Nothing for my desire, on O2 in UK
on O2 UK installed, noticed the open office icon changed. other than that exactly the same. Even the facebook contacts isssue is still there.

Sounds like the one Vodafone dropped last week. Not noticed any differences other than the office icon myself. Don't use Facebook tho ...
I started freaking out a little, the update took it's time to install and I thought I might be in a boot loop. The moral of the story is not to panic.
No 720p recording, no DIVX support.
Text messages display the message count. Erm, looking hard for anything exciting here.
I wouldn't be surprised if we never see HD recording and Divx, they promised android 2.1 pretty much as soon as i had my hero last summer, its sold now and there is still no official update for it yet.
I know people say this is there new phone but so was the hero back then, give it time a better phone will be out and they will probably stop supporting this properly.

I had a Hero and did exactly what you have; sold it because the update never came.
I want to believe that they have learned from their mistakes, OTA updating is a lot better on the Desire. I'm worried that we will have another Hero though and no timely update to Froyo.
1. Warning: Be careful when updating. Maybe root will not be possible anymore!
2. Does this update change the bootloader? Which version is it after the update?
3. Is there already an update.zip for rooted devices?

I've just run a manual update check and it has found an update from t-Mobile to 1.15.110.11. Downloading now.
Update was quick and painless. No issues and no obvious changes.
Still behind the Generic one i updated to from the T-Mobile one, atm mine is 1.15.405.4
no, it's not behind the generic one.
110 is the code for t-mobile and 405 is the code for HTC branded EU devices. It is not a revision number.
1.15.110.11 is t-mobiles version of 1.15.405.4. they are the exactly the same ROM.
Bonus then
Downloading now, hoping this fixes the Charging issue for me!
Newbie questions...
1. When you say 'generic', does that just mean the standard HTC ROM?
2. I can't see it available for download yet from the HTC website?
3. When available - can you just install it over the top of the T-Mobile ROM - or do you have to 'hack' things somehow?

1. yes
2. might be availiable later, or might be not
3. you need to make a goldcard first then install a generic HTC Rom over the T-mobile one, this doesnt affect your warranty, unless you can flash back to t-mobile rom if you are willing to send it back for some reason
Ok, i've just installed it and i'm seeing the movement from one screen to another is little less smoother now.
Using Open Home, not looked at Sense as yet.
The fact that HTC and T-Mobile are able to tell us what the update actually / does apart from adding a number! is a little concern. Why issue an update if you don't know what it is for?
Will keep eye on Battery and smoothness of phone over w/e.
Just before the update I was looking at the battery usage stats and it said Android was 37% usage.
After upgrade it's now at 62% usage!
Anyone else confirm what is says on theirs?
Could someone who receives this update please take a copy of the file and upload it somewhere and post the url here
This file would be very handy in possibly creating a way of re-branding our t-mobile handsets

Cez, just to clarify for the guy, did you mean this does affect your warranty unless you can flash it back?
If you sent a T-Mobile Desire with the generic ROM back for repair it'd be returned as invalid warranty. If you can get it back to how it was out the box they should be none the wiser
When I check for mine it still says no update.

If you did not receive your phone first (the 27th) I believe you already have the update! Just letting you know
(I think)
Am installing now (actually just finishing) during the process the phone appeared to reboot twice, does that imply a radio upgrade?
By the way, love the update graphics for this, haven't seen any since i updated from 1.0 to 1.1 on the G1.
When ordering, I asked T-Mobile about ROMs - they said I could get updates from themselves or direct from HTC, and neither would invalidate the warranty. Not sure I believed 'em though. I've learnt to take what sales people say with a big 'pinch of salt'!
no, what t-mobile told you was not true, mainly because the guy you asked is likely not paid enough to give a **** about whether he's right or not....

