Looks nice,...

Wouldn't more efficient for everyone that creating CyanogenMod 5 ports to the GSM Hero to team together instead of creating five billion versions of the same thing?

Good work,
It's something I'm trying to do at the moment. Can you share the vendor tree that you used?
I'm trying to modify darchstars CDMA one and still trying to work out how it all fits together.

Of course, but that would be too logical.

Just fork Darchstar's CDMA Hero Cyanogen github.
EDIT: I've just created a GSM Hero Cyanogen fork: link.

I don't mind of working together as I won't try to fix common bugs like bluetooth during calls.
Also note that I didn't make a fork of Darchstar's repository, in fact I learned today it exists. Instead I wrote some and modified some of the files needed for the compiling process. My goal as of now is to make a separate section at Cyanogen's sources specifically for the Hero.
So if you're interested, I can upload my work to the github.

I would be interested in your files. It all helps in the learning process.
Good work again

I'm using your OS atm very nice and smooth, my mate is using the cyanogen for the nexus 1.
Few bugs I have found:
-Google voice search doesnt seem to work I just get a force close message.
-The animated wallpapers dont seem to work.
Also is their a way of linking my contacts into facebook? cant work it out.
Apart from this all seems to be working so far I'll keep you updated but good job!

Thanks for the feedback! In the next version there will be updated kernel and I hope most stuff will work. As for the live wallpapers -- I did not enable them in the quest for lighter system But I will do so as it seems that with proper kernel our heroes can handle with that
Aaaah, can't wait till tuesday, I will pick he server with the least workload and give it a whole day of compiling

Any theme for this fabulous rom ???? I love black bar notification,

Bump for the new version ;P

Verification failed while flashing:
E:Corrupt file: system/media/audio/ringtones/LoveFlute.ogg

Link is up again, hope there won't be any problems now

I get the same error now, only on another file (system/xbin/irssi)

Everything is working now. Great rom so far, linpack score is a bit dissapointing though. With overclock it's an average of 2.9.
Forgot to enable JIT, linpack scores of 4.7 now!

I really do hate these questions...
I would imagine fairly similar to other builds, but test it out for yourself! Everyone's mileage varies because the age of the device, their location (cell strength), usage habits, etc... I could go on and on, but basically everyone's situation is very unique because of so many variables that effect battery life.
yeah thats true, thanks!
nice work
will be my first rom to try as i'm curious how cm would run on our devices
thanks vatoloco
Fisrt post updated
Bluetooth is listed as working. Does this include bluetooth hands free pairing?
Repartitioned my SD card and unpacked superf.tar.gz into the ext2 file system with this tutorial http://www.neopeek.com/en/stories/android/102-download-android-froyo
However when I run haret, it stucked at "failed to execute init, bla bla to default" then "cannot find init bla bla" lastly hanged at "rebooting in 7 seconds.
What could be the problem?
EDIT: nvm it seems to work now
One notice regarding superF:
I forgot to include the fix for Wifi + Data. Sorry for that. New fixed build will be out tomorrow. In the meantime you may try out Froyorider or another CM6 and give me feedback. Thank you!
I setup Froyorider-Port on Diamond 500 and it ran fine for a few hours. I then used Windows for a few hours and when I booted Android later I kept getting the following error and this is making the phone unusable.
"The application Google Service Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
This message keeps coming even though I Force Close it.
Managed to get froyorider running for few hours, synced with exchange and google, installed few app, tested ringtones. All went well until I decided to reboot my phone, it got stucked at the "neopeek" boot animation, just kept looping but wouldn't get into the OS
i'm using a Diamond, and the froyo ports (every single one i tried) don't seem to work well due to the low amount of free RAM available
however, i returned to the donut build and it's blazing, it's faster than even winmo itself, plus it's the only one i can use on a daily basis
would love a donut AOSP port (possible CM), hopefully you'll get to that
keep up the great work!

What makes it perfect
and what makes it not so perfect with your "near perfect" statement. Please elaborate
Just tried the CM6 official RC2 build, so far everything seems to work perfectly well, OC widget, gallery, account syncing etc, and it feels generally faster than XDAndroid AOSP system. Battery so far goes according to the trend of any android build out there, fast drain and slightly jumpy.
Overall very nice thanks neopeek!

Honestly, it is kind of a waste of time to port the ICS SDK. I know that you can say that you were first to port ICS, but all you would get is a buggy build that has a bunch of missing features. It would be cool to play around with it a few days before the source actually come out but is the effort really worth it?
Check out my git repo: https://github.com/anarchron/N1_ICS

Agreed. Let's wait for ASOP or CM. No need to lose sleep over something that will never work good considering the past experiences with SDK ports.
Well, I have it running, but no more.
It has some strange screen pointer which makes using the device really irritating
Anyway, porting SDK sucks.

