Id also like to know. I just DL allot of icons and would love to know how to apply them.
mentioned in earlier threads.... folder organizer in the market, download lite version.
folderorganizer is the truth.
i use moreicons widget as well, the tandem will completely declutter your home screens so you can fill them with other widgets.
if moreicons widget supported folderorganizer...that would be the tits.
app organizer is another option. it is about the same as folder organizer lite.
my opinoin folder organizer lite < app organizer < folder organizer(paid)

Hey all! Did some searching for a way to remove the names from the icons on the homescreens, but couldn't really find anything. I know launcher pro has a setting to remove the text but I was just wondering if there was a standalone way to do this. Any input? Muchas Gracias!

i don't think HTC Sense gives you that option.
It is an option in adw.Launcher
Yeah I figured that's still the only way. I like sense's widgets alot so its hard to switch to launcher pro or adw. Maybe someday... thanks for the reply!

Remember to add all apps as Widgets, not apps. That is the only way to remove the labels. That drove me nuts when I first tried this. Just long press | Widget | Folder Organizer Item | Apps. Then de-select the check box for labels and choose the app.
The only thing you can't remove labels from is actual 1x1 widgets (as opposed to apps) like Gmail Notifier or something like that. But most of those have their own option in settings to remove the label.

Pron on the homescreen? You are a brave man!!!!
No, but really, Launcher Pro or ADW and remove text below icons. Then use Folder Organizer and change the Icon. Folder Organizer >>>>> Bettercut.

Folder Organizer is awesome. But you don't have to have Launcher Pro or ADW. You can use Folder Organizer to remove the icons while using Sense.
add to home>widget>folder organizer item>apps>uncheck show text>click item
assumes you have already installed folder organizer
ADB launcher will give you this ability

yep, Folder Organizer FTW.
Is there an app that I can use to have folders inside launcher pro's app drawer, coz I want to group my apps and its a bit of a pain to look for it when your app list is growing on a regular basis.
I personally use folder organizer. it doesn't put folders within the app drawer but all you have to do is click on the app to access the folders. you can customize the folders and such. you can also put the folders as widgets onto your homescreen.
I am looking for the application which can list my applications into different folders, like iPhone.
Tried several applications, please help
Hi, try GO LAUNCHER , free from market.
A good alternative launcher with folder option for the apps, you can create folder like Iphone.
bye!
Theres also several folder apps in market..
Using Folder organizer my self, paid ver tho.. Free one only gives you a minute now :/
This is only on your homescreens tho..
i think go launcher will make folders in app drawer to?
Otherwise, Ex launcher categorize apps to different app drawers by choice
Thanks a lot both of you.

So im looking for a folder app with these features:
-Custom icon size/coulmns
-And so it hides apps I already put in a folder so it's easier to organize.
I tried simi folders app but didn't hide apps I already had in a folder. Go launcher does hide the apps tho but i dont like that launcher.
Any suggestions? Please?

What do you mean hide apps already in folder? When creating a different folder?

You could use Folder Organizer (the paid version). You get custom icons, but not a number of columns/rows. There is automatically a group called "Other Apps" - this groups all of the apps that aren't yet labelled. From the main screen you can go to labels > other apps, then assign labels to the apps inside the group. As the apps are labelled, the group gets smaller. There's also an option to receive a notification when a new app is installed. When you tap on the notification, it allows you to assign labels at that time. You can put folders in folders if you're super OCD like I am.
It doesn't have everything you asked for, but it's pretty awesome. There's a free version without custom icons for apps/shortcuts/bookmarks/contacts, but you still get custom icons for folders. I'd say try it out, if you want to buy the full version just export your settings from the free version & import them to the paid version.
EDIT: My spelling of labelled looks wrong, is it? "Labeled" looks even stranger though.
EDIT #2: While you can't specify columns/rows, there are multiple options for the look of the folder. You can also create a custom skin for the folder, with colors & transparency that you choose.
Ok thanks. And yes i meant when creating a new folder in don't want to see the other apps. So i dont have an app in multiple folders

Greetings!
First I had Themer. Brilliant! But then I wanted to get my Nova Launcher-functions back (e.g. transparent statusbar for facebook- and other notifications), so I had to buy Zooper Pro. Now I don't get the widgets from my favorite Themer-Theme to Zooper Pro under Nova. :/ I don't find them anywhere in the list.
1. Trying to place a widget on Homescreen --> Overview -->"Themer Everything Widget" 1x1. Nothing happens (small, invisible, empty widget).
2. Trying to place a widget on Homescreen --> Overview -->"Themer Zooper Widget" 1x1. Transparent box with "Loading ZW ...". Nothing happens then.
3. Trying to place a widget on Homescreen --> Overview -->"Zooper Widget Pro" --> any size --> touch --> "SD-Card" --> nothing there.
So how do I get single widgets from Themer to Zooper Pro?
Another issue with my Galaxy S4: When moving back from KNOX the wallpaper is enlarged. How to solve that one?
Thanks for your help! :highfive:

I think the following should work: load the theme you want to copy the widgets from in Themer. Then open a file manager of your choice and go to
Code:
/sdcard/MyColorScreen/Themer/MyThemes/<somenumber>/widgetconfigs/
. There should be multiple folder in there depending on how many zooper widgets the theme uses. Go into each folder and copy any .zw. file you find to
Code:
/sdcard/ZooperWidget/Templates/
. Now you should be able to open them via the way you described in 3.
Oh and for future reference: please post either a new thread or in the Q&A thread and not both. This makes it harder to help you if answers get spread over both threads.

I tried. And I failed. There are no .zw-files in those folders. Path is correct. It's the "Hills"-Theme (not a number as a foldername). 8 Folders (numbered from 1 to 8). In each folder there are files like e.g. sw.theme, sw.theme.human, mcs_62679 and one thumb.png. But no .zw-files. :/ Using "Root browser".

Ok, then that was a fluke of me importing a locally exported Theme. Here is another thing you could try: Load the theme in Themer, unlock the widgets, long tap on them and select configure. In the edit window that opens select the save icon in the action bar, choose a name and save. Now it should be available in the sd card category in Zooper Pro.

Nope. Already tried that. I get no files showing up in the sdcard-category. Stays empty.

I think I found out what the problem is. The widgets made with Themer are called "Everything Widgets", the other ones (I now can find them in sd card category after saving) are Zooper Widgets with far more options when editing them (grey menu). So it seems that most of the preconfigured Themer-Theme-widgets are not compatible when importing those in Zooper Widget.

Ah ok, I thought you had already made sure that you were trying to export Zooper widgets, missing the obvious solution Yes, Themer supports two widget solutions. Everything Widget is the older variant before they bought and integrated Zooper. Naturally you can only import widgets based on Zooper in Zooper Pro
Okay, this sucks. :/ Is there a way to have the statusbar transparent while using Themer? This is just one reason why I wanted to go back to Nova Launcher. The other one is that I often was thrown back to the Nova Desktop (with then corrupted UCCW-Icons) while using Themer AND closing or coming back from one app. Even if Themer is set to standard launcher.

Since this is no longer a Zooper issue and I don't really use Themer that much, you are probably better off taking this to the Themer subforum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/themer/general . The people there should be in a better position to help you then me
