I have searched for this answer and so far have come up short so if it has been previously posted I apologize and just a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am running Hardware version 003 and have found that with any of the roms I have tried if they include a custom kernel or even when flashed separately everything works except my camera. Just wondered if anyone else had come across this and if there were any work arounds short of sticking with the stock kernel for now. I am mainly just looking for the additional speed and performance that others are getting with the custom kernels so if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently running a sense based rom.
thanks for reading and for any input!!
Hi all. I have been looking around at the various ROMs and Have found with my DHD (out of lack of experience maybe with modding) that I can't get an overclock on Android 2.3.X ROMs. Any reason for this? I've tried a few kernels as well and some aren't compatible with the ROM so I'm not sure what to use if any.
Any knowledge out there?
The source code for gingerbread w/ sense kernels aren't released yet so there are no custom kernels thus no overclocking. The kernels used are stock ones.
Ah thanks. I wasn't sure if there was any support out there yet. I have been flashing a few roms, radios and kernels to see if anything fitted. Also why doesn't the new sense version agree with these custom ginger roms?
I am currently running kingdom stock sense 3.0 and my ? Is does anyone know of any good kernels to go with this ROM? This will be my first kernel I look into installing so I'm still gathering info before I actually do it so any info is greatly appreciated.

There aren't any kernels that will work with that rom aside from the stock one that comes with it.
To further explain as far as I understand it:
Since the sense 3.0 roms are based on leaked versions of gingerbread, we do not have access to the full source required to customize the kernel. Older Froyo kernels are not compatible, so we have to use the stock one that came with the leak. Be patient however, since we are supposed to be getting the official gingerbread OTA "soon" (current rumor is by the end of the month), and HTC has launched a developer's site, that should provide even more resources in the near future.
Awesome thanks for the info

Thanks, i am currently running Synergy Nightlies (6/13). Everything seems alright, battery is a little questionable but not horrible, but am interested to see what kind of improvements i can make to it.
hi, i have been running this kernel on my htc desire, and it's by far the smoothest one i have used.
but there is one thing that needs adding to it and that is the charging mod(battfix)
could anyone point me in the right direction to adding the mod to it or possibly add it for me.
Tell us which software/hardware do you use on your desire. Not every kernel works for every rom.
kernel
i am using 2.10.405.5 -initd-rooted-stock-v3_1. stock hboot. pvt3.s-off the kernel has worked on all my 2.2 sense roms, and works well. would be better if i could have the charge mod added to this kernel. thanks

None of the 4.0+ ROMs have support for VPNs, so you will have to use Gingerbread to use it

Android 4.0+ was never meant to work on our phones, so you should never expect a bugless ROM for any version above ICS.
You could try some VPN apps to see if they work. I don't do much gaming so you will have to do a trial and error for the gaming thing
You're right and I know it
I test many apps and none of them works...
Do you know what is the best kernel for gingerbread that run apps smoothly?

It's been quite a while since I ran Gingerbread so I have no idea about that. As I said in my previous post, a little trial and error might help finding the right kernel for you

This is strange that all parts of stable android 4.0+ ROMs for wildfire s works for me except VPN!!
I think developers can fix it but they don't work on it!
I can't post on developer forums! can you ask them to fix this?
Or can you tell me how can I extract and use android 4.0+ kernels on GB Roms?
Thanks

It's a feature very few WFS owners use, that's why it remains as a very low priority......... And not everything works on our phones since 4.0+, it's only that you don't use the other ones that don't work
