I used to have a touch diamond 2 and it was all good with the internet sharing thing.
Now i'm using a htc desire
But today after installing the lastest version of my htc sync.
I plugged my phone in and have the rest of the drivers installed
Seems like the only thing that failed was
HTC Remote NDIS based device #4.
I did a hardreset like how the htc technician advised.
but still the same.
failed!
Please advice
I don't know but wouldn't it make more sense to post this in touch diamond 2 section, instead of the desire section? Edit: my bad, hope it gets resolved soon
huh?!
But now i'm using a htc desire

Not quite, he was referring to the TD2 as his last device so he probably has a Desire now.
OP, try to get that driver installed. I'm not a fan of stock internet sharing; this doesn't really solve your problem but I'd suggest having a look at PDANet.
man i really don't get how that website can help!

android is slowly but surely being ported to htc HD. All the development for that is in the ROM section. I wouldn't expect any multi-touch features to work on the HD.
Check the Blackstone Rom forum... there is a thread on Android developement.

You should post that in the thread you got the files from and not here.

I've been using Dashwire for my HTC Touch HD for a long time. I see that there is now also an Android version (m:IQ) available in the Android market, check out the features on miqlive.com/tour

Is it possible to put a WM6.5 rom in the HTC Desire in stead of android.
It's a dutch KPN phone.
I ask it for a friend, who couldn't get a HTC HD2 anymore by contract.
So he has now the Desire but with Android while he was counting on WM6.5.
I hope there is one so he can work more suitable with the Desire.
He also want to use the phone as internet port for his laptop trough USB, but i can't find any solutions for this for him without costs.
Thanks in advance everyone.
I so want to subscribe to this thread.... I can see the answers already!
"WHY?" "Are you serious?" "Is this a joke?" PPPP
May I suggest the "search" feature?
To answer your question. NO it is not possible. Winmo is closed source and costs money per copy. So fist someone would need to ensure and/or port all drivers to work on desire and spent money on each copy installed on a phone.
TL;DR no it wont work.
-.-
Not again.

Oke, before everybody ask me if i'm crazy to go to WM6.5, the answer is NO !!
But my friend is used to WM6.5 and is an older person who is not familiar with Android and has difficulties to change every time with all this electronical stuff.
KPN did not told him about Android and when you unpack the phone and allready used him once, than you can't return it. So thats why i asked these 2 questions.
I'm sorry if i hurt someone.
Thanks allready for the replies
I dont think that he will not get used to android.... so just give him some days.
oke, we will see what happens.
Thanks all
Hey guys !
(by advance sorry for my english).
I just saw that on homepage :
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/multi-touch-support-recovery-testers-needed/
Any chance to see it on our desire one day ?
Thank you !
Hm... very interesting! However if all amoled devices are able to get either 3 or 5 point multi-touch as he says then why on earth did HTC only equip the Desire with 2 point multitouch??? It doesn't make much sense to me but nobody would be happier than me if he's right
I'm not sure, maybe HTC see things only by the commercial way. Real multi touch as a new feature to sell new devices.
Moar details there at 6th page :

seems that someone flashed his recovery and it failed

yeah it jkilled recovery for me
the post is missunderstood
its all incredible versions not "all androids"
Hi all,
in most HTC devices there is an application called FieldTest.apk, which can be launched via a combination of key (e.g. *#*#7262626#*#*).
I used it quite a lot in my Desire to understand what's going on in the radio interface.
It seems that this apk is missing in the HOX.
Has anyone managed to successfully use fieldtest.apk from other devices in the HOX?
Thanks
Can't remember what FieldTest looks like. Maybe it is something like this ?
You must have GSD.apk in your ROM, and the key is *#*#3424#*#*
Hi ckpv5.
Thank you for your answer.
Unfortunately that's not what I'm looking for.
Fieldtest tells a lot of information about radio layer, 2g/3g signaling, neighbor cells and powers, codes, spreading factors, rrc states, etc.
If you still have your Desire (i remember you from the desire section ), just give a try at the code I wrote in the op. You will see what I mean (although if I remember correctly fieldtest was also removed from the desire gingerbread release.)
When I get home I can post or link some screenshots.
Cheers,
It's very nice of you can still remember me ..
A screenshot will be nice... I want to know about this too.
Got it run on Desire, this is the one, right ? Not sure anything like this for One X.
*#*#4636#*#*
Not quite like fieldtest, but still gives you basic cell info.

Yes, exactly. That's the screen I was referring to.
Just realized that the same question arised in the AT&T version subforum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620087
Following a link there, there's an apk.
Not sure whether that would work though... Will check...
cheers