As far as it goes this statement is not incorrect. If you use a legitimate ROM ,designed for your hardware and carrier and released by your carrier and/or hardware manufacturer you will not invalidate the warranty. If you used a ROM released by HTC for Virgin Mobile phones on a T-Mobile phone however this would be unacceptable (assuming they notice the difference)
Ok the other day i decided to get rid of the orange rom from my HTC Desire so i created a goldcard flashed the testruu.exe file then i rooted my phone. yesterday i decided to unroot it and reflash the htc generic rom. all was working perfect then today i checked for ota update. there was one ready to download so i got it installed and it was working fine. ive just got home from work now and my wifi says unable to start under settings. dont know how its happened
Any ideas how to fix this.
Thanks in advance.
p.s.
please dont tell me ive got to flash my phone again otherwise i will get all my friends iphones to rape the desire right up the usb slot
you could try doing a manual update using the RUU 1.21.405.2 in the dev forum. I used that and I have no wi-fi problems...
Funny, the other reports of broken wi-fi I've read seem to be from people who had previously rooted their phones too...
Is there no other way around this other than flashing the rom?
Doubt it, but it's pretty soon after the official roll-out. Give it time and somebody might figure something out.

Mine has never been rooted and I have the same wi-fi problem after the 1.21.405.2 update.
Not so funny then, I guess.
Try flashing with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684259
It's the same update... but it works. At least, it worked on mine and many others. It will wipe everything so make sure to back up first.
Same here...Never rooted, but I did de-brand with a generic ROM using a GoldCard. Can't start Wi-Fi.
Does anyone know if T-Mobile customers with the stock T-Mobile ROM have received this update?
Hello. Exactly same problem for me: Orange France ROM flashed to official HTC, and after upgrade unrecognized wifi. It was never rooted.
How to be sure to have an official ROM ?
Thanks.
Ok, so it's not rooting, but we now have three people in this thread who have flashed to the generic rom and then updated, who now have broken wireless.
Teppic24 - how about you? Did you debrand your phone? Just curious. If that's the issue maybe we can warn people who have done the same...
Yes I did de-brand.
So basically, everybody in this thread who has wireless issues, de-branded their phone before applying the update?
There's a pattern here...
It's exactly the same for me. I debranded my French Orange HTC Desire with the official HTC Rom, and now no more Wifi
What's more, I have never rooted my Desire.
arrrrrrggggghhhh Help!
Just flashed it using the same 1.21.405.2 rom from the dev section and now its asking for sim network unlock pin
I put in my goldcard and booted to fastboot then with my phone connected to pc i ran the rom.exe and it installed booted up and now its asking for sim network unlock pin.
Any ideas plz
Thanks
Dion
Yeah, I don't know what exactly the issue is, but the debranding does seem to be the culprit (so far, anyway)
As mentioned previously, you can probably fix it by flashing your Desire with the rom linked in the first post here:

It's an official release. It will wipe everything, so make sure to back up first.

Well, I just plugged my phone in and opened the RUU on my pc. But my desire is a stock, unaltered model.
I don't know if it will be the same for you guys.
With my unabeled wifi, rebranded HTC rom after Orange, my base band version is:
32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11
In hope it helps...
It seems that there is no trouble with this one : 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2.
If someone want to make a test ... and there an other one : 32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2
Silly question probably, but I don't care:
Is it possible to flash only the baseband ?
Changelog for OTA 2.29.405.2:
- New radio - 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 (EddyOS)
- New version of Flash than 2.10.405.2 (EddyOS)
- New Facebook app version 1.4.1 (jobalz)
- New "Related" tab in the Market (arewenotmen)
- New "Group message" button in Messages (milosmeda)
Finally, there are not much changes found yet and I'm wondering why this update was released. I was expecting the new Sense, but maybe this update is just to update the radio, because the new Sence requires it. Just a thought.
So if anybody saw a difference please post, so we can gather all changes in one place.
PS. I did not wanted to use the other post because too much offtopic in it.
PS2. Let's keep the post for changes only.
PS3. If you have root and apply the OTA update you may face problems. Read before doing it.
- New radio - 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
- New(er) version of Flash than 2.10.405.2
That's literally all I've noticed
- problem with battery on 90% when yout put off the charger in the morning is gone now.
new facebook app
Is it (facebook app) newer than the one on the marketplace?
Not in the RUU. Was 1.3.2 and Market is now 1.4.1
I would have thought the only likely thing updated about facebook would be something like the friendstream/facebook linking things...
Did you notice earlier in the world clock tool (after clicking on clock) you can see in which cities you have set is the night (black hour) or day (white)?

