Hello guys. I would like to request a one hundred push ups app.
This is the website: hundredpushups.com/index.html
And there is already an iphone app for it. Maybe someone is able to make the same thing? So a little stopwatch + reminder when you need to push up and the weeks etcetera.
Great thanks!
I could probably make something like this. But it would have to be on my backburners until i finish up FFP_LockScreen (which shouldn't be too much longer). And put in the time that VisualGVoice deserves (*sigh*). If there were incentive to make such an app, I could push it up my To-Do list, but realize that my other apps have incentives as well (both monetary and challenges to my coding abilities).
It wouldn't be too hard to make, in fact. If someone wants to dev it, but needs the concepts on how to code it, I would be more than glad to help that way.

I don't suppose you'd have time to modify imgresize to report back the image dimensions? I love the app, but I would love it even more if I fed it an argument like "-find res" - and it returned the x and y dimensions, so that I can determine whether an image needs resizing or not. Sorry for the ot.

I will consider this after I release the next version of LateReader.
By the time can somebody post the screenshots from the iphone application. The screenshots really help a lot when developing a GUI intensive application.
Here are all the images you need:
itunes.apple.com/nl/app/hundred-pushups/id301174591?mt=8
Edit:
And if someone is developing it, could you please bring out a Qvga version first? I got a palm treo pro

If I happen to start developing this, it will have to be resolution independent then (usually no big deal), because I have a HD2 (WVGA).
Also the link contains only two images of the iphone app as far as I see. If we could have more screenshots (one for each screen), that would help a lot. I know, the concept is already very simple, but still having some screens to start with makes the development process real faster.
Edit : actually the link contains 5 images but still not all the screens covered. OK, whatever, this at least something to start with.
Some more images are over here,

Not yet... LateReader still requires my time I believe.
Anyway, I will definitely look into this if no one starts developing, but I can not promise for when I would start it
I too have this app for my ipod touch and I have the sit-ups one. I been thinking about making this as an app, which should be simple enough. The only thing I need to figure out is the number of push ups required for each days etc.
For example, when you first use it you are suppose to do as many as you can and then enter that number. From there the program works out how many push ups you have to do each day. How do you work that out?

You can use the tables provided in the website. (www.hundredpushups.com, etc.)
nice! I will take a look
Wanted to say the same, check out the tables @ the website. when you start up the app you can just choose your table and from there a little timer appears and you have to do the pushup's your supposed to do
I have started work on this application and will keep you posted with updates. Any idea for a program name? Don't really want to call it "100 pushups"

How about "Flexiones" or "Chester" or "Daily Break" or "Earth Mover" or "Parallels"???
Just throwing out what just popped in
Can I help you with the beta... PM me.
Push it to the limit!
Could i be a beta tester?
After just discovering the hundred push up site the other day and deciding to do it; it took one quick search to find you guys have just started making this program!
Would love to help with any beta testing if I could be useful!
You can all be beta testers
There are 3 main stages/versions I'm aiming for.
Functionality - This will be the first version which will have a rubbish GUI but its purpose will be to make sure the program works.
GUI - This will be as above but a nice polished GUI to run it :-D
Final Build - After I post the GUI version I will be asking if anyone wants features added or something changed etc. This version will have those changes.
Here's what I currently have and testing in the Functionality version.
* Databased filled with the 6 weeks programs.
* Main menu with 3 buttons. "Today's Program", "Log/Charts" and "Good Form". The last 2 buttons are currently disabled.
* Today's Program displays a test screen after every week and will create a program for the next week based on the results.
* Today's Program displays the week number, Day, number of sets and the number of reps for each set. There is also a working timer for the rest periods.
* After each program has been completed the data is recorded.
At the moment everything seems to be working, I simulated 2 weeks worth and everything recorded and the correct programs loaded etc. So, if I continue as I am I may have a first release ready by the weekend for people to play with.

