Hey,
Im sorry if this is a really stupid question!
But ive got Core player and kinoma, and all i want to do is stream videos from youtube, but once i start streaming it always opens up the default Windows Media player on my mobile.
I always use browse internet explorer to do this then select the youtube link on the site..
If theres any way of changing the program that gets opened could you please tell me!
Im using the standard Kavana’s 6.1 ROM.
Cheers
Get skyfire and just play them as you would on you pc.

That still doesnt solve my problem, I need to change my Default Windows Media Player on my Mobile to open to another program instead to stream.

hello everyone, im not new to the forums but this is my first time posting. My problem is that I wish to use TCPMP in order to view streams but cannot due to Streaming Media Player being a default program. Now I have all the correct plugins for TCPMP but no matter what I do everytime I click on a flv link streaming media player pops up. I see no way to uninstall this or get around it and its getting really irritating because the video is always choppy and never connects properly. My question to you all is if there was a way to get rid of this program so that I might actually be able to use TCPMP to stream?. Or maybe even a way to save flv files and launch them from the tcpmp player? (without having to sync with pc, im on the road alot due to work)
HTC Advantage x7501 , original rom
or could I use some kind of registry tool to change or erase it? I would really appreciate any kind of help
Try to set the file associations in TCPMP.
doesn't work tried it a hundred times
yesterday i try to get rid of some old apps instaled on my HD and i messed with the registry
i also instaled new apps
last night i tryed to watch a movie (mp4 format) that i now for sure it worked when i loaded on my sd card
now the HTC Album doesn't play it any more and i tryed with other movies and it's the same. i get the following message:
"No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
what the heck is that?
is it possible to accidentaly erased some essential things or the new apps to overwrite something?
the pictures are played well, so i am confused
could anyone help?
thanks a lot!
best regards!
nobody?
at least does anyone have, or can make, a cab with windows media player?
it seems that there is the problem
thank you!
which rom you use?
try Windows Media Player if you have a cooked rom! or go to HTC Album press Option search your Movie
nope
i use stock rom 1.14.479.3(25874)WWE
album can "see" the movies within movies folder but it doesn't play them. i just get the mentioned message
same with windows media player but no message. just not play the files.

And just from my point of view, if ANYONE suggest Coreplayer, please do me a personal favour and ignore them. Whilst Coreplayer will play the majority of video files...due to a lack of hardware acceleration support it plays them incredibly poorly in my rather expansive experience of Windows Mobile devices.

yeah, coreplayer does play the files, but i spent a lot of time converting them in order to play with album / wmplayer because of the hardware accelearation and now i can do that anymore
it kinda drive me crazy because i don't want to do a hard reset. AGAIN
how MP4 file association to WMP?
I tried with Total Commander, but i set param %1, i have error
if no param, just start the WMP.
Open from Library play video correctly
nope
tryed to do what you said with total commander - same result
must be something related to that message
but what filters are those? and what to do with them?
cmmon guys, don't let me hard reset again
have a heart!
so it seems that i am talking to myself here
back to old hard reset fashion way
omg how i hate that
it is me talking alone again
i fond out that this error message also appears on PC's and it is related to DirectX 9, and more exactly DirectShow
do I have DirectShow on my HD and I ersed something?
any way to restore / reinstall that?
and the last one
it seems that also youtube player doesn't work anymore
it gives everytime the message "cannot play this video"
so, to resume:
- Windows Media Player, HTC Album, DivX Player does not play mp4 files (i dont't know about Kinoma because i have the free version)
- Core Player plays mp4 files but bad
HTC Album returns error message "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
- Youtube Player does not plays files from youtube
- Core Player and Kinoma plays files fom youtube
Youtube Player returns error message "Cannot play this movie"
any ideeas what to do, except the hard reset?
thank you for any ideea!
I upgraded to the T-Mobile 6.5 version, but can't seem to stream videos anymore. I get an error message saying:
"There is no application associated with "rtsp://stream.zoovision.com/.../***.3gp" Run the application first, then open this file from within the application."
I haven't had this problem in the past, only when I had upgraded. I also wasn't able to find anything else on XDA. Is there a different player I need to download? I know I can play 3gp videos, but not streaming ones I gues.
Thanks for any help.
Bump..
Any help at all?
You need to install a streaming media player.

Any suggestion on a free one? And why doesn't the upgrade come with one?
Thanks.
Use this: It's free, and it's the best

Pay no attention to the poster saying not to use it for streaming sources - it works better than good for anything you throw at it.
Cheers!
Must be a TMobile thing - both VZW ROMs have a streaming media app that works with 3gp.
RTSP protocol not supported
I installed TCMP. It doesn't seem to do the trick. I click on the link in Opera and get the same message from my first post. I copy the rtsp link and write it into TCMP and I get the error that "RTSP protocol not supported."
So, it looks like the only way to do this is to download the videos. Is this the only way? I really am confused, since I could do it before on 6.1 version T-Mobile.
Ok, so I found the HTC streaming media player, I believe it is an older version, but not sure. It plays videos (awesome), but no sound (DANG!). So close. Anyone have expertise with this program or know why I am not getting sound?
I am so close!
Any ideas? Am I the only one with this problem?
Try this one.
Thanks! That did the trick. I am still puzzled why this wasn't included int the T-Mobile upgrade.
Thanks again!

the problem is likely the codec used to encode the file. there is currently only one player (yxflash) that even purports to open up divx/xvid encoded files, and it sucks at it.
what you may try is the skyfire browser. it may be able to decode some of the things you want to watch server-side, then send you a viewable file on the fly.
