Allows you to listen to music through the loud speakers in your car (useful when using the navigation) and the mic comes in handy when a call comes in!

Hi everyone,
Is there anyway you can force the headphone profile when plugging in something into the 3.5mm socket?
When listening to music on my standard headphones, all is well but when I plug the Desire into my car radio's aux in, the phone initially goes into headphone only mode but then decides to switch to headset.
When it switches to headset, it randomly calls, skips music and stops the music. Rather annoying when your driving.
Any idea's?
Cheers
Gavin
3,5 mm stereo (TRS) type jacks do cause issues
Hi, I had exactly the same problem (see other post on this forum: 6269599 and 667240)
I guess you'll need a TRS (car stereo 3,5mm 3 contacts) to TRRS (HTC, 3,5 mm 4 contacts) adapter.
There's no issue with the standard headset delivered with the Desire
I haven't seen this question addressed anywhere after a quick search - if you are using the headphone jack to connect to aux in your car stereo to play music, and receive a phone call and use the answer button on your Bluetooth headset, will the headset take over and override the headphone jack? Or will I have to unplug the headphone jack before answering? Thanks.
Yes, the headset will take over.
Great, thanks!
i built a car mount for my X10 using the standard hands-free mic, so when i plugged the phone into the car audio jack, i could take calls through the car stereo, and so i didn't need to wear a headset. the problem I'm having at the moment is that the mic isn't strong enough to effectively use Google voice commands without leaning up to the dash(where the mic is located)
what i was wondering, is if anyone knew of an exceptional mic that could capture more DB than the standard mic
I am having a weird isssue. Just activated this phone and was using a Optimus S before this where everything worked pretty well but was slow.
I have my Motorola BT for hands free headset in the car. It's probably at least 3 years old but has always worked great with my tablets and other devices. I usually have my BT headset on in and a AUX cable in the headphone jack. I would play music from Google Play on my stereo and incoming/outgoing calls would automatically be routed to my headset. This all worked fine on Optimus.
I tried the same setup on my ET4G and when I try to make a call over BT headset I get no Audio in my headset. Also after that any music I play on Google Play, Pandora, etc doesn't get output to 3.5mm Aux jack. I pull out the headphone jack and no music is output to the external Speaker. It's as if the ET4G is possibly trying to output to my headset and doesn't let audio thru. However I don't hear any music thru my headset as it doesn't have A2DP.
A reboot will fix the 3.5mm jack and external speaker.
Any suggestions?
If you haven't already done it, go into BT settings, click on the settings for your device, and uncheck "Media audio".
Is there a such a thing as a car bluetooth mic to enhance voice input to GS3?
Basically, I have an active car cradle which uses the usb to charge the phone, I then connect an aux cable from the phone to my car stereo, this allows me to play music through my car speakers and hear any voice calls through my car speakers. This works fine apart from the GS3 mic not being loud enough for people to hear me very well, so I need some kind of enhanced mic that connects to the phone. Any ideas?
