Hi.
I'm planning on making a JTAG Wiggler cable for my G1. I'm using the modified scheme supplied by Scholbert on post #412 of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591048&highlight=jtag
I made an image of this scheme with other supplied in the same thread (for VCC).

I have some questions regarding the type of resistors and capacitors...
-What kind of cap are C1 and C2? Does electrolitic works OK?
-R1 and R2 (bottom right) are SMD or doesnt make a difference?
-LM317, is there any problem on what kind of package is it?
.R3 (bottom) is SMD... but the value is 54ohm?
Hope you can help me a little on thiis one.
Best Regards.
Read on another thread that jtag can also be used to unbrick?
Yes, JTAG can be used to unbrick phones...
Let's hope someone can help me with the first Wiggler, after that I would gladly post a guide with tons of pictures if I succeed obviously.
Best Regards.
The caps are regular caps, but I do not see why you couldn't use electrolytic caps.
Resistors: there is no difference between the value of SMD and through-hole resistor, so see fit which one to use.
The LM317 is available in several packages: sot223, to-252, to220, to-263 to-39, to-3..
I would recommend the to-220.
R3 is 56 ohms according to schematic.
Regards,
EqX
Thanks for your answer...
Actually I choose the LM317LZ, it is the smaller one so let's hope it can dissipate the heat correctly.
From my very limited knowledge, this second scheme I post would be correct, using electrolytic cap. and pass throu resistors.
Best Regards.

far beyond my knowledge to do, i would pay someone to do it for my though
those can be bought for a few bucks on ebay.
But I personally would go for a buspirate (27$ shipped):
http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/bus-pirate-v3-assembled-p-609.html?cPath=61_68
Buspirate can not only be used as JTAG, but as so much more (simply by changing it's firmware )
(see the link or Dangerous prototypes page for more details)
And it is open source hard- and software..
(I also bought the probe set so I didn't have to mess with other headers etc.)
The problem with that is I do not know how to JTAG using that board...
My only chance is get the Wiggler done, use the cfg for OpenOCD the experts posted on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591048&highlight=jtag&page=64
And learn something...
Bye
BusPirate & openOCD totally possible
UPDATE!
This is the final scheme:
According to Scholbert it is correct.
Best Regards.

Flexible.... well i know its hard to get one of this parts cause are very weak... i has one... how many does you thing it costs?
hey Que...nice pimping with your BA..love it man!
basically if the flex that connects the lcd to the board is damaged it is more advisable to replace the whole lcd itself but of course it's kinda expensive. I got the same problem way way back but sadly did not find any replacement here(phil) for the flex so I was forced to buy a new lcd....
HI
thx for the replies, thx i think i'll never forget it the FLEX, i don't know how much it cost, even i can't but one from europe or USA, cuz i'm living in algeria, so there's no way, i was just thinking that maybe there's some cellphones that got the same flex so i'll just use. if you have any idea, please inform me.
Thx
Mmmmmm?
I think there are two different flex types i mean version!
My bro has a BA but he bricks it when he tried to change the Audio plug in... I know he is a fool
BTW if you want... I can send you the flex just pay the shipping cost... let me check that flex maybe is hard solded to the display...
I toldyou that history cause i tried to connect that display to my BA and it wont works... i think there are differnete revision versions of the display or mother board... ou can check the Part Number behind the flex... may is the same i got... what do you think?
Hello guys,
I'm curious about a part that I almost find on every phone but I have no idea what it exactly is...

Do you know where I can find one?

No... They don't know anything anyway...
Seller buy, and resell. Do you think they play with their toys?

How can you know if you don't ask? They might be able to point you to the Manufacturer's website for more information.
They certainly know where they buy from.
"Playing with their toys" is different from "knowing what you sell". In retail, I may not have "played" with everything I sold, but I knew enough about them to provide customer service, and knew where to get answers when I didn't have the information at hand.
You gave them your money - make them responsible for the follow up.
According to this newegg product listing, the manufacturer is MC-Power and thier website is http://www.mc-power.cn. Might be a manual on there, but good luck unless you know chinese. Also, their support email is listed as [email protected]
On a side note, how hard is it for people to look up this info themselves? I googled "mc-05 wireless charger" and the newegg page was the second result...
I've contacted the seller and manufacturer on OPs behalf and will post the response.
(can't read Chinese myself)
Interested in seeing what happens....

Hi everyone, I know this is not the most popular phone nor forum but I'd like to have more information as to where to get original/OEM spare parts.
My best friend was in love with this phone but the glass broke; he replaced it with a non-genuine assembly and the touchscreen quality was horrible. Now he's after an original assembly but it's very hard to find accurate information. I tried asking on Miui here but except one member mentioning Honorbuy, nothing suggested has been really helpful.
Has anyone here bought from Honorbuy, and if so, is it a reliable retailer? What is not very comforting is that the pictures of the assembly they sell are exactly the same as the one my friend bought on Aliexpress so the chances it is a genuine part are quite thin. Otherwise, is there a reliable seller or website for Xiaomi or just phones in general?
Or even better, is there a way to directly order from Tianma (the manufacturer of the assembly) or get in touch with a retailer working with them? An email has been sent to Tianma, waiting for a possible reply...
Here's what he gets from the information menu somewhere (sorry, no specifics) :

I bought a screen assembly from aliexpress.com
It wasn't perfect (a few bright spots at max brightness) but it worked fine. I just ordered another but I accidentally chose a Mi Max 2 screen :silly:
I hope it fits...
Wow I never got a notification for your reply, sorry. How did it go with your screen replacement?
Problem with Aliexpress, is that you can't really trust sellers. I've tried to contact so many of them who supposedly provide original (written in uppercase of course) screens but after a long discussion, they admitted it was at best OEM but not original, and I supposed it was just good quality copies.
My friend did some research on his side and he possibly found the way to identify a genuine assembly, as in the picture here :
What saddens me is the trend of the whole industry to prevent people from buying original spareparts. And also manufacturers not wanting to open their channels so that they can provide a repair service at a much higher cost; problem : what do I do when official repair service isn't provided in my country?
I'm not willing to rant anyway, but I'd appreciate if someone knows a reliable provider for screens in general.