A few changes:
Alright so first off after seeing that this actually got some response, I'm opening it up for other people to edit as well. Hopefully we can figure out a way to do this responsibly... But I figure a community effort on this is much more valuable (especially because my theming is a bit rusty)
Key Files Chart
I am also gonna start modelling this off of a Cyanogen build because those builds seem to be the most poplar now. Keep in mind that much of what works in one theme translates well to most others.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original Post:
Hey guys so here is what I've been working on.
(Use new Link Above)
Its pretty much a simple list of locations of files that are essential to theming and what they control. This is definitely meant to be simple and geared more towards beginners. I think the thing that was hardest thing for me to learn theming was finding out where specific files were. So hopefully this might help bring down the learning curve.
Plan is to keep on updating this as long as there is interest and questions that people raise. Most of this is from my, relatively, limited knowledge of theming so if anyone else wants to jump in on this, I would be more than happy to add you as a collaborator (thats right, YOU!).
Also, I have this written according to how I know Haykuro's Builds work (because thats the version I use). If things are similar enough to other builds, it shouldn't be too hard to compile a master list across all three 1.5 builds. Let me know. : )
what a great idea! I wish this would have been available to me when I started my first theme! good work
Haha thanks. I been lax bout it lately cuz it really doesnt seem to be catching on at all. Ill wait and see if anymore interest builds up before continuing to update.
Hi!
I would be interested in an update I have been wading through a ton of information, I want to make a theme myself and I have just finished setting everything up properly on my system. I have seen how many image files there are to sort through and the names would be a great help, and I think, a good idea for others too

This is great; although I am new to Android themes, I have extensive experience with BB themes, although that is the "apples to oranges" scenario. Plazmic of course does the grunt work in those, but I have written svg's for animation, hidden docks etc. Hopefully that will help me catch on at a faster rate compared to never having done that sort of thing. So any info you can pass along is much appreciated!- Chris aka riffman
TY
Awesome work. You just simplified SO much of what I was not looking forward to.
I would like an update as well. I am lost sometimes. lol
I'm good on what most of the .png files control, but if you could make one for the .xml files in framework-res.apk/res/layout that would be killer.
Haha wow. Five months later I'm seeing this thread actually got some feedback (And linked on the "Helpful Threads" sticky to boot). I was considering making the document an open project and just working on maintaining the structure if that sounds helpful to people because there are plenty of things that I would like to know as well (like .xmls)
EDIT: Alright I just changed it to open system so that anyone can edit it. I should probably also change the name off from Haykuro seeing as how hes out of the running now...
Anyone interested in helping out?
*EDIT*
This application is complete, and has been branded G:RSS. The new thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700948
The release: http://nowsci.com/techviews/20100612/grss-a-google-reader-rss-app-for-windows-phone-7-wp7/
Unfortunatly I´m unable to help, but please continue with your work, it looks very very nice!
Sounds interesting. How far have you got, and whats still to do?
From the looks of the screenshot, it seems you've allready got most stuff working. Just need some design tweaks
I've got the structure laid out and am working through the Google API now. My biggest issue is I'm new to Silverlight/C#, and while it is 99% straightfoward, I'm having a problem figuring out how to get the HTTP Request working properly. I've got a thread started on the Windows Phone 7 forum here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo.../thread/8e918a12-135a-45b3-9764-0a24f631f4b3/
And yea, the UI is my first pass, it's what I'm working towards until I get it functioning fully in the emulator, then I'll revise.
Nice, but I think what is really needed is a view like you get on reader.google.com, where you can click through your news items in its full form.

I'll be building in swipe gestures, right for next article, left for previous. I think this is the best way to display an article and navigate. I was debating on placing the headline for the next article below, so you could tap on it, but longer articles would force scrolling. If anyone has any suggestions for how navigation could work otherwise, I haven't built that piece of the puzzle yet, so I'm open.

Nice screens. If you are stuck and need help I am a WP7Dev and have some time to do XAML and other stuff. PM me if you are still looking for help.
I also built a GReader WP7 app, screens are not as well designed as yours! Good job.
I'm actually finishing it up now. It's fully functional with almost all of the features of the desktop reader including on-phone caching. It's also looking much better than my concepts including theme options. I'll post a video when its complete, to see if there are any other things people want.
Great! Can´t wait for the video!
Why a Google RSS reader?
Syncing with Google Reader, so you see the same read / unread items on your mobile and on your Desktop. I like it.

