Since I'm new to android, i've been playing with several of the roms. with anticipation of even more coming out, is there a way to batch install many apk's, or must they all be installed 1 at a time?
I use Mybackup Pro but you can use Titanium backup as well. I think the only difference is with Titanium Backup you select to install the APK's in a batch but then it displays each backup and you have to press install on each one you want installed.
My backup Pro is not like that, or so i don't believe. But i could be wrong.
If you have the free version of Titanium Backup you have to select each apk to download but if you have the donated version they are all done automatically.
just hook your phone up to your computer and use android commander, you can batch install them with that.

Donate version is well worth it. That app has payed for itself many times over.

Agreed. Pay for it, if I could only have one paid app it would be Ti Backup.

I didn't know it was a paid version. The free version is the only that shows up in my marketplace.
Do anyone have a link where I can get it and pay for it?
Titanium Backup
If I remember correctly, get free version, and its in that, preferences, or donate...gets you the license.

See i think that's the free version that you have to keep clicking install, install install.
However, I'll soon find out. I just donated the money for the paid version. Do anyone know how long it took before you received your Paid version Unlock key?

Will i get updates now?
Which version are you using?? Free or Donation?? As the free version doesnt connect them back up to the market...
BUT if your using the donation version... download something else from the market and magic... all your restored apps will magically appear!!

Last time i used Astro it didn't re-link the apps... Titanium Backup is definately worth donating for, its only like $3.99!!!!! Changing Rom's with it is amazing!!!!!
I decided to go back to stock after trying some of the custom ROMs here. I backed up all my apps using ASTRO. After flashing back to stock and rooting, I restored the apps but they are not showing up on the downloaded apps in the Market. Is there a way to fix this?
It will remember your apps from the gmail account you used when downloading them.

No, what he's saying ia that the market won't recognize that those apps are installed on the device and won't notify you of updates, etc.
If you're rooted, you can use titanium backup. Its free and it will update the market place to show the apps installed.

Thanks. The 'Market Doctor' the fix from Titanium, requires a paid version.

The donate version of Titanium Backup is easily worth 5x the cost.

I'm currently using mybackup pro to do backups and restores between rom installs. It retains market links, application databases, and other system settings. My only problem is that it is SO SLOW to backup and restore. It takes probably over and hour to backup my applications and another hour to restore them. I don't even have that many. Is there any quicker way of doing this? I'd like to be able to install a new rom sometime before the singularity.

Go to the Market and use Titanium backup. It backs up your apps over to your SD card along with app data. You can batch the backups and restores as well as schedule your backups. You can also use AppBrain. It updates which apps you download from the Market and then does a back up. But I think App brain only works with market apps. I'm not 100% on Appbrain.

The back up takes me a few minutes. 10 if I have a ton of apps. The restore is pretty annoying since you have to click install for EVERY APP YOU HAVE.

I realized this after running a backup and installing a new rom. Looks like you have to buy the pro version. I did and it restores automatically.

Is there a way to create a flashable zip to reinstall all my apps in one swoop. Currently when I restore from a titanium backup I have to press install on each app which takes quite sometime just curious if there was a quicker and more effective way to restore apps + data

The full version of titanium backup does all the installs with one click. Well worth the $6.XX.

totally worth every penny!
Also...I recommend you only restore app data....system data always seems to mess things up for me.

I thought he was talking about having to hit accept from the market for every app. Looking back though it can be for either or, but since he had backups I'd like to hope he batched them lol.
If you were talking about restoring them all (Not the install each individual from market popup) you can go to:
Backup/Restore > hit menu > Batch > Run restore all apps,

It does it either way. The only difference is if you're on the free version, you have to manually install it, it'll go app, press to install, app, press to install, until it does all of them. On the paid version, it does all of them, without you accepting each time.
Paid version of Titanium is the best money I've spent on my Evo yet (followed closely by Root Explorer). Sooooo worth it for that feature.
Well, hi everyone!
The thing is that I'd like to know if there is a way to install multiple apps in one hit (or maybe a couple) because I use Titanium back up which works grate its very useful, but when you wipe and flash and have a few apps, it gets kind of annoying that it prompt you before installing every app, at first seems like no biggie but when you do it weekly (or more) is no longer the same feeling.
And you can create that file to install Titanium Back Up from the recovery, is there a way to do that with other apps, or perhaps putting the apk files (from the TBU folder ) on a zip file, will it install the apks from CWR? Even if is just the app without the data, I could restore that with TB. I know that the files on the update.zip that TB create isn't an apk, but there's gotta be a way to do this.
Any thoughts?

The pro version of TiB doesn't prompt you for each app, it batches the whole process
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
In tibu hit your phones menu key then "batch". I think there is also a batch apk installer program for windows floating around somewhere Im sure you could find it with a search.
That's what the pro version is for. Batch restore with no clicking. That's how they get you
Its totally worth a few $ to not have to click through every restore.
Thanks will get pro then, thou still would be good to install from the CWR, you know, flash the ROM flash the apps, ready to go.
But thanks for the quick replay.

Even if you only flash a few ROMs here and there, the Pro version is easily worth the money! Just hit one button and go drink a beer while it installs lol.
