(Solved) Splash screen? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm not a newb and I've flashed at least 50 times on my Tilt 2. I have been running Energy roms for a while and decided to try the new offering from the Cell Pro series. Didn't like it and decided to flash back to an Energy rom again. However...when I do, I still have the screen from the Cell pro rom (The first screen when booting the device, can't remember which one that is called) then everything is Energy and perfectly fine. Wondering how to get rid of that, I've ran the Task 29 and re-flashed to no avail. Any help?
Update***With the help of Russ with the team responsible for the Cell Roms. I have found the fix. The first screen upon boot is indeed the "Splash Screen", this will revert that back to the original TP2 Splash.

Thanks ya'll.

Nobody...........?

Probably because you're flashing a barebones version of the Energy Rom Series... At least thats what your signiture says. Flash a version that has Sense in it and you should get one of his boot screens.

You would think so but I tried that by flashing a GTX rom as well. Same problem. Is this actually the "Splash screen"?

I think so. I can't say that flashing a Titanium will or won't update the initial screen; I was flashing from an NRG CHT, so the screen would have been as expected. I have since gone back to CHT; it is the same as the Titanium, except that Sense is available if desired. The Titanium uses 30 Mb less storage memory, but when running the basic SPB Pocket Plus, the RAM memory useage is almost identical between Titanium and CHT.
Did you do a task 29 before flash?

I did. I have been doing it before every flash now as it seems to make the device a bit snappier (Could be all in my head) It's not a huge issue, but just a minor annoyance.

Have you tried this???

No sir, I have not. Thank you. I'll try, although now that I know for sure it is the splash screen I can change the directory for the image by using Advanced Config I believe.

Still, no joy.

So...Still having this issue, even after re-flashing to new roms, tried going to a 2.1 rom and it's still there. Tried re-flashing back to a cell rom and it's still there, tried the new Max Sense energy rom and it's still there. It's mostly just a minor inconvenience, but still annoying. Any help?

...
I'm guessing youre talking about when you first turn on your device, like on the Energy roms where it says Touch Pro 2 in white letters on a black screen?
If so, then in order to change it, you have to flash it separate from your rom, kinda like you do with a radio.
AFAIK some chefs cook one into thier roms and some dont.
Never bothered changin or messin around w mine, like you I like the plain ol tp2 in white letters on black bg

So what is that screen called? The Boot screen?

i dunno the correct terminology for it for sure, but i am reasonably confident that it is called a bootsplash. it sounds like NRG doesnt cook one into his roms is probly why re-flashing doesnt give your old one back.
im pretty sure there is a thread in /themes and apps that has one or two that you can d/l and flash tho if you really dont like the one youre stuck with now
or could try askin for it in the energy rom thread, you probly wont get it right away, but maybe someone smarter than me can get it off thier device and upload it for you. If so, i'd imagine you could simply flash it using customruu just like flashin a rom

Which version of WM6 do you have installed?

I was just wondering which version of WM6 people here have installed on their device. Please vote! I, myself, am currently using Black 2.5 and Radio 1.41.

Same number of noobs it takes to screw in a lightbulb.
LVSW's support Chinese Plus better than others
I need to install ce-star to support chinese input and display,
LVSW's is the best for me,fast and stable.

Just *bumping* it up!
Black is the best, hands down.
i use them all at one point,
Black is fast and quite functional. Support regarding installation is very good too.
CUSTEL's 2.5
The best ROM I have tried out of 10 in terms of stability and reliability.
Custel's is the most stable. Black has too many bluetooth and sleep of death issues.
I havent frozen up once with Custel, I use to freeze three or four times a day with black.
Has anyone lost their wireless/wired modem function now, I'm on Black2.5 and can't use my set as a modem for my lappy, tried BT,IR, USB...none work now? I really need this feature to log into work when in the field. Any ideas?
edit: I let my fat li'll fingers do the walking and found it...AWESOME site guys, well done to all. You put MS to shame!

3rd Dash on the way

Should I just keep playing this send back the phone, get a new one and hope they offer me something better, or take this new phone they're sending and flash the rom right away?