I rooted my phone but I kept the original ROM.
It might be a stupid question but still:
Is this OTA going to upgrade HBOOT and unroot my phone?
Yes and it will also screw your phone up leading to a hard reset and losing all your data. You shouldn't apply an OTA to a rooted ROM
Ok, dont want to ask a stupid question but here goes...
I have just updated to this OTA update and now my wifi is not working, its just saying error...
My phone is not rooted, I used the gold card method to flash a htc rom, without the orange bloatware my phone came with...
I have done a couple of OTA updates with no problem, the only issue I had one is that the baseband(i think??) got changed and I had to buy an unlock code to make it recognise my sim !
Any ideas on this?
Okay. My mobile is rooted with official ROM.
Now i pressed update to 2.29.blabla.
Would this brick my desire?
My screen is now like this after auto restart for update:

Hi,
I have a HTC Mozart from the German T-Mobile.
Because it took me to much time to wait for NoDo I flashed with a HTC debranded Rom and made the update to NoDo.
Now I would like to go back to the Build 7004 of the debranded Rom to make the unlock / jailbreak and later update to NoDo.
So I thougt I just flash the debranded Rom over my current NoDo Phone.
But everytime I flash it, there is still NoDo!!!
The Rom didn't had NoDo when I flashed it in the first place. It seems like flashing doesn't work or the Phone updates it self during the first start up.
I tried it more than one time.
Flashing back to the original T-Mobile Rom brings me back to Build 7004. But when I flash now the debrandet Rom it will be NoDo!
Anybody have an idea?
I have known enough of the HTC hardware architecture over the years to realize that re-imaging should be a no-brainer but also that the devil is in the partitions. However, for some unexplained reason, Mr. Watson's note/warning makes me wonder if reflashing will actually leave it just as new...
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_...all-updated-windows-phones-are-not-alike.aspx
Are you flashing using all the nbh files (meaning, *all* partitions)? What tool are you using to flash? Maybe that scenario is what he describes in his post, where there are leftovers? {however should not apply if flashing} But, you say that using the original ROM does bring everything back to 7004. Odd indeed.
As a final note and taking a different approach, check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=671743. He mentions that when dumping there is a bunch of unkown partitions. What if the update stored some update-related stuff, applicable only to the unbranded version (in other words, those alledged update bits being version specific)? Such a conspiracy theory would suit your scenario.
Hi fosormic,
thanks for your answer.
Maybe I can solve the problem flashing another Rom from this site. It really seems like there is a rest of the NoDo-Update on the Phone for the HTC Rom.
But even when I flash down to 7004 with the T-Mobile Rom the NoDo pieces will stay.
A friend using Android asked me if it's not possible to set an option to erase the whole phone before flashing. That could be an option but I'm not sure if it's available on Windows Phone.
OK, I will work with the T-Mobile Rom. Do you think it will work installing NoDo and later flash back to the 7004 Version?
Regards
Dennis

Hi there, to be honest I have no clue. I suspect your friend is a Samsung user (I have 3 devices) and yes you can repartition a Samsung and very easily mess it up beyond almost almost any help. I have never seen a repartitionable HTC device but my knowledge at such low level is quite superficial. From the bootloader viewpoint they do seem almost identical (newer versions aside) to me.
Sorry not to be more helpful. It is more of an academic thing to me but I know it is a real deal to you

They normally take 2-3 months to issue new firmware. You'll just have to wait it out. One of the things I miss from my iphone..

