Hi guys....need some help. With the old version of wmp 9 i could play music whilst the PDA was off (standby, i guess) thereby saving battery power. With wmp 10 as soon as i turn it off the music stops playing.
Any ideas, or am i stuck with leaving it on when playing music???
mplayer 9 also stop playing if you turn it off
but you can turn off the screen if you set a shortcut to one button
look in mplayer10's options i'm sure it support that too
where do i get the wmp10 for xda2s?
Search the wiki for Blue Angel and you will find the latest 1.40 ROM which contains WMP 10. By the way, Gadget Boy, assign one of your hardware buttons to screen toggle like in WMP 9 and you can listen to music while the screen is off!

does anyone has the upgrade file? or anyone has extracted from the rom?

i tried to assign buttons for windows media player 10 in windows mobile 2005, such as next, back, start/stop, it has presets and it wont let me change them to something different. anyone have this same problem or know a way to work around it?
I already downgraded to WM2003SE but I guess there are problems with button assigments.
Hi,
I understand that the w100 got a pile of bad reviews. I was just wondering if anyone had used the E100 with the artemis (http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=150193) and did it work?
Can someone explain what the problems were with the w100 please? I understand it worked with media player but was this only if the screen was turned on? Does the E100 work with any other media players?
Thanks
I'm using a W100 I bought on eBay and it's working very well. I use the embedded HTC Music player without problems (custom rom for my P3300). The player by default turns off screen instead of turning off the PDA, I don't think a program can run with the PDA turned off completely...
Didn't know about the E100, but W100 works flawlessly with HTC Audio Player and Windows Media Player. I think Coreplayer has a plugin for the remote, but I haven't tested it.
I use the E100 - And it works too.
My Problem is: When I listen to my music and the display turns off and I klick on the E100 for the next title for example, the displays turns on. Has anyone an idea, why? Or how I can turn it off? At the diamond there isn't this problem...
You could use for example S2U2 to lock the screen
Have had a TMO TP2 for about a month now, using the stock TMO rom, at least for now until the WinMo 6.5 stuff settles down a bit and I can make a good ROM choice.
The problem: Listening to streaming audio from the net (either over WiFi or mobile network, no difference) using either the wired or BT headset (no difference in behavior) on battery power. The phone will go to sleep and interupt the audio after the normal sleep timer expires. Only solution I have found is to keep touching the screen or other activity to keep the phone "awake", quite irritating. All other media feature operate as expected.
I use primarily Windows Media Player or Kinoma Play for the audio streaming. I have not tried to duplicate using local media files or the TF3D audio app since I don't store local media files on the phone. (have other devices and services for that, MS realease Zune software for WinMo for goodness sake!)
I used my previous WinMo phones like this with no problem (TMO Wing and MDA with various factory and cooked ROMS) with no issue like this. There seems to be a registry setting or some other tweak missing that tells the phone not to sleep when media is actively being played but I don't know where to find that setting.
Yeah, I could switch to a cooked ROM but that seems to be a "nuke it from orbit" solution when a simple "surgical strike" could do the trick.
Ideas anyone?
Have you installed the S2U2 sliding lock app?

I'm having this exact same problem & have been trying to find the registry key for several weeks. I'm also assuming it's a simple registry entry as my previous Palm Treo 700wx never shut off when streaming music no matter what application I used. Now with the Touch Pro 2 it shuts off based on the control panel power settings even while streaming music. I know I can set the power option to never sleep, but if I do that my battery would drain much quicker. Also lots of times I'll forget to turn that option back on once I'm done streaming & it's very inconvenient. I'm currently using TCPMP to get around this problem, but would like to find a solution so it's not application specific.
did anyone figure this one out?
Regedit the following dword value:
Code:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\BattPowerOff
Set it to 0 and soft-reset.
I have the same problem with S2U2 installed. The reg setting is there and i set S2U2 not to kill the power when locking.
Try this, It works with Pandora for me.

Stock Tilt 2 and it worked for me as well
This is what the cab a few posts back actually changes.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Unattended]
"wav1:"=dword:00000000

Thanks! Good to know. A very simple registry edit.
I havent used this but has anyone used this when not using a wav file and has it gone to sleep. I just use "turn the light off" cab and screen lock combo to stream.
So I've been playing around with my Touch Pro 2 that I just got a few weeks ago. Having lots of fun, except for one thing: I can't get my Bluetooth controls to work for advancing or repeating tracks or pausing play with ANY media player except for Windows Media Player. I've tried at least a half dozen other players and every time I try to change tracks or pause play nothing happens with the music player and my phone just returns to the "home" screen.
What's worse, when I trying to use it with Media Player it seems to lock up some of my hardware buttons and I can't use the start to back key until I reboot. Anyone else experience any issues like this? Did I just screw something up by playing around with too many other programs?
I'm on Verizon running Win 6.5.
Just an update... I just loaded Pocket Tunes from NormSoft. This program works with BT buttons right out of the box. This was the program I used to use on my old phone, but I didn't think they had a 480x800 skin. Just found one and I'm a happy camper.
I just use the player built into sense and my controls work fine with my bluetooth car kit. I can advance, pause play etc etc