If you flash the rom with one from kavana or rickwyatt you always have the option of putting the original rom if you need to send it back again.
word, now the tedious task of finding out the best rom and the instructions for installation, this forum is a mess lol
to tell you the truth is not too bad i upgrated mine in like 15 to 20 minutes last night, im ussing rickwaytt version 23 if u want to downloaded it have the link in my signature just make sure you unlock ur phone. if u got any question just post it here ill try to help but there is plenty of people willing to help around here
Do not get the Shadow, it is garbage... trust me...
Speed sounds more important to you than anything.
1) Use Kavana's ROM, or, even better, Ricky's Vanilla ROM
2) Do not install Voice Command.
3) Do not choose a CHome homescreen with the media goodies.
4) Install your most essential apps to the devince, never to the storage card. Install nothing non-essential.
5) Overclock it to 240. This is solid on any dash.
Do the above and your phone will be as fast as anything on the market, and as funtional, at this point in time. If it still doesn't suit your needs, get a different phone and a dedicated UMPC and 'tooth them.
p.s. I'm also on my 3rd dash, and Tmo has nothing else I would accept. I've checked. and tried a wing and a shadow first hand.

There is a program install that I've read it works like My favs, but i dont use it as much so i cant realy say how well it works.
Don't Worry
It just means that the neat T-Mobile MyFaves interface won't be there. Whenever you call someone on my faves, the charges are still the same; their phone number hasn't changed so why would calling one of them by dialing their phone number change?
You can still add an app that will put a MyFaves like feature on your phone. Plus, there are ROMS with this feature built into it.

cause i read online, before i got mine, that the screen would break if i dopped it, and i gotta tell ya ive dropped mine a few times and it doesnt even have a scratch on it.
I was wondering myself what the differences are between Rick and Kavana ROM. I have very successfully installed the Kavana 080408 ROM and it is awesome, but I hear a lot of people raving about Rickys ROM.
What version is the best (I dowloaded the v14 version)?
I love the way Kavana runs and looks. Speed is awesome and interface is fast (not overclocked).
What are the differences?
Thanks...
Run the latest Ricky's rom. I have it below. A lot of problems are fixed in this rom and its really nice. Ricky's rom is just an updated version of Kavana with the bugs fixed and all.
are there any images somewhere. I imagine it looks pretty much the same as kavanas. Right?
Thanks again. I'm downloading right now and popping it on in a moment.
Well, it is but there are some new applications and a lot of bugs fixed. Plus it has Chome slim which could be changed from the tools folder and then go to extras. (check it out you can change a lot of stuff from there and you can make it transparent and all). Check it out and mess around with it once you download it.

This one looks right up your alley:

I haven't tried it myself, so I can't give an opinion.
On the topic of flashing a custom ROM: Its not difficult, and really not scary as long as you read all the guides BEFORE you start, and follow the directions carefully. It seems a little intimidating at first. But once you do it, your response will likely be "Wow, that was easy!"
Thanks everyone I'm goingto try the Dusk Evo theme. There is a dailer too that looks sweet so again thanks.
Have you managed to install it? I haven't, I'm on the same att leaked rom. CHT works fine though.

OK, I have installed this theme (Dusk EVO) on one of my devices that is running this leaked stock rom. Do not install it if you have CHT installed, it will disable your CHT and it will not run properly if there are other visual mods already installed. I did a hard reset on my device and then installed this theme, the dialer and the task bar icons and it is now running pretty sweet. I am afraid to install CHT even though I want/need it for daily use. Also, since this theme must be installed to device memory, you are going to lose a lot of space on the device. After installing the three mods mentioned above I only had 36 MB left open on the device itself for installing programs.
I am now going to install crud scraper and see what I can free up before going any further. There may be another hard reset in the very near future. I think this theme was orriginally designed for the Leo which has much more storage space that the Rhodium.
Will report back after Crud Scraper does it's magic and let y'all know how much it frees up.
Loaded both no problem so far. looks nice.
OK, got the theme all loaded, latest CHT and Duttys Task Manager installed, cleaned all bloatware with crudscraper and now I have roughly 65MB device storage free. Not as much as I would like, but since almost everything else I use will be installed to storage card, I should be fine.
There does seem to be a few glitches such as, the battery indicator in the task bar disappears randomly and will not come back, task bar itself becomes unuseable from time to time, tapping the stylus on it will only make a "ding" noise and not bring up notifications or the Windows start menu. Sometimes it can be fixed by a soft reset or restarting Sense, other times not. It just seems to have a mind of it's own and it will only function when and if it wants to.
Also, if I try to change the wallpaper it will not let me. Not even to any stock wallpapers that shipped in the rom. I'll most likely be doing that hard rest in the morning and just use the latest CHT with that, along with a few custom graphics tweaks that I have done myself.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, I tried all of the lockscreen options available and none of them work. I seem to have no lockscreen at all now, but did before installing CHT. This seems to be directly related to the task bar screwing up, since it is usually after trying to lock the device that the problem presents itself.
I hope that anyone else that has installed this theme, CHT on the new rom, have had a better experience than I have. It looked good, even without wallpaper, but I'll take performance over looks if I have to make that decision.