So I actually just completed it on my own. Was a great way to get into WP7 development. I've since named the application, and have a video of it posted. The new thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700948
Hey all, Ive been thinking about what i miss about my pre, and besides the obvious wireless charging (one can dream, right) touchstone, the one other thing i miss the most is the glowing of the trackball device at the bottom of the phone for a notification.
Now i know there are many people who have WIMAX Notifier and will say to use that, but i really dont like it as much as a more behind the scenes and clean look, and W.N. keeps crashing and is really buggy.
My app idea would incorporate the 4 buttons at the bottom using different patterns for different notifications.
Ex:
Text: Glow all 4 slow
Email: Run from right to left back to right and repeat. (8 secs for one rotation)
Missed call: Glow only home
etc.
I searched and was not able to find anyone in the developing stages of an app for this. I would be more than happy to assist with the coding, but i have no programs or anything downloaded so far, and dont really have any idea what im doing, though i do know C, Java, & C++ a bit and can learn coding quickly.
Any idea on if this could be made to work, im pretty sure there has to be a way the light sensor sends a signal to the mocrocontroller to light the keys, but can it be done independently, outside of that code section? Any words of where to start with development of this app?
Thanks for the advice, please keep it relavent and to the point, i would REALLY like to make this a reality. Also please link me to any current development on this if you can find any.\
PS. I have an evo 4g, but i assume this would be a global android app.
PPS. Dont let my 2 post count dissuade you from the ferver i have to make this app a reality. I dont post a ton, but i am very serious about creating/developing this app with some help.

Right, which are not clean at all. I want a more subtle item that is similar to the pre functionality.
Thanks for the clarification, ive been looking forever and couldnt find what i was looking for.
I think that is a great idea and would look cool as hell. Try making a quick flash demo to illustrate your idea. I'm with you and can definately visualize it but, maybe others can't. Don't give up, it's a great idea.

I think it's a FANTASTIC idea having the 4 bottom capacitive buttons blinking/flashing/glowing for notifications. I would definitely pay for this.
The number one thing I miss about my Nexus One (which I sold back in May) is the trackball notifications where it would glow different colors. Getting the 4 bottom buttons to glow/flash would suffice for me. $10 bounty pledged by me!
This would be such an awesome app...
Alright guys it sounds like there is an interest in making this happen. I will start to look into what it will take for the process to begin.
Stage 1: Getting a coding program installed and getting the HTC Sense open source code to start looking into the light sensor callout for hints of making the bottom LED's come on.
I am committed to this one guys! Sounds like there is a definate want for it thus far.
Good luck man...with all the devs have done with this device, I dont see why this wouldnt be possible.
Btw.... shouldnt this thread be in Apps/Themes section?
sent from EVO with XDA app.
This sounds great!
Alright guys, small update, got the software downloaded and the code/sdk for android 2.2. Wasnt motivated enough to put on my nerd hat and get into the code and start searching out the specific lines im looking for. The good news is I have a flow chart laid out for the notification in each scenario.
Gotta figure out how to ensure the program boots on startup and continues working until force closed.
I will be starting with Froyo, and will move it back to 2.1 eventually. My primary focus will be 2.2 on the Evo.
Welp guys i spent 10+ hours this weekend just to figure out that those LED's are only allowed control when the screen is on. This app is not possible without a significantly more experienced developer, who could make the screen control independent of the LED's. Given my little experience this has become too difficult for me to handle. I will sell my idea for free though!
Thanks for trying, would def be awesome if someone could come up with this. My old samsung instinct use to light up the bottom when it had messages, being that it was a samsung as well, I would *think* (i'm not developer) that there are def ppl with the skills to figure this out .... eventually =) thanks for trying....
Here are the algorithms:
Points Plus = protein/10.94 + carbs/9.17 + fat/3.89 - fiber/12.49
Points Regular = calories/50 + fat/3.89 - fiber/5
can you post printscreen of the others applications ?
just to know if it's only a "basic" formula calc or not
Here ya go mate, here's the old app from 2004:
invalid attachment...
by the way, is it only a calculator ?
OK, this is really rough and ready. My first WM app so be gentle. Just a plain exe file, copy to device and run.
If it works I will try and "tart" it up a wee bit.
Wow, thank you. It works very well. Would you be willing to share your work/source code so i can learn what you did?
Here's a slightly prettier version.
I'll put the code etc up sometime tomorrow, but it basically is four text boxes with a button that converts each to numeric, applies the formula and shows it in the fifth text box.
This is all that I need. Thank you very much for your work.
I can't wait to take a look at the source ^>^
So you have to type this all in, before you can eat it? Or do you need this the calculate a total per day?

