Step by step dismanteling guide, anyone? - Desire General

Hi there, anyone got a disassemble / service manual for the Desire?

The reason is i got a little piece of dust under the screen, and don't want to send it in for repair.

Someone to share Service Manual? The phone has penetrated a little water - I want to clean. Thank you.

Damaged screen

Hi,
This is my first post here so I hope it's in the correct place.
I've got a Universal with a damaged screen (I trod on it ). Does any one know if it's possible to get a replacement (in the UK if possible)? If so, could you please tell me where from. Also, has anyone out there actually changed a screen on a Universal.? It looks a bit difficult to get the screen apart: I'm not sure where to start. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Tony

Hi, I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I dropped my Qtek 9000 on the floor and the screen broke. I bought a new LCD screen on ebay and replaced the screen my self. It was not very difficult and you only have to unscrew a total of 8 screws to do the job. I used the service manual to get some guidance in how to remove the screen.
Try these guys
I've not used them but remembered seeing them being talked about elsewhere in the forum.

Changing the furniture...

Hi there,
Are there any instructions on how to change the casing on the exec model? I have just got hold of a slightly damaged one and have a replacement kit but no instructions. I could just go for it, but don't want to make any mistakes (this time!!)
Thanks guys,
Brian

Look for Service Manual and follow the instructions exactly. The biggest pitfalls are: tiny magnet next to the screen - most people forget to transfer it to the new case, which means the auto screen orientation will no longer work; when opening the screen casing itself, there is a trick to it - you must press at certain locations to make it pop open, seen too many screws and cases damaged with people trying to force their way in; the flex cable and hinge are probably the trickiest things to change over - take care not to damage anything.

I've cracked my screen

Does anyone know anywhere in london, UK to get a new screen fitted.
I dropped my htc desire hd yesterday and its cracked the screen, there is no ink on the screen and everything is working fine still, so its just the first piece of glass thats broke.
so what exactly do i need to get fixed, i see alot of people mentioning ameled or something like that, do i need to get that replaced as well, or can i just buy the glass myself and fix it myself?
i've checked a few htc repair centres online and they all want between £60 - £90 to fix it, but im sure i can do it myself with the right equipment.
For anyone that knows about this kind of process what would be best for me to get? knowing i have never done a repair myself, im not stupid and can follow instructions well but just wondered would be better for me to get???
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130599566...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1723wt_1163
this is the full thing so i'll need to just get the phone apart and then install the part.
or
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370550551200?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
which means i'll need to get deeper into the phone and remove things ect ect.
what do you think guys?
someone must know about this?
surely im not the only numpty to drop my phone
Get the one in the first link as changing the digitizer only is a REAL BALL ACHE. The replacement of the lcd and digitizer together as one part is pretty straight forward. Search "htc desire hd screen replacement" in YouTube and you'll find lots of tutorials. I suggest watching a few of them before any attempts. Good luck.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Cheers for the reply, but this morning i decided to pay to have it repaired rather than risk messing it all up myself, i found a htc repair centre that will fix it and return it for £44.99p
so im over the moon with that price, i thought i'd need to pay around the £80-£90.
so anyone else that has a cracked screen, i suggest calling these guys, their very helpful over the phone.
I cant review how good their service is as i have yet to send them the phone,
but so far, so good.

Hey GUYS...
I had given my sgs2 for repair before week ago in street shop (Naif Rd)...
That guy instead of repairing my usb port, He made software update...
To my misfortunate, he had pulled the volume ribbon from flex..
I had taken the phone from him since he charged for the software update...
There no proper workshop in the dubai for mobile repair so i had decide to do on my own...
1. Going to buy gun solder tool
2. Volume Home ribbon flex
Now what else i need solder paste or some kind of spray or something.... Please do suggest me...

[Q] Before giving to service?

Hi all,
There is a small line on the screen inside the glass, and I am planning to give my phone for service. Can anyone please tell me what precautions I need to take before giving for service?
How to take a complete backup, my phone is not rooted.
Thanks in advance. I am sure this question will be useful to many people.