I've played a little with the SDK emulator today, I thought there was a setting to turn on/of the screen pointer under development settings or something(so settings > development > screen pointer)

The scripts I'm referring to are the install scripts that tells the device what to do with the files. The rest (which I forgot to remove) probably aren't doing anything yet.
It doesn't remove anything its just like flashing any other ROM in CWM or Rogue.
first thing i noticed after flashing that you get a popup message to choose between setup wizard or deafultactivity, when i chose setup wizard i ended in a select language loop when i choose English us it says just a sec and then back to the same choose language screen, i had to reflash cause i chose setup wizard for default, when i choose deafultactivity it skips the wizard and starts, that's the first thing i encountered, i will keep u posted.
This is build is far more complete than the other ICS build. Video acceleration works properly allowing HD youtube and HD flash video to work properly. I am very impressed with ICS. Even at the stock speed, everything is so fluid in a way that overclocked and tweeked honeycomb could never approach. I can't go back now. Hooked. I'm sure you guys will get everything working before too long.
Do you suggest a full wipe if you are coming from the other ICS rom? If not just wipe cache and dalvick-cache?
Thanks for your work.
Must resist...

Well like I said I compiled it from Google Source and my "Real" name is Mike but don't tell anyone. When you compile it, it ask some questions and as we are both finding out thats were it goes. Should have used Zone23 I guess.
Thanks so much for putting this rom together. Now the xoom feels like its as fast as the specs say. No browser lag and I can't find any lag at this point.
One minor issue I'm noticing is every word I type is showing as not in dictionary.
hi there, i tried the aosp ICS build and i am very excited with the overall system performance.
any SU-related activity crashes in the other build, what about this one ?
Is voice input, Google music and gta4 working ?

Great job! Wifi Xoom from latest Tiamet 2.3.0. Wiped catche and Delvic only. Works great! Had to reboot to set up my Exchange mailbox. Not sure how to set up my pop mail accounts. Spell check going wild. Everything is underlined. Very minor stuff can't wait for Team Tiamet to release the real thing! But this is a great appetizer, will Try to use it as everyday system. Have Nandroids. Is this compatible with the latest Roague Kernals and cwm recovery?
Never mind, pop accounts set up. Calender works great. Web browsing and mail increadibly smooth. I can*t quantify it but has a very smooth feel.
can someone plz confirm how is ZONE version of ICS??
does Tegra graphics & hardware graphical acceleration work properly on this one?
Anyone confirm Netflix is working on this version?

If you are wondering how you can use this software its easy. You can clone my repo for now. and run the CMCompiler script:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/lithid/CMC.git
cd CMC
./CMCompiler
Features:
- Check for repo installation on startup / or create a repo
- Add and remove devices quickly and easily.
- Remove all non english languages.
- Remove live wallpapers
- Remove cm wallpapers
- Check if adb is running or not.
- Update the repo
- Compile cyanogenmod
- Built in color themes. > http://goo.gl/cED8t
- Plugin support. (More information on this to come)
- local config file for saving settings or manually editing them.
- Odex plugin built into the package. This will take your connected cyanogemod installed phone and odex the rom on the phone.
Known Issues:
- There is nothing under the menu option 99. This is a placeholder for information about me and the compiler. If you select it it will just exit you out of the script.
- There is no checking for installed software. You will need to install the needed packages on your own to compile. Check post 2 for needed software.
- I have only tested this with ubuntu 11.04.
- Removing the CM wallpapers from the build only works with gingerbread for now. Everything else is working as expected for me.
- I don't check for open ports on your network, so there might be issues connecting to the repos and syncing. I have not built error checking for that.
Features to come:
- Check for installed tools and tell you which are still needed
- Installer/Remover
- Updated information about CMC and plugin support.
- Pure AOSP via plugin
- Adb installer
- Better error checking support.
- Check for errors during compile and point to places to fix.
- Edit the name of your kanged rom!
- I will also take requests!
Please any issue that should arise, I apologize in advanced. Please let me know with as much detail as possible to replicate the issue and I will resolve it.
You can follow me on google+ I tend to talk about it a bit on there as well.

Then the cwm you're using is faulty. Use the recovery.img from your cm build.
Btw. your build will not boot into gui. It's totally useless unless you're a really good developer.

Pretty big problems with buffer allocation for EGL.
GraphicsBufferAllocator (libui.so) tells Gralloc (gralloc.hi3630.so) to allocate some buffers of a platform specific type.
Gralloc tells ION (libion.so) to do so. ION tells kernel. Simple, in theory.
CMs libui doesn't have the required stuff for our platform and using libui.so from huawei results in nothing.
This will be a very hard game.
For the ascend p1 development @Loller79 worked on a gralloc fix, last year. I hope It could be useful..
I mailed honor support to ask their developers' help. My request was redirected to their team.. :fingers-crossed:
I think they're passing some custom usage flags to gralloc we don't know yet. I'll try to build gralloc from sources and use it on stock rom to get that stuff logged.

First sign of teh baseband!
Nice job
Hloody bell! I wasn't expecting this considering the quality of the sources.
Audio, Media and Camera are depending on each other and are linked to framework.
Can't get it running and already pulled in half of the stock rom. This is pretty bad.
Makes it impossible to get a newer android version running. So you always have to wait on huawei.
Have to decompile original framework and see what we're missing. I assume this will take me countless hours.
So don't expect any progress during the next few days/weeks.