I suppose one could do it this way but what I do is write the food i eat down as i eat it, then i calculate all the ponts later.
If i have too many points then i know to get rid of the foods with exessive points for the next day.
My particular goal is to eat well without tracking points - to train my mind to want healthy food choices.
Yup, the initial request was for a calculator to use on an item by item basis, which is what I have done.
The delay in releasing anything is that I got distracted by making it also do the old points scheme as well, which is nearly done. Hope to have a new exe file later tonight.
Are there any differences I should be aware of with regards to US and UK calculations?
OK, here's the latest version.
Does both old and new systems
maybe need to change name
WW are very strick on anything named with Weight Watchers. But this app is so great and I thank you so much.

Interesting hypothesis: Letting users feel free to track the old way and the new way.
Also, the US way to calculate was the formula I gave on the first post.. Not sure what the UK way would be..
Would you still be willing to upload your source for the second and third .exe you created, out of the three you have ? ^>^
EDIT: How about the name WW4WM? Also, I think you should make this 'prettier' and try to get it sponsored by Omarket and XDA Marketplace.
I've created a place for this on SourceForge
Link here.
When I can work out how to post the code there I will do so, in the meantime here's a zip of the entire DotNet tree. Only includes the latest version.
good job.
hope you will not have any probs with WW !
I've begin to do one too, but as you're the first releaser I give you the hand
;-)
i've included a possibility to have an .xml file in which you can add foods with some numbers and you can select this food in a droplist and then all fileds are prefilled.
maybe you can do something like that.
keep up this good job !
Thanks for the support, unfortunately I have sort of reached my developers skill limit for the moment.
Currently trying to work out how to do rounded buttons so the app looks nicer!
I can't wait to try your release too, corwin. I will try it s soon as released.
I plan on learning from your code too, dee.
Thank you both for all your work for my request.
if anyone is interested i'll keep making, but i don't want to steal jobs from deedee !
can you give me some more infos ? like what is in the "options" menu ?
and if you can give me a list of some predefined foods with already some values in "calories", "fat" and "fibers"...

Hi testers,
I've developed the app Timesheet. It's an app for keeping track of your work hours for payroll reporting, billing etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217159
I think, compared to the competitors, it got the most complete feature set. But i'am only getting 60-100 downloads a day, and currently the retention rate is a dismal 25%. Why?
The few ratings the app got is good (4.3), but i need critical feedback!
Why do downloaders uninstall the app?
Is the app to complicated?
Is the app poorly designed?
Is the app missing some key feature?
Is the app buggy?
Is it the ads?
Is is the lack of translations?
What is it!?
Please download, it's free, and give it a try. Then tell me whats wrong, the cold truth!

Hey! I saw your app and was really eager to test it out. However, I decided not to because I saw it required a lot of permissions; most of these permissions I did not feel comfortable giving the app. I was planning on using this to audit my payroll for myself.
I think having too many sensitive permissions is not good for this type of app in my opinion. Things like reading my personal information, my accounts, to me seems a bit much for something I was just going to use to audit my payroll.
I hope this helps! Good luck And I look forward to see how this project progresses.
Edit: Typos

Thanks for the feedback.
I've suspected potential user might see this as an issue. I think i'll move some features to optional plug-ins to reduce the permissions requirements, like READ_CALL_LOG (used by phone tasks) and MANAGE_ACCOUNTS/AUTHENTICATE_ACCOUNTS (used by ftp client).