You don't need to HardSPL to flash an official ROM (for your specific carrier). The original shipped ROM will flash fine.

Fortunatelly I have a file HTCTilt2ATTOriginalShipROM.exe I don't remember how I got it (maybe HTC) but I'm sure is the original.
The only question is that the original ROM was about 8/09 and I believe it was a fix patch on 12/09. I bought my Tilt2 on 4/10 so I don't know if I have to install the patch plus I don't know what kind of patch it was.

Read the oter posts about the new tilt 2 rom.. there is a couple things that suck. I dont like that it dont have the mini task mannager at the top right where it tells u how much memory is free and beable to close app without haven to open the task manager. It dont have arc messaging client, it has HTC message client, and i dont like how it runs, its really slow. the rom itself is fast, it dont show notifications on the home screen , u have to click on the top taskbar to see if u have a missed call and what ever, also the first thing u need to do is install .net 3.0 before u don anything then u need to do a registry edit to get .net to work right.. There is some other things i dont like about it, thats y im not usen it.. wildchild has made a nice update of this new rom, that fixed alot of things that werent right.. but read the form here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737168 then ull get a better view on this about this rom, whether u want it or not. But the best way to deside if u like it or not is to flash it and try it. Make sure u have the original rom just incase u dont like it. If u dont i have a copy and could upload to hotfile or somethin

1-Besides the above items let me add that the deal breaker for me was they reduced the text input keyboard from 6 or 7 to just 3. No more letter recognition, or handwriting or my preferred method, block recognition. I know is not popular, but I love it becuse it's almost impossible to mistype, it the faster way for me, I use my finger or the stylus and the big plus is it doesn't cover the screen! and I don't even have to look at the screen! The current keyboard covers more than half of the scree and in landscape mode it cover almost all the scree, just one line visible at the top. But the worst thing is that even if I am using the hardware keyboaard it pops over and over again.
2- HTCalbum.exe is just useless. in the Photo and Video tab, if I press "album" to change the albums or to see the grid, it opens the grid view for 1 or 2 seconds and returns to swipe view. If I'm quick enough to press the album key it shows the list of albums but it freezes for a while and returns back again to the swipe mode. The I get an error message from Microsoft with a link to report the error when I press the it asks for Wifi connection. And even if I exit the error message keeps poping up
Internet is definitely slower.
I couldn't find a way to add programs to the WM6 Star menu icons and Sense only allows 9.
How you can see the list of ALL PROGRAMS??
On the good side FM reception is a lot better
The one thing that is noticible better is that finally the the video play is very smooth (sigh) I'm going to miss that because I moving back to the original ROM.

ATT.
I've tried about 7-10 different task manager files, none really worked.
I'd flash a new ROM if I could get some straight answers as to the most stable and useful one. Everyone has their favorites, so the discussion gets a bit muddled. I'm in a Motorhome right now and may be for longer then I had anticipated, so if I do, I'm not in the position to play/experiment.
Any ideas?
Well of course opinions will muddle the discussion of "most stable and useful" - everyone is going to have a different angle of what they feel fit those criteria.
I don't really use WinMo much anymore (Android is way too much fun ) but EnergyROM always worked well for me. I'm on Titanium lately, because I don't care how it looks - I just want it to boot quickly to get me into Android quickly .

I like Android, but with it phoning home, and the lack of audio through B/T (yet - I need a headset in the car and walking around), I can't use it on a daily basis - yet.
