Gens,
probably somebody in the universe already did it but i was investigating about the possibility to connect an external monitor, maybe touch, for car navigation and or multimedia, or general video out purpose.
Why not starting this project sharing the experience of everybody and help me and other with this.
So let starts deciding what is required like
-Required HW like external touch monitors and connections
-Required SW as you like for audio, connections and so on
-every kind you have in mind it should be integrated in order to use our Artemis in car
Every Artemi's cooker is wellcome in order to have their support to develop a dedicated speedly ROM!

Is there any way to do a screencast on an Android device... in particular the Nexus 7? I'm trying to put together a video and I wanted a clip that showed the U.S. and it zoomed into a specific city. Problem is, on the computer Google Earth is somewhat choppy despite having nearly brand new hardware, and Google Maps just does an instant snap to that location. Google Maps on my N7 on the other hand works JUST AS I WOULD LIKE... but I'm not sure how to capture it?
Any idea?

Screencast captures your phone screen at high frame rates into a high quality MPEG4 video with audio. It can also take snapshots of your screen by holding the search key on your phone.

I want something like this, not to record a screencast, but to use as a way of having video out in lieu of not having hdmi. I have a pc hooked up to my hdmi display and was looking at the options. This app sounds like the best but doesn't work yet with tegra 2/3.
How fast is it with other devices? Like could a game be played at a smooth frame rate? Does it allow to stream live and not record a video?
Are there any other ways of doing this?
I've been searching for a while now with no luck. I record gameplay on my GNote with the afore mentioned app but seeing as the developer has all but vanished I'm guessing we won't be seeing Tetra support.
You'd almost think Nvidia would make an app to do this just so Tetra fans could make gameplay videos, thereby promoting their devices.

There are some demo videos of stuff coming... Nivdia has one showing a playbook to a TV that has the Miracast protocol
and ESR labs has the following
Hopefully soon...
Unless you already have a TV with it built in, you will need a some some sort dongle that has WiFi and s HDMI output. I just got a raspberry pi to be used with the ESR labs Android Transporter when it come available.

I just stumbled upon those videos yesterday. Very interesting stuff. I think I may grab a couple of raspberry pi's. I'm in Canada and I couldn't find it in stock right now. I wish they would build a cheap enclosure for it. I put a post on their website if they plan on making a linux client and not just for the pi. I would think it wouldn't take too much to make a generic version. I also noticed some hdmi outputs on tablets don't provide 1:1 mirroring. For ex, acer tablets cutoff the bottom menu. This I believe is for video playback, which makes sense, but I hope it's an option or in the spec of miracast to offer 1:1. I saw a TI demo of miracast as well, and they make mention of the display showing one thing and the tablet showing something different typical of normal wired hdmi outputs. Nvidia also has demo's of miracast as you linked, but I hope they make a windows client. It'll be a ways off before it's standard on TV's and it sounds like there will be dongle's available, but a lot of people have computers hooked up to their displays so it would be nice if there is a complete software solution as well.
Android Transporter for the Nexus7 and Raspberry PI
Hi all,
the video you showed in the one post is our old demo video.
Since yesterday we have a public preview. please see http://esrlabs.com/android-transporter-for-the-nexus-7-and-the-raspberry-pi/

Is it possible without rooting and without PC? :crying:
(I'm looking for the way to make video lesson (like Khan Academy's) direct on my tablet)

No, it's not possible. you need root or a pc (actually the root way to do it does not work atm)
Android 4.2 is supposed to include native support for Miracast devices. So we just need the Miracast set top boxes.
Does anyone know if Miracast carries over Audio?
I just installed Screencast on my N7 with CM10.1 grouper nightly 12182012.
When I try to screen capture video in landscape or in portrait the audio saves properly, but the video is a static hodgepodge of TWRP Touch recovery in a purplish sepiatone
yo b1LL did you bother reading Screencast app description? doesnt support Nexus 7 nor any tegra 3 based devices
Here's one
There's another thread that has one, and it works for screencasting but it really only gets 1-2 fps. So if you're desperate:

Hello all,
I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Sam Price, I am a composer seeking developers to work with on apps that require either music or sound-effects. I split life between living in central London and Bristol in the UK.
About me
I recently graduated (2012) with a Master’s Degree in Composition from Bristol University – I have written hours of original music aside from my academic portfolios. I am an expert in East Asian and Japanese folk/traditional music (4 years of ethnographic research). I have worked/performed with some of the most famous names in Drum & Bass in the UK as well as some of the most respected Classical ensembles in the Europe. I am a diploma level Pianist as well as being a Singer (concentrating on technical singing – gospel, folk and classical (to an extent)).
My Music
Most recently I have finished composing / recording a Pokémon red/blue re-score:
‘POCKET MONSTERS RE-SCORE’ – 44 tracks (plus 1 bonus track) of original music that I have written to accompany the 1998 video game.
I decided to go for a more orchestral sound – to give the soundtrack a classic yet contemporary feel. You can listen/buy the full soundtrack on my Bandcamp website if you are interested:
sjpcomposition.bandcamp.com - I recommend the Battle themes.
youtube.com/watch?v=2yoT8n-Q74Y - for a short example of the Pokémon re-score with gameplay.
I work in a variety of mediums and genre/styles: Orchestral, Piano, Acoustic, live instruments, synth/electronic instruments, Radio (music, sfx, audio production), Ballet and Opera. I can compose to suit a brief and to a deadline.
Sound Design
I like to create custom sounds using real life stimuli – edited to suit the scene; I have mostly worked on Radio projects creating complete new/unique sounds to accompany the programme. I have found it important to create a sound palate that is just as considered as the music itself, to form a unique sound for the game/app.
Rates
My rates are negotiable and I like to stay flexible – for any quotes please send a proposal and I will respond as soon as possible.
If you are interested in collaborating and you want a soundtrack that is unique, memorable and immersive please contact me on [email protected], or if you are interested in hearing more of my music please don’t hesitate to contact me.
(My website is currently in development, but on the off-chance you are looking through old posts (hello future readers) my website is sjpcomposition.com
Cheers,
Sam
I am thinking on buying this phone, I would use it as a "laptop" occasionally on holiday trips - connecting kb and mouse and external monitor. How about scaling on mirrored screen? I have tried MHL cable with my fullhd Sony Z2 with a fullhd monitor and it just mirrors the screen. It is not smart enought to get things smaller on a larger screen ie. the icons are huge on monitor, office tools and sheets are too small on mobile screen and so is on the monitor, it should instead be scaled properly. Does anyone know does ti scale properly or that is the problem with android? Look at this for example http://www.winbeta.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/HP-Elite-x3-Dock.jpg I am not MS fan or I want to buy MS phone but this scales as it should. If someone tried please do post a result.
The MHL cable won't work for the Note7, unfortunately, but I believe there are other methods for directly connecting it (DisplayLink?).
In any case, the phone won't natively scale like you want it to - but there's an app that will do that for you called Andromium OS. Download that and it should be what you're looking for.
Hello I forward my request over here, I am pleased about numerous contributions:
Hello I'm new, greet everyone, great performance to you, I have searched through, I also found rk3368 px5 pages for me, but maybe you can answer my questions better here?
See also pictures.
I would like to spruce up my new system with functions and a 360 degree view display with automatic switching. Is that possible?
I bought a system with 360 degrees, only it says that I have to connect it to the DVD input, but it is occupied by entertainment DVD players and font displays!
And if I connect it to the reverse camera, it only works with the reverse gear!
I would like to work one by one to get closer to my goal, would you help me?