Sweet alright thanks for the tip. Ive never used illustrator im a Photoshop guy but ill give it a try. Also i tried the app and i had a few issues getting around the UI i got a bit lost but i looks stable and also idk why but maybe just integrate the 3 icons you have installed into one that way it doesnt clutter the homescreen, i know some users dont like having 3 icons for one app. Maybe include a side bar sorta like G+ does.

I've heard others getting lost . The problem is that the app is a bit complicated. The view and data structure is both hierarchical (Main > Projects > Tasks > Expenses/Breaks) and wide at each level (Details, Tasks/Breaks, Expenses, Files). I've looked at the side drawer but it doesn't really fit the hierarchy part.
The app actually had three seperate launcher icons in earlier versions. Now it just adds the two additional home screen shortcuts. But even these will be removed in the next version.

Edit: Typos

Try out the version 1.2.3. I've moved alot of features to an extension to reduce the permisson requirement.

^_^ Thank you so much! I'm gonna give this a test starting tomorrow morning! To be honest, I didn't expect you'd go this far just from one suggestion. You're awesome :good:
I'll check it out, I've been looking for a good finance managing application anyways

I love the set up and the simplicity, one thing I think you could add to make it better is a start date on the project page, I found it confusing to backdate my project until I went on the calander and added it that way. Also as a former door-to-door salesman and now a subcontractor for construction one other thing I found frustrating is there iz no pay by the week, by the sale or by the job option sometimes I work odd hours and get payed compensation, sometimes I work odd hours and get payed by the job, and sometimes I work odd hours and get payed by the week so if you could add that it would become the perfect app for me

And one last thing to top it all off would be a total income/outgoing page a way to track what im making and spending in the time to come.

Timesheet is should really be used to punch in every time you begin work. That's why the start date is set to today when creating a new task. But as you found out, the History tab is the quickest way to add past time entries.
Change the timespan in the Overview/Details tab to see income, overtime and expenses per day, week, month, etc..

Timesheet isn't intended to be used as a calendar to register future work. But that sounds like an interesing feature we could incorporate better support for.

Hi testers,
I've developed the app Timesheet. It's an app for keeping track of your work hours for payroll reporting, billing etc.

Greatful for any and all feedback.
I made the icon myself according to the Android design guidelines. Tip. Make you icons in Illustrator for a crisp result in all resolutions.

Inkscape is also a goody and it's free!

I was looking under internationalization-> currency and noticed there was no UK (Pound Sterling) or have I missed something???
My first impression is that the app is a little daunting... but then I have never looked at a timesheet app before!
If you are you using Androids analytics you can get a good understanding of the areas people use the most. This is a good way to analyse your app, and make decisions in terms of UI.
Sorry I can't be more useful I'm not your target market

Yeah, it’s a bit over engineered. But with so much features it’s hard to keep it simple.
Since i posted this thead, we’ve added alot of features and made the UI a bit more flashy, and it helped alot. The app now got 300+ downloads a day with a retention rate around 30%. It’s top 5 of it’s kind so i think the app has reached it’s peek.
Hi there. I tried your app months ago when I was searching for... well a "timesheet" app. I was one of those who uninstalled your app. One of the common problems here in our small company was having to fill up these excel sheets. I thought your app could help me track my work hours, just to find out it was a bit complicated than what I was expecting. I only wanted to track my work hours. Basically I just wanna know how many hours I spent in a project for that day. In your app I needed to input my hours first before actually starting with my task. I know this is not the proper way to handle projects and all, but there are times when we need to insert some side jobs in between projects. So there you go.

You don't have to input the hours before you've done the task! You just begin the task and then later end it.

Voice commands, anyone?!
Any Timesheet users here who downloaded the latest version 1.2.7?
If so have anyone tried the voice commands?
Sufficient testing was impossible since the emulator doesn't have any Speech Recognition engine!
