I've rooted my Evo and it runs great. The only issue I've noticed is better keyboard. I'd type and randomly the keyboard randomly hides. If I were to bring the Better Keyboard up, I can type in landscape but I don't see the words. I have to either type in portrait, or switch to another keyboard and back to BK. It only happens in landscape although the disappearing keyboard happens both ways.
Anyone else have similar issues?

I went to my local AT&T corporate retail store to try the Tilt 2 again because the first device I tried at another store seemed slow and not responsive. I had a similar experience this time around too. But I have to believe that most of that can be chalked up to the fact that it has the stock ROM on it and also every noob in the world has messed with it inside the store. But it did leave me with a few questions.
I could not get the screen to go landscape unless I flipped out the keyboard. And when I pushed the keyboard back in it would go back to portrait even though I was still holding it landscape. Is this a setting somewhere? I thought the Tilt 2 had a true accelorometer.
When in the browser I would touch in the URL line and start typing out a www address. But every time i would get a few letters into it and another text field would open at the bottom and start intercepting my typing. Anyone know what that is?
While the Tilt2 is equipped with an accelerometer, TouchFLO itself is not designed to re-orient itself in landscape using just the accelerometer.
That being said, some applications do go into landscape mode when you turn it with the keyboard closed. The Windows Mobile SMS application, some versions of Opera, and other various apps. Otherwise, to "force" landscape the keyboard needs to be open (or use some 3rd-party app/tweak).
Also, out-of-the-box, the stock ROM is actually pretty responsive and fast. Its one of AT&T/HTC's better built stock ROMs out there. Of course there is always room for improvement. I suspect the slow/unresponsiveness is due to the fact that its a demo unit thats already been messed with.
As for the additional text field in the browser, I have no idea what that is. Only thing that pops up normally during normal browser usage is auto-complete that makes URL suggestions.

You can use G-Config (available here on xda) to add programs (including TF3D and the Start menu) to the sensor database. Works great!
I have mapped one of the hardware buttons (long press on the answer key) to rotate the screen. Find it better than auto rotate depending on the orientation.
Some Desire user may have issues that sometime the pinch is not working, either home screen pinch or browser pinch to zoom.
I guess most of the people here knows that is due to switching of input method.
Not a very big issue but still quite annoying..
Just did some testing on my desire...
I realized that if I switch the input method while the keyboard is visible, the pinch feature may stop working(most of times it dies).
But if I switch the input method while the keyboard is off, means long press the input box w/o open up the keyboard, and switch the input method, the pinch will always working w/o any issues.
Tried few times on my desire by toggling between HTC chinese keyboard and swype, and type something, the pinch feature still working perfectly
Not sure does this works on everybody's device, do let me know if this solved your issue.
Thank you. This has solved the problem for me.
Previously after switching between Swype and the stock keyboard I would have to reboot in order to get pinch and zoom working again. Using your method keeps it working.
Anyone here using scummVm on the tilt2 or tp2? My problem is that I cannot figure out how to get the screen orientation to work properly when the keyboard is open. What I mean is, anywhere I click, the cursor shows up at the mirror location on the device if the keyboard is not closed. It doesn't matter If I have the screen orientation lefthanded (default on this device) or flipped so it is right-side up with the keyboard open. Very frustrating. This isn't too much of a problem for point-n-click, but I would like to map keys, and opening the keyboard inverts all click points on the screen so the game becomes unplayable.
Currently the only workaround I can find is to have the keyboard open before starting scummvm (which is contrary to the tutorial). Closing it and opening it during gameplay brings back the original issue. I'd really like to find a way to open and close the keyboard without having issues. I'm hoping someone else with a tp2 has encountered this issue and knows how to deal with it!
HI all,
I'm so confused about this. I know you can go to settings (both one handed operation and keyboard setting) and turn on/off one handed operation, but how do you toggle back and forth without going into settings?
Apparently pinch to zoom on the keyboard works for some people. It does NOT work for me.
others saying you need to hold shift, then press space then "L", again never worked once for me
I've also seen people saying use 2 fingers to slide left or right. Not working for me.
Some saying it switches on its own while typing (which annoyed them), but they are not sure how it happened.
Does anyone know? One handed is useful in some situations, but going to settings to change it just seems too hard.
Thanks,
You are not alone with this problem. I first read about the pinch toggle feature in a forum post and decided to try itiimmediately. No luck. No luck. No luck. Success. It was just as hard to toggle back to the normal keyboard. I had the most luck pinching my fingers together near or on the spacebar.
I personally use a wierd but brilliant keyboard called "messagease". I have the 4.2 android keyboard installed, SwiftKey Flow, Keymonk and Samsungs stock Swype keyboardbut I still end up using messagease for 90% of my writing.
I've been using an old Palm bluetooth keyboard with my android devices since switching from a Palm device several years ago. I just recently purchased a BT keyboard specifically designed for the Note 10.1 2014 and from first connection noticed this bar that pops up at the bottom of the screen whenever the keyboard is in use. The little button with the "^" in the corner doesn't seem to do anything. Not sure what it's for. Is this something that normally happens with BT keyboards and I haven't encountered it because I've been using an older Palm BT keyboard?
Looks like a placeholder for a nav bar, which the note don't need, or ads. Ad blockers which work with non-rooted devices produce such empty placeholders.
I'm not running any ad blocker (even though my device is rooted), but this only shows up when I first connect the BT keyboard??? Weird stuff.
Well, the black bar still persists except that I figure out a workaround to get rid of it. It's just a matter of connection order. I have to turn on the keyboard first, then turn on BT on the tablet, go to a text field and when the onscreen keyboard pops up just press the spacebar and on the external keyboard and I'm good to go -- no black bar and a completely functional external keyboard.

this didnt work, did you end up figuring oout whwat causes this? im usung a galaxy note pro 12.2
I did not figure out any other way to avoid it happening other than the work-around I mentioned. I believe it's the auto-spelling-correct or maybe the auto-complete, but don't know for sure.
I have the same problem on my note 12.2. Simple install "External Keyboard Helper" from Play Store and enable the on screen keyboard and choose "External Keyboard Helper" if you will be asked. Now your BT keyboard is a soft-Keyboard and no black bar was seen again.
