No matter what rom i flash, I'm always having issues seeing paid apps on the market. Had this exact problem when I first got my Desire so I made a new gmail account.
Does anyone know what the issue is and how to resolve it?
have you tested the marked enabler ?

I've tried but it doesn't always work.
Also having the issue on 2.1 roms now

If it's the ROM, post on the ROM's thread. And how does Market Enabler not work? You do know you have to set it to emulate a SIM (with the option to emulate on boot, which can be buggy, as mentioned in the app itself) first.

I have posted in the roms thread, but i seem to be the only one with this problem.
Yeah, I've set it as TMob US. And it doesn't work because it doesn't show paid apps. No matter how many times I wipe, reflash, install ME, it won't work.

Nope, I had to make a new one when I first got my Desire because of the same problems, and I've used the new one ever since and didn't want to change to gmail as I'd always forget

The only reason I'm not using this rom is that no protected/paid apps show in the Market.
When I rolled back to a Modaco 3.0 for some reason (maybe Googles copy protection) I can not even use apps that I have paid for.
The only way I can see protected/paid apps in the Market is to change my Google account but then I would have to buy the apps again.
hope this gets sorted soon.
The Clock doesnt Work in this Version. Maybe its because I set the locate to German but no idea it just keeps crashing everytime.
I can see protected and paid apps by the looks of things.

In the BUG list it shows protected and paid apps missing from the market. BTW have you ever paid for an app? It seems that its only stopping peeps who have paid for apps.
I've paid for apps (Better keyboard and camera zoom pro), but paid apps (as well as ones I've bought before) still appear in the market

The problem is with copy protected apps. Non-CPed paid apps will show up, but apps with copy protection is hidden due to some filtering sh*t in the Market.

I think you'll find that most of the Hero developers (modaco, lox, benhaaam, tekno) are only releasing to other sites now (htcpedia, modaco, etc), what you're seeing on xda-dev is mostly second hand information, and when the information finally does get here it relies on a back link back to these forums for a download.
what if a fully working 2.1 shows up in that site which needs login? still wont u login to try it? LOL
Pretty simpel, i just won't register, i try several ROMS if i had to register for every dev that brings out a ROM (when i was on G1) i think my fingers would die of typing the same over and over If there is a fully working ROM then i will wait till someone uploads it or an other dev who doesn't upload in a registered area and maybe customize it al little
For now only 2/3 things won't work @ the ROM i'm right now, i think it will work fully in this month

just personal choice.

That is not a bug. Google is filtering the out from Custom ROMs. Read about it here:

Had exactly the same problem coming back to Modaco 3.0 Rom from Lox 2.1 Rom. I found that a reinstall of the rom and a wipe along with Market Enabler allowed me to download my paid apps once again.
EDIT: Market Enabler itself might solve the problem

Market enabler + what country do you have?
....except for Opera. Stock, xScope, Dolphin, etc all fail to load anything.
I have no idea when this started. Just flashed from CM7 #20 from #5 with a full wipe and everything to see if that fixed the problem. On the very first boot, without signing into my Google account, every website loads fine. Then I signed into my Google account through the market, downloaded Titanium Backup, and tried the same website again, which didn't work. 3G is still connected, it's just not downloading anything. Every other app that uses 3G works fine. I'm pretty sure Titanium Backup isn't the problem meaning something is wrong with my Google account?

I believe there is a newer version of CM than #20. Have you tried that?
Also did you check if anyone else is having a similar issue with this rom in the rom forum?
Are you experiencing the same problems with wifi?
What kernel are you using?
What screen version phone do you have?
Have you experienced any other issues with your phone?
Have you seen this problem before with other roms?
You said ...except for Opera. Stock, xScope, Dolphin, etc what does this mean? Everything else works ok except the browsers you specified? If so, what works then?
Help would be on the way once more information is provided for troubleshooting. The more information you provide the better someone can jump in with a possible solution and brainstorming Cheers.
Did you restore anything from TiB? Should only do App Only, never System Data if that's the case.

Running #22 right now but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Even on the very first boot the browser doesn't load any pages. Same problem with wifi. Using Chad's 4.1 kernel. AMOLED screen. Didn't notice this problem until maybe a week ago when I as on #5. For some reason, the market started force closing on me too this morning even after a new wipe/ROM, probably has something to do with the new Android web store or something.

Everything works fine on the latest Evervolv. Guess it's a CM7 thing. Anyone know what exactly is wrong though?
Could've been your host file blocking (or at least attempting to block) ads. That was my problem before. I deleted it and poof, everything was fine lol.

