Do you guys prefer to buy the phones outright or upgrade with a 2-year contract?
I would get a new contract, the phone without a contract is 600$, if you upgrade at best buy or radioshack you get the phone for 200. If you cancel the contract early its 200$ so either way you save 200$

I'm just wondering if there's anywhere to pre-order online yet? I'm fine with it arriving a few days after release.. It would be the most convenient way for me so I don't have to drag the account holder out with me since I don't own the account >.>
I see you can on Wal-Mart and LetsTalk now, but they want $299.99 for an upgrade for whatever reason with no mention of a rebate.

Are we looking at the same website? Both of them appear to be listed at $199.99 to me.
Yes, it says buy w/ new account: $199.99
and buy w/upgrade: $299.99
I'd be using my 2year upgrade
I'm not completely sure I understand, how come the upgrade price doesn't get the rebate? If I'm out of contract, can't I just sign up with a new contract and get the cheaper price and then cancel my old one which is month-to-month any way?
Radioshack has it for $199 without the mail-in rebate on their front page right now.
i am a silver member and just hit my 1 year mark so i have $75 towards an upgrade. If i trade in my evo for the $125 buyback is it possible to sign up for a new two year contract and use the $200 to get the SGSII free?

No because the $75 off gets taken off the retail price of the phone. So The SGSII will probably be around $550 so you would take $75 off that and then subtract whatever the store buys back your Evo for.

oh ouch. thanks for the info.
Also from one of the recently released dealer handbooks, it seems they are doing away with the $75 yearly upgrade effective early October. You get the 22mo full upgrade (12mo for Premier) and thats it.

just press new to att at the bottom. Select the lumia 900 and your plan and cart will show $100 discount
Wow, they really are not ruining this one with the price.
I got the $100 dollar discount, but that discount didn't make it free. It brought the price down from $199.99 to $99.99. I think $200 is the intended retail price, but a $100 promotion bring the price down to $100.
It might be free for others, but thats the way it worked with my company discount.
Mine came out to $0 due after discount. I already got confirmation that the order was processed and sent to the warehouse for shipping
Can I take advantage of this if I am on Sprint and I would like to transfer my line to an existing AT&T plan with my family? I'm new to AT&T even if they aren't.
Wondering if I should upgrade, for now walmart is the cheapest @$148 , but I want to get it at less than $100 for upgrade, per phone.
Does any of you know if the price is going down? I'm just wondering with GS4 possible in February 2013, they might want to pull an iphone, and keep the price at this level until they release a new phone. Then drop $100 to $99 on contract for GS3. And give the GS 2 for a buck.
So if this is the plan, I'm willing to buy now for $150, but if they gonna drop it to $1 in couple of months, I wouldn't buy it.
EDIT: this is for at&t.

Well with the announcement of the GS4
I'm curious to see if the unlocked price of the GS3 is going to go down. Right now its about 540-550 unlocked.

If you are eligible for an upgrade WITHIN THE YEAR you are eligible for a $50 gift card from best buy. Reserve yours now! Requires phone serve that Best Buy supports (t-mobile/sprint/verizon/at&t)
You do not need to upgrade now, but when you are ready to and/or your contract is up for renewal, essentially, you receive $50 back in lieu of your contract renewal!
