Does anyone know if there is a tweak that allows push notifications to android OS? I'm coming from an iphone and has been spoiled by that. I'm a bit of a facebook addict and I like being notified instantly kind of like what handcent does for sms.
Yea, they are at the top of your screen and pop up for every incoming anything. They are unobtrusive (unlike the iPhone). You swipe down from the notification bar at the top of the screen to read/respond to them. You can enable notifications for Facebook in the Facebook app.

MissedIt (at least in the latest version 1.4.0) works with all email clients which support notification, e.g K9.
Every app that uses notifications can be displayed (now).

I use the widget "SMS Unread Count", the thing for calls, mails and sms. works perfectly, but also miss the notification for gtalk...
when dragging the widget to homescreen, you'll have the possibility to change the icon, to give them a title... decide which "notification" size to choose–there are two options, small and large. zero's could also be displayed by choice.
a app called "missed it!" is what you looking for

Not that it only kills your battery but it severely speeds up the degradation on the screen even if its just black. A lit screen will degrade faster than a totally off screen.
Thanks brendo.
I assume this could be done for Facebook and Twitter???
yeah, anything with a notification (a number that dispays on the icon). ive seen it done with facebook, wish i could do it with ebay

I just switched to the one x from iphone 4, but the notification system seems to be a lot worse, there isn't even a notifications setting in settings and I'm not getting notified of draw something moves?
is there a fix to that?
You should have seen the old ios notification lol. I am sure there is a way to fix drawsomething notification. Is it an app problem?
There should be no problems with other stuff such as emails , whatsapp, viber etc which I am using.
Btw, coming from ios, you will have much to learn and you will like android. Unless you just want a dumbed down fuss free experience. Hehe

DrawSomething currently has no notifications. However there is a big update planned soon which will include notifications. See here http://phandroid.com/2012/03/25/draw-something-soon-to-receive-a-substantial-update/
I really do like android, this is just one little drawback
facebook and skype don't seem to have notifications either, i'd expect there to be a menu in settings just like iOS where you can customize which apps you want to have notifications or not?

Notification settings are usually contained within the app itself, rather than a global setting. Skype and Facebook have settings for Notifications.
As above, each individual app has notification settings within the settings of the app.

As others have said each individual app tends to have notification settings that you set up personally. There are some global notifications for email, SMS, missed calls that will flash the LED light located under "Display & gestures > Notification flash".
I'm also having problems with Facebook for Android and FB Messenger. I have notifications enabled and set up correctly, yet I'm not receiving anything for them. Also, Draw Something now has the ability for Android notifications, but each time I try to enable it, I get told they're not supported by my phone.
Anyone know if there is any way to change handcent notifications? They have yet to put in any expandable notifications.
I love the stock messenger notifications, especially after the CM10 addition of "Additional notification action to call sender," but the messenging app is ugly and too large to be functional for me.
Combining stock notifications to handcent app would make my life sparkle like a unicorn.

What is the change in the notification you exactly want?
As for expandable notifications, I have it working fine with Handcent.

I'm looking for the Handcent notification to work like the default messaging app for 4.2, where there is an option to click 'Reply' right from the notification and a 'Quick Reply' box will come up. Right now, Handcent has no additional/expanded functionality in the notification for 4.2 and you have to click the whole notification to be brought into Handcent app to reply to the message.
Has anybody noticed this peculiar behavior which I believe is a bug in all of the custom roms based on pie. Whenever you want to quick reply to a message from the notification drawer say for example on a messaging app like WhatsApp, if that message which you're replying to is not at the very top in the notification drawer, it gets hidden or scrolled down as soon as the keyboard pops up. Because of this as you type you can't see what you're typing in the text box. You'll have to minimize the keyboard by pulling it down to see the text.
Apart from notification drawer, I have also observed this when I'm replying over comments or commenting inside YouTube app. The text box gets covered with the keyboard.
Ideally, the text box should adust itself like it did in the stock 7.0 ROM.

Hey did you find a solution for this Problem?
Hi All,
I'm using Nova Launcher 6 and Tesla Unread for years. The only thing that prevents me from updating to Nova 7 is the lack of Tesla Unread.
Is there an alternative to this addon?
Any update on this?
I'm not sure what you mean, tesla unread is obsolete we now have all the function built in Nova and Android. Enable notifcation access for Nova and select what kind dot, number customize color etc in Nova options. In order to select which apps use it and which dont you use android app notifcation settings individually and de-select use of the badge.

It is not the same functionality. As soon as you swipe the botifi ation away the unread count vanishes. Tesla unread always had a badge on the app icon with a count it never counted on the notifications.

I think that's the normal function, its an un-read count notifier, so it should go away once you've read or swiped away the notification, why would you want the number to stay, or am i misunderstanding?

But it's not how the old function worked. Previously TelsaUnread didn't rely on notifications for unread counts, ie. I don't want a notification for every work email I get, but I like the number showing on the icon.
To this day I am still using Tesla Unread and Nova6 for my unread message counter (for whastapp, gmail, etc.), is there no new solution?
The "notifications" counter doesn't work for me, since I have them disabled. I am not interested in a notification for each WhatsApp or for each email that arrives, which are dozens.... I want to know how many pending messages I have.
I don't understand this operation of android...