I also had a problem where the stock browser would stop downloading web pages on CM 6.1, I was on the last nightly version whatever that was. I downloaded the newest flashplayer 10 from the market and that fixed it.
Cache?
Assuming you tried clearing browser cache and any/all cookies, etc?

I've loved the themes that I've seen for the gmail app, but unfortunately, I have non-gmail accounts and so must use the seldom-themed, standard Mail app. Any chance somebody could do one of those black/cyan themes for me? It would be GREATLY appreciated.

Try this. Original inversion credit goes to travp624 over at rootzwiki, and the icons are mine. I use corporate email exclusively too, and run AOKP 4.0.3- it works great.
How did you install it? I threw it in /system/app (there wasn't already an email.apk) and now I keep getting an error when the phone is on that "Email has stopped"

Aha. You must be running a different rom that still has the other email apk. (called googlemail.apk or something like that.) This is only for 4.0.3 roms like aokp or similar. sorry about that. Just delete mine and push a copy of your old one back. If you don't have a backup, just pull one out of the rom you use and push it.
Yes and no. I'm using the Apex ROM on 4.0.3. Any way around this?

Honestly I'm not familiar with Apex. The OP on rootz said it was compatible with "most" 4.0.3 roms. If it's extremely important to use exchange email, AOKP is an amazing rom and the file i sent works great.

Alright, I'm still kind of new at this. Can I flash the AOKP ROM without having to re-enter all of my user data and app settings? That would be a major PITA right now.
Would Titanium Backup back up as much as I would need to? Would a Nandroid backup?
Nevermind, I ended up just going back to factory and then flashing AOKP. Loving it so far, though!

Often Android market compatibility issues arise from changes made to the LCD-density property in the build.prop file.
If you've got root access, you can google your device and 'build.prop' to find the standard. You can use ES File Explorer (or a range of others) to change the property. Then if you change it back, it should work again. That's if it's a market compatibility issue.
I've got an SGS2, and when I installed earlier ICS ROMs they also had problems with Words with Friends. It would install properly, but then freeze or crash...leading to the acore process ending.
If it's a custom ROM, try posting in the forum where you DL'ed it. Either the dev will already know about it, or he won't. In either case, he should be able to tell you if there's a fix, if there's a fix-work-in-progress, if it's a samsung problem, or if you're just SOL.
If it's a stock ICS from Sammy...well, you might just be out of luck.
Like the gentleman said above. It's probably due to changing your resolution. Fortunately, I had the same problem and did a lot of research and found a fix. There's 2 ways to fix it.
1. Set it back to the default resolution, then reboot and clear the market's memory.
2. Pay for LCD Density Modder Pro (3 bucks) on android market. It can fix it so the resolution doesn't screw up the market any more. This is the route I took and it worked great.

All LDMP does is have you download and install a modded market, right?
(Not knocking the app, just asking)
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
sideload the apk??
or another trick ive read recently is to use the browser and find the app on the web market, click install, select the browser on the pop-up, sign into your account, select browser again on pop-up, click the back button once and that time select market not browser....hope u can follow all that and that it works??
question: version 2.0 of what??
The ROM.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Is there a download link? the one on the actual post says it isn't working. Also, am I suppose to install 2.0 then install the latest version right?
Not to jump in on the MIUI questions, but I have one as well...
I rely a lot on Go SMS because of its individual notification settings for different contacts. In the previous version of this rom, though, the stock messaging app was overriding Go SMS's settings no matter if it was selected as the default messaging app. Anybody else have this problem and can offer a solution?

I haven't tried it with GO SMS, but to get TabletTalk to work I had to disable MMS Priority in the MIUI messaging settings. If you haven't tried that already, I suggest trying that.
I know it's not a definite fix, but I figured an idea is better than nothing

I tried this ROM out today as well and did not flash to 2.0 first.
I only made sure to factory rest/wipe cache/dalvik and then format system, data, cache and sdcard.
After that, I flashed from external sdcard the latest version of the ROM and had no issues (aside from the usual needing to reboot the phone once to restore data connectivity).
I hope this helps :fingers-crossed:
Might as well ask another general MIUI question....lol.
Most other ROM's handle Google Voice integration pretty well. For example, when I place a phone call, my call log shows the person's actual number, not the random number Google used to make the integration work.
With MIUI, though, my call log shows that random number instead. Anybody happen to know why that's to case, and if there's a way around it?
Thanks!
