I noticed that even with ROOT Barnacle wifi tether is not working. Does anyone have it working? If not I'm just posting this hoping that one of the awesome devs here will fix it

Having the same problem here...plz help.
In case people are still having this problem, I've discovered a fix.
1. From the Market, download and install Barnacle Legacy
2. Disable 4G. Only works with 3G.
That's it. If someone figures out how to make it work with 4G please enlighten me!

Hello I have a rooted lg55c optimus q on 2.3.4 with arearom v1.4 when I try to run barnacle wifi I get the following message
Shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: permision ddenied
Tried to google the error but really couldn't find any usefull info just referred me to linux stuff which didn't suprise me any help would be great thanks in advance

I tried copying the files over manually on m-deejays clockworkmod Gingerbread using Root Explorer. Now any GPS test or GPS status app I try just force closes

I use adb push to /system/lib
now use google map have gps status on task bar..

tethering is working for me on mdjs ginger bread rom just google wireless tether apk and down load 2_0_6 pre5 works great

Only USB tethering. And even that doesn't work on the Defy because we can't install a custom kernel.
For wifi tethering, people usually advise to install "Wifi Tether for Root".
I would love to see this as well!

I didn't follow all the instructions but only added the following lines using Root Explorer to /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
eapol_version=1 <--------------- Add this
ap_scan=2 <---------------------- Add this
I am using MIUI 1.8.12 (Android 2.3.5) and now I can connect to ad-hoc networks created on my computer and access the internet this way.

flash the attached zip in recovery and it will see ad-hoc network

it says that usb-tethering is working but when i want to use usb tethering i want to check the box but then it says "settings is closed" and then the settings window closes
how can i fix this ?

1.It is a bug in that ROM so don't try to launch system USB tethering
2.Install any third party app USB tethering like CWM tethering [attached in this post]

i use usb tethering for connect to internet from my pc i do this but it is not work for me( no internet share for phone)

we want to use usb tethering in a way that computer provide internet to our android phone. and i am running for it for so long . but not working. reverse tether ap is not working no any ap is working . can you tell me bro how to do reverse tethering when using custom rom.... such as touchwiz 5 v1 ....... htc wildfire s 2012

Nope, but I can help you with the process!
Try all the crap you might want to use to see if it works. When stuff doesn't work, write it down. Showing each bug on its own line may help.
Once you're done finding stuff, vuala! Bug list!

Probably the only bug is that a-gps doesn't work and mobile hotspot might not work (bluetooth tethering work but wifi hotspot might not) other than that the ROM have been perfect on me with no complains or problems.
Okay everything seems to work okay that I've tested the only issue I've found is that:
The System UI will crash if you rotate the device while editing the status bar icons in the settings.
When you change the art in the music app it doesn't save when the app is closed and must be re added each time.
When using the built in file manager you cannot access the SD Card, It keeps asking for root access in the settings even if you have already done so.
