Having some annoyances with the Desire when it comes to calls:
1. When using headset (Bluetooth or otherwise) and device is in pocket - random stuff goes on there, and after the call the screen turns on. Very silly. Ideas?
2. When calling without headset, automatic screen turn-on and turn-off (based on accelerometer, if I bring it down or up vertically to my face) makes life hell. I don't like looking down at the device. I wanna turn this stupid feature off. Anyone?
Thanks!

Problem when answer a call via Bluetooth hand set!!!
When answering a phone call with a Bluetooth hand set and the device is in the case the screen remains on during the call, only if I take the device out and than back into the case the screen goes off. The light sensor turns the screen off only if it senses a light and than dark.
Is it possible to do something that when answering a phone call with Bluetooth hand set the screen will turn off (or not turns on at all) automatically to save battery power?
Thanks,
Hi,
I set the option of facedown LOUDSPEAKER ON function and tried reset several times, but this is not working. even after installing tweak software which allows FACE DOWN MUTE, it is not working.....can someone provide me a solution to it!!!!!
I Would be obliged.
REGARDS.
Did you calibrate the gsensor? It won't work for me either unless I calibrate is. And it would also help if you tell use which rom you use.
htcpedia settings tool
try this app. The settings are under phone, page 2. works for me.
did u download some tweak program? i had that happened when i messed around with HD tweaks. it knocked out my speaker and i couldnt hear anything when someone called or i dialed out. it drove me crazy till i figured out what it was. it was when i was messing with the audio, trying to make it louder thru the tweak program. hopefully u get it working soon. i do love that feature, juss put the phone face down and speaker automatically cuts on. with really great sound quality. i believe the tilt 2 has 2 mics and 2 speakers. really great for conference calling. keep us updated
I use official WinMo6.5.... the problem is....when i hold it straight bottomdown,it works and just a slight movement in the angle switches it off....
ohhhh..ok...hmmm...maybe u need to calibrate the g sensor again. it sounds like its not calibrated right. or instead of putting it face down to activate speaker, during your call, juss press the speaker button and it should go into speaker phone. i dont think the g sensor messes with it in that mode. that face down thing is linked to the sensor and thats why its being thrown off.
If i put the TP2 face down on a flat surface in active call, it turns on the loudspeaker...but as soon as i lift it up and a slight change in angle switches off the loudspeaker.....is this USUAL with every TP2 or is there problem with mine?
I think that's normal. You're supposed to leave it flat on the table; picking it up again switches off the speakerphone, that's how the feature works.
I use my phone for work and just leave it plugged in whenever on a conference call, so the screen doesn't time out (checked setting). Now I love the feature of the screen blacking out via proximity sensor whenever not using a BT, just my ear, then the screen turning back on when I move my head away.
However, whenever I'm away from the charger and on a call using my BT earpiece, the screen times out very quick. And there's no way to get the screen back on using the power button at that point, as it'll just hang up the call. My BT does not have mute functionality, and there are times when I need to click Mute or use the dial pad... and at that point, I'm SOL.
I've put a Screen On widget on my desktop and in the notification bar, but the screen times out too quickly for me to remember to tick it. And that's a pain to do anyway on every BT call when not connected to power.
Question... Is there any kind of setting that once the bluetooth option is checked in the dialer, that the screen could stay on longer? Or would this need a mod? Thanks.
Hi,
yesterday I restarted my HTC Desire GSM running CM7 and during the first call I noticed that the voice of my interlocutor was caming from behind the phone (rear speaker). I tried turning the Speaker on/off several times during the call and rebooting as well but still the call speaks out from behind.
Any clue/suggestion for me? That's pretty uncomfortable
Sounds weird, do you mean it goes into speaker mode? If you do maybe there is a problem with your accelerometer. In the Sound settings is 'Flip for speaker' on, if so try turning it off. This setting may be causing your phone to enter speaker phone even though your phone isn't flipped.
I'm not an expert but maybe this is causing the problem.
It's not exactly the "speaker" because the volume is very low, exactly like a normal call but instead it comes from the rear speaker. Moreover I can turn the speaker on, which makes the volume louder but still from behind the phone (as it should be).
However I checked the call settings and the proximity is disabled. I tried enabling/disabling a couple of times but no luck at all
Any other suggestion please? Still can't hear from the right side of my phone and rear speaker definitely s**ks
Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the screen turned off while accepting a call through Bluetooth?
In this scenario, I answer the call while working out and the screen turns on (while in pocket) and starts pushing numbers or hangs up.
Thank you
check the notification settings, set to sound only vs wake screen