Please forgive my extreme Noobness, first Android phone so learning the ropes..
My HTX One X has the Taiwan CID as I bought it online. Phone is now rooted and am being offered OTA updates for Taiwan CID.
Is it possible to flash the Optus Aus CID onto the phone so that I can relock it to install the Optus OTA update when it becomes available, then unlock and reflash recovery mod and superSU?
Thanks
I don't think you can change CID w/out S-OFF.
IF you're unlocked who cares about OTA just install your latest version of custom ROM
BTW This is HTC specific not android general, samsung for example doesn't have this issue.
---------- Post added at 10:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:44 AM ----------
I am also waiting eagerly for this update. I have the SD card bug and I want it fixed with 1.29.xxx.11 base hboot, radio etc. before I unlock and start customising.
THis is my second OneX and I believe my first one developed major IO issues after using CWM with 1.26 base which I suspect is all related to the buggy filesystem drivers.
Thanks for the info.
I'm not really that interested in custom ROMs at this stage, still finding my feet with the stock ROM. But rooted in order to use root explorer and Titanium backup etc.
Sounds like I'll just hang out where I am and wait for maybe 1.3 to come out along with S-OFF as I haven't come across any issues so far, currently running 1.29.709.7.
The update was for 1.29.709.12.
regardless of taiwan or whatever region you should update. .11 onwards fixed a bunch of major bugs (flickering, sd card space disappearing)
OK thanks for the advice.
I reflashed the stock recovery back on, re-locked the bootloader then and applied the OTA update.
Now at .12.
Unlocked bootloader, reapplied recovery and added superSU.
One thing that seems a bit annoying is that when the bootloader is unlocked, the phone goes back to factory config. Is that avoidable at all?
Just means have to restore from backup. Using Hasoon2000's HTC All in one toolkit to do most of the work and Titanium for backup/restore

If you do that - you'll void your warranty and the One X has a lot of hardware issues that can come up - G-sensor failture, screen flickering, sd-card disappearing. Your taking a big risk with unlocking the bootloader.
Vodafone Australia in their software update blog have advised it's currently being internally tested and I'd expect it to be released next week. Maybe Optus is doing the same internal testing. There is the question as to when they start and how long to finish. See if Optus has a software update blog

luck of the draw, allphones accepted my return no worries but I did relock/RUU it. lol. Having said that I haven't unlocked my second, which, touch wood, seems perfectly fine aside from the SD card disappearing space bug which is a known software issue resolveable via OTA.
run it for a month or so, if no hardware issues and AFTER 1.29.x.11 OTA (THE ONE THAT FIXES THE SD CARD FILESYSTEM DRIVER BUG!!!) then go for it, my 2c.
Also wouldn't hurt to wait for recovery to come out that has USB mounting , so if anything goes wrong with your storage you can push a ROM to storage to flash instead of being dead in the water and having to relock/RUU. Why HTC u no removeable storage lol... feel sorry for the guys who bricked due to low power back in the early days when you couldn't charge in recovery (?!?!?! why htc tie charging to recovery rofl).
To be brutally honest had I known how much fiddliness was involved in flashing ROMs (no full SOFF etc.) I would have probably waited and gone the SGS3. As it is I love my OneX but really, REALLY missing custom roms (nailed on android rom flashing addict here)
anyone still awake? LOL

I would have already gone custom except for my previous experience with this model (i.e. somehow in flashing I managed to create serious IO lag that not even an RUU would fix) + definite storage/filesystem driver bug on my current unit has turned me off the idea for now. Having said that, I really just want the disappearing space bug sorted, better battery wouldn't hurt, then the only thing that I really want custom ROM for is root and three dot menu mod. I put root and custom in same basket as both involve unlocking bootloader hence invalidating warranty
Running a stock droid feels so dirty lol
