Flash video performance in FroYo? - Desire General

Has anyone tried watching videos on streaming sites like megavideo using FroYo? I'm very curious about the performance, since I'm a frequent user of such sites. In eclair I get low fps and out of sync sound, hoping for this to be improved in 2.2! Any info is highly appreciated!

I haven't try it personally but there are plenty videos on Froyo using flash content on Youtube. You can check those out or go to the Nexus one forum in XDA to see some feedbacks about Flash in Froyo.

from what i've seen and heard it is bad - but flash is still in beta so it's unfair to judge

Thanks for the quick replies, I'm gonna have a look at the videos! Didn't they add hardware acceleration in 10.1 (not the lite version)?

Browser question.

Longtime HTC sense user here and I'm missing a feature.. I really liked that when you clicked on a video it would ask if you wanted to watch online , or download.
Is there any way it could be added, or is there an app that does this.
(besides youtube download) I believe it worked for streaming mobile sites, not flash.

Sweeeeeet thx for the up bro
Any specific place for themes?
Is themin this similar to crapbox version?
Not sure about themes. Sorry.
XBMC is a streaming media player, for those that asked. Its popular for self-built media centers and available on Ubuntu and newer linux distros, Windows, and now Android.
Sorry about thread title, freaking' Swype

Its about friggin time! I've been waiting for this since the G1....now all I need is Navi-X and the HDMI out adapter and I'm good to go

Update, needs some performance tweaks, is this open source? Was when i used it for crapbox,
Also adding screenshots, this things beautiful & for movies on SD, it actually downloads boxart etc. Which is a nice touch gonna look into the theming tho,
Fix the scaling a lil n itd b perfict, hitting thanks again on OP, you deserve it, didnt even know this was a WIP & FYI, not media player, media CENTER, its an AIO program, with native DVD playback, multi format software decoding, built in "gallery", etc, its powerful and on other systems, incredibly customizable, future builds are a garunteed must have app
Edit* wont let me hit thanks, common people show your respects lol
**EDIT2
Theming looks simple,
Skins are listed in "/data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/cache/apk/assets/addons/skin.{skinname}"
Only extra skin by default is called touch, so it would be:
"/data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/cache/apk/assets/addons/skin.touch"
With an addon.xml in root theme folder, specifying multiple variables includig source texture folder, default resolution, etc
Btw, touch default res is 1280x720, that might be the scaling issue happening, hint hint
Woohoo.. another project xD
No need to thank me, i didn't work on this I just linked the apk.
Yes this is official from XBMC and its open source

This is a BETA, not official release (ok, well, technicly), and ur complainin something isn't working correct?
TubePlus isn't on official plugins list cuz it isn't working 100%, although somebody asked for a link so it was provided.
You could try adjusting some proxies, & playin with configurations for it, or wait for official support.
Consider urself lucky though, alls I get on my amaze is a black screen & ui sounds (HTC sucks..)
Here is the link for all on the nightlies for xbmc

1080p Youtube Apk

theos0o was kind enough to update his YouTube mod to support 1080p (used to only be 720p). 1080p isn't default so you have to enable it in the advance settings in the app. Be sure to thank him for his hard work.

Just so people know, there are apparently problems playing 1080p on the One using that apk but it is already being looked at.

In theory, Google no longer supports Adobe Flash Player; that's why we see all this controversy with some Android browsers still supporting it while others don't and won't. Google's seems to be pushing the HTML5 but that just can't happen overnight. Adobe Flash Player is certainly not dead and it won't be replaced for a while.
That's why it says it's for ICS and yes, it'll work on JB without problems. Most likely Adobe will never (officially) be releasing a version dedicated to JB or KLP...
It's probably also why we'd have to dig deeper and deeper to find this ARCHIVED links.

Thanks but I've been using Boat Broawser Pro for quite some time - at least for me there is no better Android browser - period. It supports Flash (no hack needed) and it comes with all the features I need/like. I simply can't stand Dolphin's gestures. Boat Browser uses a very similar engine but (although it supports some gesture) it mainly works on button-based interactions.

Flash supported browsers. What are you using?

Hey gang. Just wondering which flash supported browser is everyone using.
I watch a lot of football (soccer) online but lately Dolphin (modded) and Boat browser have been freezing and crashing while trying to play flash video.
Any suggestions would be great!

Actually NONE of the browsers fully support flash video in-frame on websites.
In other words, we can all play any flash video as long as it's not embedded in
a webpage.
There are a very few websites which are setup in such a way that allows any of the new
models of android phones to play/view flash videos which are imbedded in the webpages.
My S2 and S3 had no problem doing it............. I am sure sooner or later there will be
a mod, fix or an upgrade so it works properly all the time on any webpage.
